The UPS Store

I been using this store for a while now. Recently it has gone through ownership change. I believe old owner was an absentee owner. There is noticeable change in appearance of store & service. Store looks very clean and neat. Staff is friendlier.

ups driver left early (before posted last pickup time) & caused packages to arrive a day late.
i have asked both ups & the ups store to come up with a solution to prevent this problem from happening again.
the store manager has assured me that he agrees with me & this will not happen again and i believe him!
i have updated my review and thank him.
this was ups’s screw up but the manager of this the ups store location gets it & is helping to make it better.

Avoid if possible. Postal service or fed ex are far superior options. You would think you were in Europe with the hours this store keeps, they open late and close early (as in disregard the hours listed on the store window and online). The two times I have been to the store the female staff were inattentive and rude and the shipping options were pricey.

A lot of people dumping on UPS store here for their bizarre problems. Put simply: they will take your packages and even help you package things without charging you extra, You can usually park in front and IF, IF– there isn’t a PITA, sending 12 faxes to 13 locations or someone who has to dig in their purse for 5 minutes to find 32 cents for the bill you should be done inside of 3 minutes.

I am from out of town and needed to print a bus ticket to head home. I called the long beach UPS store once they opened to see about accessing a printer, the man on the phone assured me they had printing available through their public computer. When I got there to use the computer it wasn’t working. The man was of no help, didn’t try to restart the computer, didn’t even look at it. He told me my only option was to use the public library which wasn’t opening for another 3 hours. I asked him if there was anything he could do, such as look at the computer to see what was going on, instead he came up with some random explanation about how my credit card was declining because I had no funds or the company shut off my card. That wasn’t the case, and I ran a different card to make sure. I just found the way he handled the situation completely unprofessional and immature. He’s a young guy managing the store by himself, good for him, but he needs to know how to speak to customers and deal with these circumstances in a professional manner. His response when I told him it was unprofessional and bad customer service was to «leave my store.» I use UPS very often in my home town and the staff is always helpful, knowledgable and professional. I was expecting nothing less from this branch. The mans name at the Long Beach branch is Luis.

I went today to this Long Beach «Packaging center „UPS store where shipping items like card board boxes and tape are displayed and sold on racks on a self serve area, like any USPS office or Fedex offers so the costumers can, if needed, quickly pack small parcels in two minutes tape them and hand them to the clerk to be shipped, (that seemed to be nature of the shipping center, unless until recently) and as I walked in and put over one of the sides counter tables a little 10“ by 20» Trader Joes paper bag with some snacks, vitamins and a shirt for my daughter (who is away in college) the older clerk, very mean guy, behind the main front counter, sees me emptying out the small paper bag with the 4 items I had on it and right away! faster than the 10 seconds that It would’ve taken to pack my 14“x 10″ cardboard box, and the guy says on a petty way; you’re not supposed to pack here, you should do that at your house and bring the packing ready! Stating insurance policies and safety concerns! And justifying his small minded action, he then refers to that habitual: «is my boss order, not mine» It is obvious that their only concern was not being making money off the box I brought in or buying the packaging service they offer. the store was empty, I wasn’t packaging things that could bother anyone around or occupying counter space for a long periods of time, I was just one costumer patronizing a business that I won’t anymore, I’ll go across the street at USPS office and ship my business from there !!! Some «business persons» take for granted the costumes will keep coming in just because they have a name «UPS » (that someone else made big, and they’re trying to make it small as their mind and their approach to business)

Admittedly, I don’t use this UPS store for a lot.
They are my go-​to drop-​off location for Amazon pre-​paid returns. Still, the staff have been helpful when I needed boxes sealed, even if I came in with an armload of them.
With a private parking lot and ample street parking in front and across the street, I’ve rarely taken longer than 5 minutes to be in and out.
For what services I need from them, they’ve been just fine for me.

A package was mistakenly delivered to my door. The address was to a multi-​apartment dwelling and there was no apartment number on it.
I live very close to the UPS store so I brought it there.
The attendant refused to take care of the package. Instead he proceeded to provide lengthy instructions that included calling UPS, entering code numbers, my address, the destination address, etc.
I stopped him and told him that I was trying to help UPS and was not going to go through much more inconvenience to do so. He said that he could not «help» me and I could discard the boxes.
I was astonished at the lack of concern for his own company and customers. I was not a UPS customer looking for help.

$ 69.00 for 50 color copies! Please… they never provided an estimate, charged an EXTRA $ 20 to make tri-​fold flyers, the owner and manager are «not in now…» and the chick’s response is «sorry, I don’t know what to tell you». May the power of OOB shut this place down ASAP!

Went here to get copies made. Will never go back again. The worker (not sure if he was the owner) was rude rude rude!!!

Unfortunately I had a similar experience with the older guy who appeared to be the owner. He is very rude and I will not bring them my shipping or copy business any longer.
