Closed, but not forgotten. It was 2005 – 2007. It’s a thursday night, You didn’t have anything to do so you call your friends to see what they were gonna do. Most likely, they would say, let’s pregame and go to V20 So much good memories and everyone you knew was there… it was a magical time during those years.

I came here for the 1st time a couple of months ago and was pretty blown away. Huge venue, never a line at the bar. 3 bars, including an outdoor bar/patio? That’s super sweet. Then they have a bar that’s ‘cash-only’ that NEVER had a line in case you wanted to avoid bumping elbows at the bar. Dance floor is pretty big, and the transition to one dance floor to another is pretty cool. The only thing I didn’t like was the DJ was kind of whack. I hated how nothing popular was being played and he would play crap like«Slow Motion» and it would kill it for me after that. This place needs to fix its DJ situation, seriously. But this place is still pretty cool nonetheless.

Say it ain’t so! V20 is no mo. The sight of 15 Asian girls ALL forming that unbreakable hand-holding barrier as they make their way through the dance floor shall forever be embedded in my memory. (~_~)

Thought I’d write a review for this place since they’re closing their doors«due to complications with the great city of Long Beach». I came here once with my friends on a Thursday night since the cover charge was only $ 10. Even though I was clearly overdressed since there were girls wearing denim jeans and t-shirts or really skimpy outfits, the décor and atmosphere of the club is nice; nothing impressive though. The crowd mostly consists of blacks, Latinos, and Filipinos. There were, surprisingly, a lot of Asians because UCI’s Chinese Association was there that night as well. The dance floor is average sized, with booths alongside the wall, behind the bar. The bar and«lounge» area is kind of restricted only to 21+, which they’re very strict about. I think the best part about the place was RJ Productions and the very accommodating photographer. I wanted to retake our picture just about a million times and he was very patient about it. Being a photographer myself, I know how annoying it can get, so I give him props for putting up with me. Overall, I’d say this club is good for 18 – 19 year olds. If you’re 21+, go spend your money elsewhere. If you’re stuck in between at 20, and you like hanging out with the youngin’s then go ahead and try — oh wait, they’re closing LOLNVM

They fail to promote honestly. And of course people believe it, although they should know better. Two years ago this place was alot more cracking, and fun, and great crowds. Now it’s either too crowded, or dead. They should really get their promoting together or something. I heard recently they had a 15+ event or soemthing. Well thats terrible to profit from. I believe clubs make money from selling drinks? I dont know but that was ridiculous to hear. Thursdays are usually the 18+ fridays sat 21+ I can’t enjoy probably more than an hour or hour and a half at this place. The out door area is nice though. And the venue indeed is big. But the workers are bitchy and it’s like they DONT want you to have a good time. I went here often before, and i’ve seen the downfall of it or maybe i grew out of it but on my opinion i rather go to another club or stay home and study then waste money going here. But rather here then sharks? haha. Oh, Dj’s suck here. Music on repeat and terrible transitions.

Now I know why the V2O rating is less than 3. The club use to be so much better. They had friendly staffs and fun people. Now the staffs doesn’t even smile and don’t even want to provide useful information such as how to get out of the club. We tried to leave last night from the entrance, but the guy told us to use the door from the other side, and when we try to leave from the other side a really bitchy female bouncer was yelling at us and said we can’t leave from there. And when I ask where can we leave, she just told us we can’t leave from there. Really? it was 1 in the morning and she won’t allow us to walk out of the club. and what happen to the quality of the girls there? I was there on Friday night and the dance floor never got full. There were a lot of older bigger chicks on the dance floor. Also 20 $ cover charge for V20, I don’t think I will go back there again.

Came here on a Friday night. Signed up for a guestlist. $ 5 cover if you’re on the list and in the club before 10:30. We’re in line at around 9:40. We get up to the very front of the SLOW line. It is literally a minute or so before 10:30 and we get redirected to the«regular» line where we have to fork up $ 20 to get in. SUPER lame! The music was not my personal liking, good songs were played for like 30 seconds, and then stuff people didn’t know played for the full length of the song. Drinks here were whack, didn’t taste right. They had some guy named Young Berg performing… ended up wasting some of my time enjoying the club that night. I’m already not a huge fan of clubbing, but this place makes me hate it even more.

So I came last Saturday on a fluke. Heard some guys saying that E-40 was performing tonight so that sounded like some where I needed to be. Walked in and liked it from jump. This is the hugest and nicest club in the LBC. Happened to walk in at the right time cuz E-40, Ya Boy(We Run L.A.) & Lazy Bone(Bone Thugs n’ Harmony) were just walking on stage. E-40 rocked it & Ya Boy performed my fav song(it should be everybody fav song from Cali). Well overall I had a great time. Normally when I pass by here it’s nothing but Asians here. It still was so I guess it’s strictly an Asian club. The security here is on point. They don’t play ! The ignorant party-goers who wanted to floss & show everyone that they were able to sneak weed up in the club got quickly snatched up. It was soooooooo funny :-) it looked like a straight cartoon the way they were snatching them up. Reminded me of Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air throwing Jazz out. Oh and of course we couldn’t leave without it being a fight : —( CAN’T WEJUSTALLGETALONG… DAYUUUUM !!!

Big floor, large bar, and nicely designed environment! Who’s up for some(as a friend would put it) pretentious Asian clubbing!!! YEA!

If extras from«The Debut», «Tokyo Drift» and«Gran Torino» had a convention it would definitely be at this damn place. SOOOO many Asians, with a few other races peppered in… it’s crazy! HAHAHA! I went here with my Tech N9ne street teamers that I lead last year to promote at an E40 concert and man… it’s so packed, that’s it’s ridiculous… the damn line was so UN-organized and it looks like the club was outside! Parking SUCKS… I ended up parking by The Vault 350(R.I.P.) and walking all the way down to V20. Mannn… so many people here mad dog you for no damn reason. Some friends of mine actually had a friend(who wasn’t even a gang member) who got shot and killed by some angry gangsters at the damn parking lots around here, so yeah… BIGNEGATIVE. Seriously, I love my peoples, but there’s just way too many wankstas and show-offs around this place… it feels like Asian/Filipino prom night or St. Philomena on a Sunday service. I mean, it’s great for promoting, but annoying as hell. They have this dark tunnel/bridge you have to walk through that reminds me of a mini version of the dark tunnel from«28 Weeks Later», but instead of zombies popping out of nowhere, you see drunk people stumbling onto you and throwing up… sorry, I’d rather deal with real zombies instead of trendy zombies!

OMG I think this is the first time I’ve been to a club and was booored out of my mind!!! Crowd was lame, music was bunk, drinks… well we all know how I feel about alkie… but it was average… I mean I am always on my blackberry, its my life line, but to be on it at a club… that’s saying something. I was here for mardi gra night… that dude Ryan something was there… that pro skateboarder… is he even 21? Anyway, they had a competition going on… whoever got the most beads got a gift certificarte for a boob job with a high end plastic surgeon in newport. Once they announced this competition I said«eff it» let’s make this happen… the sad part is I was on my phone the whole night and won!!! So my 3 stars are only for the fact that I got a free boob job out of it… haven’t gotten it yet but I will eventually. Other then that… I will never return to this club… seriously, I mean never.

I’ve been here a couple of times and I’ve been ripped off by them EVERY single time. We came around 10:30 on a Thursday. On the website it said that it would be free before 12:00 if you were on the guestlist. Nope. It was pretty empty that night with the exception of a couple of azn groups hanging around. Drinks were overpriced and it was really crowded around the bar area because of all the security(making it difficult to walk around). However, security did nothing about the fight that almost broke out on the dance floor. Ugh, I wouldn’t come back unless someone is paying me to. Just give me my $ 20 back, jerks.

Cool setup, two dances floors — one in the main area and one smaller in the back. Very clean. Music is pretty good and I like their TV setups… Lots of space to dance or just sit. One of the nicer clubs I’ve been to but sometimes I do feel I’m a bit out of place there. It’s about $ 10-$ 20 cover.

I’ve been hearing about V2O since my college days at the University of Chinese Immigrants and 7 years later I finally get to check it out. Lucky for me, my boyfriend knew the MC so we got in for free. When I heard that it’s $ 20 after 11pm, I was positively astounded; remember way back when $ 20 covers were reserved for only Hollywood and Vegas? C’mon people, this is Long Beach. Anyhoo, it was a Saturday night. Venue is actually pretty nice. 90% Azn, and the girls all look the same because they are all wearing ridiculously heavy makeup and really short dresses/shorts. Even the go-go dancers were Asian. Asian girls(including myself) really don’t have asses… =( Anyway, I don’t know how other nights are like, but Saturdays seem pretty cool. The DJ and MC were entertaining. Apparently there is a hip hop DJ on the main floor(where I was at) and a house DJ in the back room. I didn’t run into any douche bags. In fact, the guys my friends and I met actually seemed pretty decent. Drinks weren’t too overpriced compared to the rest of LA and were actually pretty yummy. A couple performances by hip hop dance groups. Plenty of people dancing, but not overcrowded. Overall, I had a good time and I’m glad I went. But I wouldn’t pay $ 20 to get in to the place.

If you remove all the whack-ass people and turn on your internal mute button, you have yourself a beautiful venue! I came here last night at the last minute for a dual celebration of a going-away and a birthday. What my ears experienced was a lot of Venga Boys on crack for music. My eyes saw a lot of skin on girls seeping painfully from the seams of the dresses they squoze into… yeah, squoze. And my eyes also saw two very large people shamelessly humping in that other little dance floor that has a tube for an entrance, like that ride in Tomorrowland that makes you look like you’ve been shrunken. I also saw King of the Asian Douchebags equipped with sunglasses, fedora, and an air of douchebaggery. Listen, kuya, take ‘em off, seriously! If this place operated like it’s sister club, Kress, there might have been 5 people in the club, myself not included since I was dressed in high geekdom, not prepared for the hoochieness, although the girls I was with all considered removing their bottoms and stretching their tops to juuuust cover their asses. And even though, I was in good company, the music was probably the ultimate dealbreaker for this place. I don’t know. My eyes and my ears are still bitching about which sense had it worse.

I like coming here every now and then to get my groove on. This place has changed a lot since a couple years ago… creating more special events, complimentary food if you get there early, people are more dressy… I guess the crowd is the same though. Lots of creepers on the sides just staring at the dance floor sippin on their drinks. and the women only dancing with their cliques. But some people just want to dance and don’t care with who. haha. Gogos are pretty to look at too. :D How to Club for Cheap at V2o 1. Get on the guest list or show them your student ID or come before 1030! The max you should pay is $ 5. Seriouslyyy 2. Find free parking across the bridge! Why pay $ 7 when you can park for free!!?(yeah they raised the prices) 3. Preparty in your car or at the nearby restaurants/bars. 4. Don’t wait in line for drinks– go to the back room or the patron or corona lady’s stations.

To add a little bit more about other people’s reviews about«vietnamese overload»…mainly to comment off of «Shong H.‘s review… Her review had nothing to do with the actually club itself, she says that the drinks are expensive, yes a beer is 6 dollars, but it beats 8 dollar beers in Hollywood. She goes on to say, «short fobby Asian men» in the club hit on her, which I think is totally wrong thing to say as if she isn’t Asian herself with a father who came from another country also. You can’t trust someone who gave«Highlands Club» in Hollywood good ratings to tell you what clubs to attend. Yes, I think on certain nights, every other saturday when the promotion group Blended has their events, there’s a lot of Asians in general, but I don’t see what the big deal is anyways, it’s usually a packed house with live music during peak hours of the night. Lots of people, good amount of girls, who’s complaining?!? So what if there are a lot of vietnamese? What does that have to do with the club having bad ratings? The club is a pretty cool club though, not selective on who gets in or not, usually everyone gets in(which is a plus for big clubs). From time to time you can catch some small time rappers and import models and whatnot also. I think it’s a good spot to go, easy parking and good music…

This is a huge nightlife venue in Long Beach right on Aquarium Way, near the aquarium. It has several sections, but I’ve only spent most of my time near the central bar and dance floor. The rear dance floor plays different music more often than not and recently I saw a Guitar Hero competition going on. I avoid the outdoor smoking pit for obvious health reasons. I’ve been here for a few Visionshock( ) parties and the DJs have always played live enough music to keep the crowd bouncing. Go-go dancers strut their stuff on the front stage.(Venue policy is that you can’t photograph them. Some girls don’t mind — I’ve asked — assuming security isn’t around.) Besides good music, an MC might start a dance contest and occasionally there will be drink promotions to keep everyone happy. Speaking of drinks, V2O has got some gymnastic, friendly bartenders(most recently, Dena and Anthony served me). Staff I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with are courteous, including security. Stop by if you’re in the area!

THISCLUBSUCKS, ALWAYSVERYLONELY!!! The upstairs bars are better and free of charge, really don’t go to V2O not even for a Concert. Although I went yesterday to see Chris Brown, OMG:(The night was so F#cken bad, the stupid Promoter LIMO was horrible and clearly not capable of handling such a big event. Apparently Chris Brown never confirmed for this event, so never showed up, the club passed out rain checks for this sorry club, but why the hell would I ever want to go again. Been there a few times, each time hoping for the best but each time it sucks, the place is always empty, except when they promote a fake concert. Will NEVEREVER go to V2O again, EVER!
