Velo Pacific

I purchased a bike from a local competitor, when I asked him to order me a water bottle cage, he could’ve cared less, got no response. (my mistake for not doing any research) Found this shop on my morning route, stopped in and got a great deal on a pair of cycling shoes, and they even got me my Bianchi water bottle cage within two days. This shop knows how to handle and treat their customers well .my next bike will be purchased here, thanks guys for a great job

I came here with my sister and aunt for bike rentals to bike around LB since it’s our first time in the city. We came here an hour and half before they closed but an hour to bike around was good enough for us. Leonard was really nice, friendly, and helpful. He also showed us some good biking routes– which was really helpful! I will be coming back in the future when I’m in the city!

This place rocks! They were closed on a Sunday morning at like 9:00am when my buddy and I got a second flat tire down the street from them. We had already used our only spare tube so we were pretty much boned but these guys opened their doors for us and hooked us up. Super friendly and super helpful!

Got a flat tire and had to walk a couple of miles to get it fixed. We were on the way to Jones when we saw this small store. The worker decided to show us how to fix our bikes on our own and the service was amazing. Definitely coming back when I go to Seal Beach.

Whenever I visit they are the most knowledgeable and friendliest people in the Velo business. They never, ever speak ill-​will towards other brands or people (like other bike stores and tri shops I’ve visited).

I found them via groupon as they currently have a promo for 4 hour bike rental for $ 20. (50%off — normally $ 10/​hr). This includes helmet and lock though we opted out of helmet and forgot to ask for locks. This would have come in handy to eat around downtown Long Beach.
I brought my dog (@oclhasa on Instagram) and asked the shop if they could install a basket on my bike. Josh was super kind and said it would be ready by the time I got there and to bring a sweater for the basket as it is wire (uncomfortable for my 4 legged friend).
When I arrived, they were able to get us out the door very quickly and both bikes were ready. They adjusted my bike to the appropriate level and pointed out the route we should go. The shop was clean and there was a lot of retail items though i haven’t ridden on a bike for 5 years so I can’t speak much about them. Their bathroom though? Clean! :) make sure to use it before you set off to the beach.
The beach! Oh so fun. We rode 7.5 miles round trip (from shop to downtown long beach). They renovated long beach’s boardwalk and the bike path is spacious and surprisingly uncrowded for a Saturday. I feel like Long Beach is a understated beach — the way I like it! #hatecrowds. The bike path was pretty easy though I am a bit out of shape so my thighs are killer this next morning.
Pro tip: arrived at shop around 1:15 and because the shop closes at 6, they were kind enough to let us know we can take it out longer as long as we brought it back before 6. I will be renting again if I find myself in the area. It was such a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Took an Über all the way to Velo Pacific (formerly known as Tri Pacific) after my tyre issues got the best of me. I could have gone to the countless bike shops around me at the time, I just gave up and called an über but I decided to be dropped off 20+ miles away. I knew it would be worth the fare and I was not disappointed. I bonded with my über drive on our adventure to the bike shop and I think I made a friend. After reaching my destination, I was offered a cup of expresso from Lenny (the bike shop owner) and received first class hospitality as they worked on my bike. When I was ready to head out and meet my friends, one of my buddies called me to tell me he too was getting an über over to the shop. He broke a spoke! Guess what?! Josh took his broken spoke and fashioned him a new spoke so we could be on our merry way. This shop is first class of the highest class! Highly recommend checking this shop out.

Great local Pro Shop, I went in recently for a repair and they provided with some great advice, even provided me with a loaner wheel while my race wheel was being rebuilt.

I live in the South Bay and this definitely isn’t the closest store to me but by far is the most down to Earth. I originally found this store on Unilocal and I am super excited I did. A lot of the other tri stores seem arrogant (you know what I’m talking about) and willing to put you on any bike as long as you have the money. This store made me feel welcome with it’s casual appearance, informative and knowledgeable staff and overall excitement about biking and in my case, triathlons. It’s a small store granted but what lacks in square footage is overcome by feeling that you are buying from a friend and they CARE about what you want which is very important to me and should be to you. Thank you Leonard and Max for your continued help in pursuing my Ironman obsession!

If you’re looking for the high performance equipment which can be hard to find in the surrounding areas, then this is the place. BMC, Pinarello, Cervello, etc can be found here, including high end components, wheels, and clothing. Great staff, convenient location, and a cool shop dog. Nice to see someone take a BIG risk in the high end bike market and SUCCEED. Thanks for coming to Long Beach!

I’ve been a triathlete since the mid 80’s starting with the Bud Light series races. I have seen lots and lots of shops come and go over the years especially living down here in San Diego。but with lots of family up in the LA area I get to visit often and after seeing Tri Pacific in the Long Beach area it’s the only shop I go to when in the area. Top notch service and they only carry the very best products and always plenty in stock.

Leonard and his crew has always been friendly and helpful to me whenever I swing by. And they always have the thing you need and in the rare chance they don’t, they’ll order it for you right away. Their kits looks AWESOME!!!

Still the best bike shop in the LB area! Nice welcoming place to hang out and look at all of the cool stuff. Great customer service by the owner, which is why I bought my Cervelo there and will continue to shop there. Shop local & support this friendly family owned business.

Great shop, Period! Beautiful products, the top end best tech, fair prices and great sales, free test rides, a real community. Some friendliest owners/​workers I’ve ever encountered, even the regular customers and shop riders/​runners/​swimmers are super friendly and knowledge about the sports and helpful in getting you started or finding new routes and resources. The kind of place I love just swinging by at the end of a long ride to hang out for a bit before going the extra few miles home, or swinging by on my day off to treat myself to some high end gear to relieve some work stress. And they’re the only Assos dealer outside of LA proper that I know of… go here… go here now

Bad business practices! Just saying from lots of local cool triathletes! Bummed they rip off newbie beginner triathletes and try to sell high end gear to JR Tri kids just getting started! Gave them too many chances to redeem their reputation. We support many local businesses but cannot endorse this tri shop! This is my first ever negative review but feel it necessary to inform my fellow triathletes and cyclist! Be cautious!

All the guys at Tri Pacific have always been very helpful, they give great insight and good advice on any questions I may have had. I frequent there often and have never had a bad experience. Even when I just stop by during a ride to say hello or look at some sweet bikes they are always welcoming.
I unfortunately had both my bikes stolen from my garage, Leonard worked with me and my insurance company to help get back back on two great bikes extremely quickly. On top of that while I was waiting for the insurance people he let me borrow a bike so I didn’t have to stop riding at all.
Anytime I need anything Tri Pacific is the first place I go, I know they always will find the best item I need at a great price. Best spot I have been to hands down, next time I need anything I am 100% sure that Tri Pacific is my first choice.

A true gem in the world of want to be high-​end bike shops. Lea rod the owner helped me, he has a plethora of knowledge and presents it in a very humble fashion. He spent quite some time helping me select the perfect handlebar for my new road bike. He has quite a nice selection of clothing and accessories and knowledge as far as which jersey or bib will best fit my needs. I will am visiting the area and was referred to him by another bike shop, he really knows the high-​end stuff.

After two bad experiences, I won’t go back.
My friends and I headed to Tri-​Pacific as our first stop, headed in for a Long Beach training day (gearing up for the LB Tri.) We arrive to find the store closed during posted hours of business. After waiting around a while, hoping maybe someone just ran out briefly, here comes this kid who looks like he just rolled out of bed. It was 20 after 10am and the store was supposed to be open at 9am.
The store is nice inside, though not amply stocked. The crazy haired, sleepy eyed clerk was friendly enough though certainly not what I would call helpful. We were all in the market to try on and purchase wetsuits. At the very least, rent them. Wetsuit rental cost over $ 70! I’m new to the sport but that seemed pretty steep. Didn’t matter though, they only had a suit that fit one of us and it was a BlueSeventy purchased for full retail price, along with several other products bought by us all. One such item being a pair of $ 38 swim goggles for my self. We then asked him if there were any other tri stores around, to which the clerk said there was not. We quickly found Tri-​Zone in Los Alamitos and they took excellent care of us, had a better selection, as well as having far better pricing ($ 30 7-​day wetsuit rental for starters). Tri-​Zone is a better place to spend your dollars, period.
Fast forward to this afternoon. The $ 38 goggles I purchased the week before, leak like crazy. So I stop by to get them replaced. The guy (who I think was the owner) says it is their policy not to return any used products, and that I would only receive a discount for the purchase of another set. I’m a business owner and if I sell a product to a customer, I am anxious to replace it if they are unhappy. This guy told me I should have done a better job trying them on. Thanks for nothing. Tri-​Pacific lost my business forever. Tri-​Zone EARNED IT.
