When my spa stopped working I called West Coast Pool and Spa to come out and take a look. As a single woman I worry about being taken advantage of due to my lack of knowledge regarding mechanical issues. Mark came out was very friendly, diagnosed the problem right away and had it fixed by the time the kids came home from school. Everyone was happy and I now have a pool guy I can trust!!!

West Coast Pool and Spa is not detail oriented, does haphazard work and believes the customer is always wrong! Do not use them for any regular pool maintenance or pool repair. I hired this company to drain my pool, do a light acid wash, clean my filter, and re-​balance the chemicals in my in-​ground pool. He quoted me $ 450 over the phone but when he got to my house he said that the chemicals were not included and that it would be an additional $ 100. Not knowing enough about pools to do the entire job myself, I accepted his bid and he showed up to work a couple of days later. Well, after a couple of days of having «completed» the job I noticed that the water level dropped significantly. After investigating, I noticed that the pool filter had a major leak. Having cleaned my filter in the past, I began the process of dismantling the filter to see what the problem was. Well, it didn’t take me long to notice that the rubber ring that goes around the filter seam was not there which is what was causing the leak. I called the guy immediately to let him know that that the filter was leaking and that the rubber ring was missing. He told me that it had probably fallen inside the filter. I told him that I’d looked inside and that the part wasn’t there. He was quite surprised to hear me say that I had looked inside. He kept on repeating that I should «look again» but didn’t offer to come and fix his sh*ty job. After going back and forth a bit, I decided to hang up and fix it myself. I bought a rubber ring at the pool store for five dollars and the filter is working fine now. Bottom line, save yourself the trouble and find someone else. This guy will only bring your headaches and an expensive bill.

It took me a while to write this review, but I felt the need to do so. My experience with West Coast Pool & Spa was horrible. The guy running this business is unprofessional and cannot take any criticism of his workmanship. As a paying customer, I expect a certain degree of professionalism and work product. Well, West Coast pool lacks both. I called the pool guy to complain that he was not spending adequate time cleaning the pool and that the pool still had some cleaning issues. Well, the pool guy retaliated by saying that I was undermining this workmanship and further said that «this relationship would not work» and recommended to ME to look for a new pool guy. What nerve. I needed someone immediately, and I offered to mediate the situation. Well, he was too hurt by me suggesting that he was not doing good enough work to justify the advanced monthly payments that he still REJECTED my request to do a one-​time cleaning for that day. In short, if you are dealing with this company, or are considering their services, I suggest shying away to avoid headaches with their business practices.

I dealt with these people some years ago. They were unreliable and lied about having provided service when I had proof they had not even been to my property. When I called to ask about it, they were abusive and hung up on me. I now have a great service which is pleasant, reliable and professionally run.
