We LOVE going to Ada for her chicken stew and delicious Ethiopian food. Hard to come by places like these!

I went here for Ethiopian food but they do not serve the Ethiopian menu every night so I had to order from the Latin American menu. Food was tasty but a little salty. Then I went back on a Thursday when the Ethiopian menu is available and I ordered an Ethiopian dish — stewed beef with onions and the injera bread. The Ethiopian food was very good and the injera bread had a unique sourdough flavor that I found myself craving several days later. This place is definitely worth trying on one of the nights when they serve the Ethiopian menu.

On my way to Unilocal’s Staycation in Ocean Place, I spotted a Dominican flag and thought«interesting». I then saw it was a Dominican/Ethiopian restaurant and thought«Wow. I have no choice but to try to this out.» Despite knowing there would be free food in 3 hours, my friend and I decided to make our way back out for this one-of-a-kind restaurant. I didn’t even check Unilocal reviews. How’s that for courageous? I’m so glad we did. We had goulash with injera and mofongo with bacalao. Both were packed with lots of flavor. Texture was on point. The injera was strong enough to stay together when used as a vessel for the goulash. Goulash had good depth of flavor. The mofongo had a good mix of tender and crunchy parts. Bacalao was cooked perfectly — not overcooked, not undercooked. The fact that Ada, who is of Ethiopian descent, was able to also pick up Dominican food the way she did is a testament to her talents as a chef. Ada can definitely cook. Her and her staff were also very pleasant. Highly recommended! I would definitely go back here when I’m in the area.

This is the best dining value in Monmouth county(in my humble opinion). You’ll get delicious home-cooked Ethiopian and Dominican food for incredibly reasonable prices with BYOB options. The service can be a little slow as they typically do it themselves and can get very busy. Also, there are only 5 or 6 tables, so on busy nights you may have to wait a while. We almost always get the Ethiopian platter for two with chicken, beef, and a vegetarian dish for $ 19.00. It’s always fantastic and a generous portion that we try our best to finish. The plantains have been perfect every time we’ve ordered them, and the empanadas are stellar as well. This is my top local recommendation for people who care more about the food than the atmosphere or being seen.

One of my friends recommended Ada’s to me last night, and I couldn’t wait to try it. Wow is an understatement! Ada has delicious, fresh Ethiopian and Dominican food. I had an Ethiopian vegetarian entrée and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. There was so much flavor in the vegetables and the injera was out-of-this-world! Ada herself is warm, friendly and very gracious. I could feel the positive energy of this place the moment I walked in. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Unbeknownst to us, Ada’s has been a presence in Long Branch, but yet we just learned about it. OMG … We just found our favorite hot spot. Our party of 5 had meat eaters and vegetarians among us … And we each had a delightful explosion of delectable flavors in our mouths. The vegetarian injera dish is a true Ethiopian meal … Home made by Ada herself. The dishes were freshly made and perfectly seasoned. And she is a delight and great company. Ada’s Latin Flavor is a must!

Our favorite place on the shore. We love Ethiopian food and it’s one of the best. Injera is authentic, fresh, spongy, Ada makes it herself unlike at some other places where they buy and freeze it. Please keep in mind that Ethiopian food is available only Thu-Sat. Everyone is so friendly, we always feel like at home. Enjoy!

I heard great things about this place, I went with friends who couldn’t believe how off this place was on the night we were there. When peering in the back they said the owner was here … Place was empty food took 50 minutes to come out, portions were small and extremely salty… I won’t return…

The food is amazing here! Everything was fresh, delicious and authentic. Service was prime. We were a party of 7– 4 adults– we all ordered different forms of mofongo– and so pleased with all the flavors and variety… Highly recommended!!!

Holy. Oh. My. Goodness. I’ve had Ethiopian food many times before, but this is by far the best that I have had. Most light and airy injera. And the spices ughhhhhhhh. The empanadas were delicious, not greasy at all. Their fresh salsa is. And don’t get me started with the yucca cakes. If you thought yucca frita was good… Wait until you’ve basically had yucca latkes. Topped with sour cream and fresh delicious salsa, I could eat these for breakfast lunch and dinner!!! Highly recommended. Super casual, affordable, and delicious authentic food.

Kids had seconds of rice and beans! Good was perfectly seasoned, fast and super friendly service! Absolute love! Mofongo was on point, flans were creamy and not too sweet, empanadas(chicken and beef) were both delicious !!

Great authentic Ethiopian cuisine as well as some Spanish/Dominican options. For example, I had friend chicken and French fries. The food was particularly good, atmosphere is neat, clean, small. Not very crowded, we brought kids who were contained easily which was helpful. bYO too!

Really like the atmosphere, very relaxing set up. The owner of the restaurant was very welcoming made my lunch even better cause they stayed to talk about the restaurant itself with me and my gf. The food was delicious order empanadas, platanos, and two ethiopian dishes. However, I went when it wasn’t busy but the seating in the restaurant seems a little cramped. But overall really enjoyed this place and would definitely go again soon.

They got the Empanadas right! Crunchy and flaky on the outside, hot ground beef filling on the inside. No potato inside like some others. So perfect for meat lovers. Medium in size. Good for the $ 2.50. Homemade sauce compliments it well. Didn’t try the chicken… yet.

Day: Friday Meal: Lunch Food: Goulash:($ 12) Lean Beef cubes Sautéed with onions, peppers, tomato, garlic, ginger, rosemary and Served with side of spicy awaze sauce and salad — Delicious and flavorful — really easy to eat with my hands! I was so full after this entrée. Left completely satisfied! The restaurant itself is small and casual. Nothing fancy or special. Overall cleanliness was okay. I would come again if I was nearby. However, I wouldn’t travel out of my way to get here. They also have a Latin menu!
