Had a great to days at the resort! Everyone very nice very helpful. We had a room on the 9th floor coastal view which was great, dont need to spring for the ocean front the coastal view is great. Didn’t spend much time in the room anyway. It’s nice that dogs are allowed and you hardly saw them they stay on the second floor apparently. We recieved a red bracelet on arrival and we were told to wear it everywhere to show staff we are staying there. Both days on this glorious PRIVATE beach we tipped the guys who got us chairs towels and umbrellas and a great view, only to have outsiders park their lawn chairs right in front of us. THey stood out like a sore thumb, no blue lounger no blue and white towels and no bracelets. My husband finally said something to them. When I was leaving the beach two women asked«if we bought a drink form the tiki bar can we use your beach… ugh! The hotel is worth the privacy and convienence you pay and they should really have someone check the beach and remove people who don’t belong. I will be back I cant wait it was great.

So close. This place could be so great, but it has to get its service straightened out. They clearly have a lot of bodies hired– staff in blue shirts are all over the place– but they are just bodies at this point. They either wander aimlessly or cluster in groups in the employee areas. It is nearly impossible to flag someone down, whether it be at the pool bar, the tiki bar, the restaurant or on the beach. Even worse, many will not make eye contact or even acknowledge that they see you. The most egregious example of bad service was room service. On our first morning we ordered room service that supposed to arrive around 8:45. We called to check on it at 9:15 and we’re told it was being cooked. At 10 we called again and the manager said he apologized and would«personally oversee» our order. At 10:45 we called again and they asked for us to repeat our order so they could make it right away. We finally had free cold French toast and sausage at 11. There were also multiple fire alarms. The room itself was clean and beachy, if a smidge dated. The bed could be better, but it isn’t terrible. Our air conditioning worked great and the view from the balcony was beautiful. The location is nice — right on the beach and the boardwalk has tons of restaurants. Parking was no problem. It could be a 5 star spot. Instead it’s a 2.5 star spot at a 5 star price.

I love this place so much! Excellent hotel, fabulous customer service. Just had Cassie on the line, helping me make some adjustments to my reservation, and I felt like I had my sister on the line making sure everything went smoothly. So wonderful! This place is a not-so-hidden gem. If you need extra help on the reservations by phone, ask for Cassie!!!

I think the 3 star review is spot on. It’s just not a 4 star hotel. Our room and the halls were hot all night. The AC doesn’t work well in the rooms. They stopped serving on the beach at 1:30 on a beautiful day without any appearance of a storm. The spa is being renovated. The pool is closed for a private event. Don’t take your drink from the bar to the beach. The don’t serve any late night food that we could find so dominos was our only option and everyone oogled our food. The parking is great. The staff seemed nice and helpful. I think if you just expect a 3 star hotel, knowing you’re paying for a 4 star++ then you’ll be ok.

Surprised to see the bad reviews. My experience was the polar opposite… From the moment we checked in, until departure, the service was EXCEPTIONAL. I went for a girlfriends bday weekend, and upon arrival I casually mentioned my friends bday to the front desk. About 1 hour later a knock at the door with a friendly happy birthday greeting, a bottle of Chardonnay, strawberries with dipping cream & caramel. all courtesy of the resort. We booked massages at the spa(currently under construction but did not effect any part of the treatments), and it was one of the BEST massages I’ve had. It was so relaxing, I was almost sleeping(I don’t fall asleep easily) and think I even drooled on the floor a little. Good room(we requested top floor prior to check in and received), nice view, cute shops & restaurants right outside the door, private beach with chairs, towels, tables and beach bar service(HELLO). The outdoor restaurant and Tiki bar were consistently busy, but not uncomfortably congested and live band in the evening. Friendly service, cold drinks and an overall perfect atmosphere for little getaway. I’d absolutely return for some sunshine and R&R.

Anthony at the Sea View Lounge was excellent! Best bartender — very quick with drinks and helpful with ordering food. The lobster roll and seafood soup had so much lobster in it, I can’t believe it! Delicious food, great drinks, great live music! Carnival Dogs were awesome!!! Highly recommended for a good night out with friends.

Don’t even worry about getting the room you booked. This place has the customer service level of a Wal Mart. Spend your money elsewhere unless you have too much money and too little common sense. More cons: Paper thin walls Kids everywhere Sketchy parking Rude staff Dated rooms Pros: Good views

I was at ocean place for a conference and I must say the hotel did a very poor job of managing the booking process for conference attendees. In fact the attendance was lower than expected due to the hotel drastically mishandling the booking process. However, the venue itself is great. The rooms are nicely renovated and the setting and food at the restaurant is fantastic. I can’t speak to the normal pricing at this hotel as we paid a lower rate as part of the conference we attended.

Ocean Place has really outdone themselves! This resort at Long Branch, NJ is really a great pic for a family stay at the beach. The hotel staff is very helpful and really tried to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We decided to get in a mini-vacation with some friends that came form Ohio in February(yes, not the best month to stay at the beach). We rented a room with two queen beds, and front view. I did think the prices would be a little lower, considering the cold weather, and the resort did seem a bit empty as this is just not high season, but I guess the price was fair considering this is technically a resort, with spa, indoor and outdoor pool, restaurant and many lounge and meeting room areas. We definitely enjoyed the indoor warm pool and the hot tub, big enough to fit about 15 people comfortably and is open until 9 or 10 pm I believe. The room we initially received, was pretty great, but I noticed that the view of the ocean was not the best form the beds as what you would see was the wall form the room next door. I called the front desk, and they immediately found us another room which had perfect uninterrupted views of the beach. Sadly, we lost the really big bathroom of the first room and the bathroom in the second hardly had counter space(too late to go back). We also had to call as the ice machine(a fridge in the hallways with ice bags) was empty and the front desk sent us a bag. We did wait a while and had to call back as we never got it, but it seemed that the bag was delivered to our first room. No big deal, the front desk then offered complementary breakfast vouchers for all of us due to the inconvenience. Let me just say, the fact they had already agreed to give us a different room after we had already been in the first for about 2 hours and then offered free breakfast because we waited about 20 minutes for ice… I was not bothered at all. I gave no tone or attitude, I just called to see where the ice bags were. This is exactly what client service is all about! You don’t need to wait until too many things happen before you react. The staff’s proactive attitude is really the #1 reason I would recommend this resort any day if staying in the area. Hopefully, that does not change. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet the next day, which included a cooked on the spot omelet and waffle station, as well as fruits, yogurt, bacon, sausage, bagels, toast, french toast and other bites. We also got a late check out which was very helpful, considering we needed some time to pack up form our one night stay. Some side notes: The money that they invested was well spent in the common areas but sadly, I wish they had put in a bit more into the rooms and making them a bit more enjoyable. As it stands, they are very spacious and comfortable, but I do feel that they are basic, just the essentials, nothing special,(except for the views form the balconies). I felt a bit like the rooms was straight out of Ikea, clean and sleek, yet just looked like things could break easily or lower quality. Again, great space, just the room was a bit lackluster(e.g., hang a seashell picture frame, or change the blue and white colors throughout the rooms). This would incredibly raise the value of the hotel and the desire to come back. That ice box, looked a bit rusted on the sides, considering the box contains the ice we will use in the rooms, not sure I felt that I wanted ice from it, I do like that it’s not the regular noisy ice machine, but yeah, I was a bit reluctant to use ice from there(though on our floor there was no ice anyways, guessing cause not so many guests so no need to refill them) Best staff at a hotel since I have stayed at. I felt like I was at a Kimpton Hotel, which is my go-to hotel as of late. I was looking to stay at a nearby boutique hotel which was beautiful and modern, but definitely lacked many of the amenities of staying at the resort(main one being that direct view to the beach). Highly recommend, and most probably will be back!

We stayed here back in January for the Unilocal staycation weekend event! Wow, this place was pretty nice! You can tell it’s been renovated and redesigned. Can’t beat the view as when you walk in you’re greeted by a large lobby with a giant glass chandelier hanging overhead with a chic open space seating area. A few feet from that is the long bar that anchors the main floor and the dining area behind it. Fireplaces. Fun giant oversized chess/checkers board. Pool table. Damn, just through the windows offers a great view of the beach and boardwalk. They even have their own tiki bar out there. A quick walk over next door to the Pier Village, shopping, eating, drinking spots. I definitely want to come back here. It’s no wonder this place is über expensive during the summer season. I did check the rates on their website after the event — OUCH!!! $ 400+ for a weekend night? For Long Branch? There goes that idea. Sorry, but as nice as this place is that is way too steep. You gotta be kidding, right? Still, there are so many positives here that outweigh the cons which might make me splurge on a weekend getaway. Super quick train ride from Manhattan. Cheap cab ride to hotel from train station. Complimentary shuttle service to and from Long Branch Train Station(when available). Complimentary parking. Terrific front desk staff. Very friendly and helpful. In fact, all the staff is great here. Modern look. Very clean. Well appointed gift shop/store. Decent food offered by restaurant. Nice gym on site. Free wifi. Business Center. Very nice guest rooms with balconies, outlets everywhere, and well designed bathrooms. Room delivery/food service offered late nights from nearby restaurant. Indoor heated pool and hot tub. Outdoor pool. Childrens play room if bringing the little ones. Pet-friendly rooms also offered. If I could get some sort of special deal, or discounted weekend summer rate package I would love to come back here. For now, I’ll relish in the Unilocal Staycation memories of our time here.

We came for a recent Unilocal event and got an awesome rate for a Sat night stay. I have never been to the area and was excited. The hotel is beautiful and rooms were very nice. I liked the pool table and checkers/chess area. We booked a room with a king bed and sofa bed but when we got to our room, there was no sofa. They put us in another room within about 10 minutes which was good. When the time came for the kids to go to bed, we realized there were no linens or pillows for the sofa bed. So, again, we had to call down to the front desk at around 9 at night to bring up linens. They already knew we were planning to use the sofa bed, we should have linens in the room already. Pretty annoying. The king bed was super comfortable and we slept well. I loved the indoor pool… the room was heated great even if the pool was a tad chilly. The heated soaking tub felt amazing though. Their buffet breakfast was good, plenty of options. Pricy, though…$ 30 for adults! I think that is too much if no seafood is provided. The day we checked out, my daughter and I used the pool one last time and when we came back to shower, there was no hot water at all. I even let the water run for 5 minutes and the best temperature was cool water. Needless to say, we had to take a very chilly shower which was unpleasant. I wasn’t going to waste my time calling the front desk as I don’t know how long it would have taken to resolve. Overall, I thought it was a nice place, liked the area, and shops/restaurants. A few issues though that hampered the stay.

I was here for a Unilocal event in the winter, so I can’t speak to any summer amenities. But I stayed 2 nights here and enjoyed both. Our first impression of the hotel walking in was the gorgeous lobby and chandelier, it was modern, clean and welcoming. The next great impression was Erica at the front desk. She was bubbly, friendly and welcoming. She continued to impress all weekend, remembering our names and also with her great DJ skills! She is definitely a huge asset to this hotel. So is all service personnel. They were all friendly and accommodating. But, upon getting our room(716), we went up and just wanted to plop down. Alas, the keys didn’t work. Went down, the 2nd set didn’t work. Called and security had to come up. The battery was dead in the lock, so they had to go get the hard keys to use all weekend. A minor inconvenience however. I also heard others had this problem, so maybe locks need to be adjusted. The downside of this was housekeeping couldn’t get in. Luckily we were just coming upstairs when they were trying to get in. The hot tub was nice, but had quite a bit of sand in it, but it was still relaxing. As well as the indoor pool. The locker rooms and gym were both very nice. Our room was nice and had a great view too, could even see the city off in the distance. Although it’s weird seeing home from your getaway but still pretty. I echo others that when I first turned on the faucet a stream of brown came out, but quickly dissipated. The bed and pillows were both comfy. The bar is nice downstairs and the bartenders very friendly. The pool table and giant chess board were cool too. Brunch was really great, and they had crisp bacon, not regular buffet bacon! I was impressed! However, I understand that they are extremely pricey in the summer, upwards of 400 – 500 a night. While I liked the hotel and the staff, that is just too much for what it is. I don’t pay that much for anything in NJ, period. After a price tag like that for a weekend you could get on a cruise, go to the Caribbean, a variety of different things. So I think I may have to come here in the off season when it’s more cost effective and on par with what you get.

The devil is in the details. Just some fixes here and there would make the regular rates of Ocean Place more justified. The Pros: Nice modern look, especially at the lobby area, but still classy. I like the blue and white theme of the bedrooms — very calming. Room was clean as far as I could tell. The service was great and I can honestly say every staff member I saw at Ocean Place greeted me with a smile and were eager to help. I loved the indoor heated pool and hot tub. Super relaxing with nice ambient light. Unfortunately, the single shower they had in the ladies’ room next door was out of service. Proximity to Pier Village and beach was definitely a plus — no need to use the car and fight for street parking. The Cons: Turning on the water for the first time at the tub an unappealing stream of brown water gushed out. WTH? It ran clear again after a couple of minutes, but at the very least, if you know your pipes have problems, either fix it or have room service run the faucets for a couple of minutes to make sure the next guests’ first sight of your water is not brown gunk. Had a room next to the ice machine and it was audible from the door/bathroom area. Sound insulation is not great as other guests were talking outside their doors next door and we could hear everything. One single hanger in the closet. Really? Again, something really easy to fix in advance by housekeeping. Although this fee was waived for me, apparently Ocean Place does charge an additional«resort fee», which I don’t think given the amenities would have been justified. There is nothing special being offered here(pool, fitness room, parking), that one couldn’t find in a lower-priced hotel without the need to pay an additional fee. So-so: I thought the food and drinks at the hotel were ok. Not fantastic, but not terrible either. Overall, I think Ocean Place has a good foundation in customer service and overall presentation, but it needs meticulous attention to the little details. Not the place for a budget-conscious traveler but if you have money to spend, it’s not too bad.

Many positives and many negatives about this place. Positives: How easy it is to park here, big lot right outside, right to the point. Very clean hotel, spotless to say the least. The lobby and the rooms were pristine. Rooms were pretty, very modern and the balcony did give us a small, but perfect view. Happy hour at the bar in the lobby. The hot tub and indoor pool are small, but nice. Deff a great way to relax. Theres a small tv/lounge room, a pool table and a big ches/checkers board for kids to play with downstairs… or adults! The breafast brunch/breakfast is absolutely delicious! I was very impressed with the selection of items and how good the food was. Mainly the salmon, made to order omelettes, desserts, and other breakfast items. Express check out via your tv. This is easy and conveinevent! Staff seemed to be very nice and helpful for the most part. Negatives: How cold the rooms were, my room specificlly would not put on heat and took forever to even reach 75 degrees. We heard from other people that they didnt even have heat in their rooms. Im thinking theres a draft with the sliding doors for the balcony. TVs in the room. They are outdated, only have about 15 channels, terrible quality and annoying to use. We were standing in front of it and still having difficulty changing channels and trying to get around the channels. Blankets on the bed. Well should i say lack there of, basically no comforter, just some sheets and a thin blanket if you will. We stayed here in January and there wasnt a thicker one on the bed.

Im impressed with the renovation, free wifi to perfection, strong reception even in the room. Got the fabulous beach front veranda, spacious room, straight forward interior, descent stand up shower room(I don’t like tub anyway) staffs were phenomenal. Love the interior of the indoor pool. Love the bar. Love the idea that it is in front of the boardwalk and the stretch of bars, you can even buy burgers at 4am! Going back to the hotel, Awesome cocktail foods, dinner buffet is really good, definitely coming back for summer with my family. Thank you Ocean Place Resort, Thank you Unilocal!I put 4 stars to give some room for more future projects. Brunch buffet is great!

We stayed here for a winter escape and we will be back. The hotel was sold out and you would never have known with the incredible service provided by the staff. The location can’t be beat. There are great restaurants all within walking distance at the Pier Village. The spa, soon to be new and improved, is peaceful and accommodating. The food is delicious and sleeping rooms are spacious. Gorgeous indoor pool and fitness center too with no extra fees. Great free wifi as well. The boardwalk is great. I look forward to visiting in the warmer weather but it certainly was a great escape in the off season as well.

I only stayed in this lovely hotel for one night, but I can say that this staff goes above and beyond to please its guests! This includes, but is not limited to: 1. supplying us with extra towels; 2. providing us with 2 extra blankets we requested, but did not need; 3. giving us TWO options for munchie deliveries that could be brought right to our room door after midnight… in New Jersey; My overnight at Ocean Plate was for an Elite Event: Staycation July in January and I can see how beautiful this hotel is, even with gray skies and the winter wind chill. The beaches were gorgeous and the hotel offers magnificent views of the water. It was so peaceful to be out on the balcony, taking in the fresh air and the ocean view. The hotel is within walking distance of several bars, boutiques and restaurants so there’s plenty to keep you busy during your stay here. I think it would be heavenly to experience this newly renovated hotel in the summer months. Clearly, there was no outdoor pool action happening, and we were too busy chasing happy hours to fit indoor swimming into our daycation. Beds were super comfy, shower was nice and spacious and most importantly, everything was CLEAN, CLEANCLEAN! Decent drawer space, and closet space for a hotel room. Everything you’d want in your vacation room. The blankets were so thin, we didn’t notice they were even on the beds until we got into them– and that’s when we asked for blankets. Once we were under these thin, waffle-patterned blankets, we realized how warm and effective they were. I so appreciate the young man who was working last night who provided us with the menu for Jr.‘s(local burger/chicken/salad spot). They deliver until 4 a.m. — so clutch!- and aren’t half bad. I got some kind of mini crispy spicy chicken slider on a pretzel bun + fries. Can’t complain. I mean, I was far too wrecked to eat more than a few bites, but the ones I remember before face planting into the bed, were quite satisfying to this vacationing lush. Overall, I had a wonderful stay! The lobby bar is reasonably priced and bartender Enza is a doll. If I ever felt like a getaway at the Jersey Shore(not likely), I would consider staying here again.

This hotel was pretty impressive. Here for an event, this review is for the facility. The grounds are well kept, the parking lot needs work though. The inside is very nice, bright, warm and full of happy staffers that are always willing to answer a question. Check in was a breeze. Getting a keycard reactivated also easy. Fast elevators and clean. Stayed on the 5fl– a bit of an ocean view with a small patio. Beds are comfy. Minus one star for no hot water at 10:30am. None. Taking a fast cold shower on a cold winter day isn’t inviting. The brunch offered was delicious. The salmon and egg station were my faves as were the fresh fruits available. Table server was ok, didn’t get water or tea refills on time but it wasn’t important. Would come back– would recommend. There were several large groups celebrating that weekend… Interesting.

I don’t use the hotel however I use Ocean Place spa services and must say am utterly shocked at how they let the hotel look so rundown especially during the peak summertime. I understand they are undergoing some construction however the beach chairs and outdoor amenities were so decrepit looking it was embarrassing. The spa was okay. A little pricey for a massage that seemed rushed and was mediocre in general. I got deep tissue but the group of girls I was with received all different treatments from Swedish massage to facials and nobody was«wowed»… In addition to the mediocre services they didn’t allow us to use our lockers for the rest of the day despite the fact that we had access to the spa facilities — does that make sense?- obviously not, but that just goes to show you the terrible customer service they have. Overall I am shocked at the terrible experience we had today. We’ve gone in the past and have had nothing but positive things to say. Unfortunately I do not think we will return. Maybe if they let us use the lockers for the day I would be less bitter about the situation, but it was a Monday and there are 70 vacant lockers… I don’t think I can overlook this one Ocean Resort.
