What a treasure this place is! My Irish-American mother and I make sure to stop by a few times a year. The staff is so passionate about Ireland and works very hard to make customers feel connected to their heritage. You could spend hours exploring Paddy’s — they’ve got everything from books to clothes to decorations to family crests to music and much more!

This cozy shop in beautiful Historic Long Grove will bring you back to the Old Country. Every time I’ve been in, I hear the awesome Irish accent from not only the employees and owners, but from customers, as well. That should tell you something! They stock anything Irish you could think of– family crests, knit wool sweaters, CDs, DVDs, mugs, stickers, books, and even Irish peat for your fireplace. And, everyone is always exceptionally friendly and helpful. The prices aren’t bad, either. Make sure, when you stop in, you check upstairs. They have lots of bargains and special deals. If nothing else, the second floor is even neater and more cozy than downstairs. Yeah, I love the architecture here as well as the wares. Grab some whiskey chocolates and tea, too!

I adore this shop. The staff has been friendly at every visit, knowledgeable and willing to help — even to get jewelry out of the cases — just ask! I have been very happy with the wool socks and knot work scarf with claddagh slide for me and my husband loves the hand tooled leather belt and knot work buckle. I love the woven wool hat I bought four years ago so much I went back for the same in two more colors. Today we went in to pick out a claddagh ring and it was exactly what I had in mind. She even gave it a courtesy polish!

This store has great stuff, but the staff is SO rude! My mother and I were shopping for jewelry. We first went to the sister store, the Irish Boutique, and were completely ignored. No one asked if we needed help, or asked if they could get anything out of the jewelry cases. We were so put off that we left, and decided to go to Paddy’s. Again, completely ignored. We were enjoying looking around however, until the woman behind the counter said her first words to us, «we close at five you know!!» It was 4:40. Needless to say we left without buying anything. We won’t be back.

Faith and Begorrah! If it’s Irish goods ye be needin’, Paddy’s is the shop you’ll be wantin’ to visit. *end bad Irish accent* Seriously though, this two-story shop in Long Grove’s Fountain Square has all the Irish goods you could want, including a plethora of tweed caps, wool sweaters, books & music, jewelry, baby gear, home décor, soccer(football) accoutrement, _Quiet Man_posters… the list goes on. You couldn’t ask for much more, short of an instant transport to the Emerald Isle itself.
