Cute little shop. Fudge, candy, variety of fresh kernels to pop your own & small selection of their made popcorn. Popcorn is fresh & good.

They must be kidding?!! I took a trip with my kids to the Long Grove village tavern for lunch and stumbled upon this shop after some decent shopping and walking around. We weren’t expecting the world-just a lil popcorn to nosh and a soft drink to sip. The smallest bag of plain corn was expensive and STALE — very DRY and tasteless, like a cardboard box. Seriously? It wasn’t even as good as air popped, microwave, stove top or theater popcorn. How does a popcorn shop FAIL at making basic popcorn? I mean, how much can it cost to pop a fresh batch? There was no one else in the very tiny popcorn shop and we weren’t in a hurry. Neither of the two people behind the counter considered the freshness of the popcorn about to be served, saw customers come in to the empty shop and popped a new batch. They just wanted to ‘dump’ the last of the bin on the next unsuspecting chumps who’d buy it. Instead of acknowledging us,(probably the owner-a middle aged woman and a young man) talked amongst themselves. Again, they couldn’t be bothered to pop and serve us a hot, FRESH scoop of popcorn. Insulting. We ended up tossing the dried out popcorn to the birds and squirrels. The long grove popcorn shoppe gives long grove a bad name.

So many popcornsssssss! If you don’t know me at all, I’m obsessed. I eat microwave popcorn like almost everyday and I own like 3 air poppers. Ridic. BUT I can’t have blue cheese popcorn at home, now can I? Maybe if I got real crafty… but I’m kinda lazy at home. My pinterest pins go unmade… and I just pinned peppermint popcorn. Too bad I’ll never make it. Sigh. This little shop in Long Grove has tons of different flavored popcorns. Many brightly colored fruity flavors as well as different cheesy varieties. I went with the blue cheese, which I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like cuz I’m not that into blue cheese… but I felt like I needed to give it a try. It was actually really good. Not over powering like it is in some salads… silly rabbit food. They also sell popcorn for air poppers… or the stove I guess. They had some fancy varieties that I was pretty tempted by. If I go back soon I might have to pick one up. One thing that shocked me, they sold microwave BACON popcorn. I have no idea how it is, but I have had some gourmet bacon popcorn before and it was pretty amazing sooooo you should probably check it out!

While enjoying a visit from some friends, we decided to try the Long Grove area for some relaxed walking and shopping. I decided to stop in to the popcorn shop to grab a surprise for my sweetie, who opted to stay home and make sure the xbox was in good working order. I was overwhelmed by the inventive flavors, smells, and how incredibly busy the shop was. After some deliberation I decided to try the toffee and the tutti fruti. Both were really good. Great flavor, nice pop, and I didn’t feel too sick or too guilty after a handful(or three). The tutti frutti was so pretty — I cannot wait to have a party and set this out as the party snack! The service was very good, and the place is poppin’!

I came across this place quite on accident! I stopped at Apple Haus to pickup our Thanksgiving pies, and noticed the Popcorn Shoppe sign. I thought«Hey, I have a few minutes why not go check it out» — as I am a die-hard popcorn fan!(And by die-hard I mean I’ve driven downtown JUST to get Garrett’s popcorn and then turn-around to come back home.) The place is adorable! It’s tiny, errr«quaint». A lady who I can only assume was the owner was there, offering assistance. She seemed friendly enough. There was a vast selection of different flavored popcorn — flavors I’d never seen before! I’m not crazy for all the fruity crap — but once I saw the caramel popcorn it was a DONEDEAL. Now, mind you, it was like $ 12 for a Medium size bag — Ouch. So I opted for a small $ 6 bag to try. And I also got a $ 4 Kettle corn to try. Once I got home I started munching away — and they are both VERYGOOD. I will certainly be coming back! This could very well become my newest favorite spot. This store is quite fitting for the cute little town of Long Grove. I’ll totally support the local businesses. Don’t overlook this place! Skip the yucky popcorn place at Deer Park and come here instead. Cheers to my fellow popcorn addicts!

I heard about this little shop on . OK, so I was excited about the idea of a store that offered vegan popcorn flavors. So I went in with my friend over the summer, and the woman working the counter had to have inhaled too many sweets while working there — because she was all over the place. However, she’s part owner of the place and she was the nicest lady in the world. She literally let us try samples of the vegan popcorn flavors before we bought them. A little bag was $ 6.50 though — but that’s the price you pay for something special. The flavors I’ve liked/tried were, Tuti Fruiti, Chocolate, Vanilla, & Toffee. They can also customize your popcorn vegan(or non-vegan) flavor if you like — you just need to call ahead of time. A very friendly staff; helpful, energetic and sweet. Nice little store too, located in the midst of long grove down town area. Almost secluded really — but I suppose that’s what’s so neat about it. I recommend this store, because not only is the vegan popcorn wonderful, but the other popcorn flavors as well as fudge, definitely satisfy your hunger cravings.

I first had them at a friend’s house, they were so delicoius and addicting that I had to go and get my own. The shop is owned by family and all their popcorns are made with real ingredients. They had a huge selection of flavors such as sour cream & chive, blue rasberry, jalapeño, strawberry… etc. My favorite right now is definitely the blue rasberry flavor popcorn, but it may change since I still need to make my way through all their selections.
