2nd time here and so far so good the only thing is today they seemed rushed. I like the fact that they have. a live band music is good and the vibe is great. The only thing i dont like is that parking sucks around the area so be ready to pay to park

First time at this restaurant was last night — my friend and I really enjoyed the food, drinks, staff and view! We had the skirt steak and arepa appetizer and both were delicious. If u want something different venture out to this place. I look forward to going back. Well done Blend!

I’ve been trying to make a reservation for 7 days. I filled out their reservation form and was never emailed or called back. I called and a very rude girl told me that I have to wait because 2 weeks in advance is too far away … really ? I called again today, only to have the phone ring for over 3 mins then picked up and hung up on !!! As much as I would like to bring my party of 15 to this restaurant, I’m assuming by their lack of customer service, they really don’t give a damn !!! I’ll be taking my business somewhere else !

Beautiful place, food is decent, the service can use some improvement. Just got here for a 5:00 reservation didn’t get seated til 5:30, server didn’t arrive for food for 30 mins.

IDEAL for a girls night out! Atmosphere is so lively and the drinks along with the food are both awesome. Came with my girls one night and used our Unilocal offer for a free margarita. Let me tell you, it’s an actual size! Most of time when you use your Unilocal offer, the free item is super small and not as good as a regular item on the menu. Here however, it’s so different. The margarita was amazing and the food definitely matched up! Tried the churasco and the flavor was great, the portion was good too but I think they definitely need to cater to possible vegetarian customers. My friend had to order two appetizers to make a full meal for herself, which was pretty disappointing. But overall, the customer service was superb. Our waiter actually took back on of our plates and exchanged it for something that was more appetizing for us with out hesitation. Not only that, but they were not on our heads the whole night regarding shots either! We had dropped and broke a shot glass and they happily picked it up. They definitely understand how a girls night out can be ;)

Food is mediocre and not cheap. Presentation is very pretty but expectations for taste is not good. Drinks are lovely though so if you’re looking to come here for appetizers and drinks that’s fine. Ambience is very trendy! Atmosphere by the East River is gorgeous. Great hang out spot but not worth the money to spend on the food.

Ordered the strawberry Mango salad with a side of thick cut bacon. Proportion of salad and bacon was very good. Love the salad and the ingredients was very fresh. Would recommend to friends and definitely go back to try others on the menu.

Dark, sexy, intimate. It has a great vibe for singles. They have a happy hour that goes from 11 am until 5 pm on Fridays. That is awesome! I saw the menu for happy hour: sangria, margarita, capirinha, wine. All for a reasonable price. I ordered the Pinot Grigio! I love my experience there and wish I could again in a heartbeat. I want to try dinner next time I visit. Could I just say that it is hot in there?

Cancelled my valentines day Unilocal reservation which I made a month in advanced when i asked for an explanation they couldn’t give me one other than«we’re not excepting Unilocal reservations on that day» then had the nerve to tell me they were charging 158 dollars per person! Nope no thanks In response to your comment, I made a reservation on January 13th for February 14th soo ITIS a month in advance!!! we can agree to disagree, however it’s YOUR responsibility to make sure Unilocal does not accept reservations for that day. The fact that you personally came on here to respond to my negative comment obviously points out your negligence. I’m still not coming to this establishment and 150.00 «per couple» is indeed ridiculous!

I went with a group of friends last night for dinner. It was an impromptu gathering but we decided to take a chance on getting a table. When we arrived we were told it was an hour wait. We decided to have drinks at the bar. The restaurant was very full at that point but we managed to get some seats and enjoy drinks. The mocktail mojito was very good and only $ 5. My cousin enjoyed a mango mojito which she also said was very good. We were seated after approximately 30 minutes at a table near the window. The views were breathtaking and the city lights just gave an awesome touch to the décor of the restaurant. The waitress was friendly and came over quickly to take our orders. We had the skirt steak(3 orders) and one salmon dish. I also ordered the avocado salad. The salad is large enough for two to share and came with a nice vinegarrette and crispy shallots. The food arrived quickly as well. The first thing I noticed was the marinated flavor of the steak. It was a little more well done than I requested but it was tasty. The salmon dish was also good. We opted to skip dessert and asked for the check. Our meals were more than enough. The check came quickly as well. The only drawbacks were the tables were somewhat close to one another and it was a bit drafty where we were seated. Maybe something can be done to block the air from the entryway. Overall a great experience and I would definitely return!

From the view to the service to every last mouthwatering bite, I have nearly no complaints. Propelled by the overwhelming hoards of enthusiastic Unilocal reviews, I brought my husband here last night for his birthday and was not disappointed. With only a small, unobstructive strip of Gantry Park sitting between you and the East River, the city skyline serves as a spectacular backdrop to your meal. The panoramic floor to ceiling walls ensure that nearly every dining table gets a fair eyeful, so that there are very few undesirable seats in the house(but, of course, the tables by the windows are prime, so call ahead and politely put the request in for special occasions). My dish of choice was the salmon, which was so moist and tender that it seemed to have been taken off the pan the very second it finished cooking. Paired with a bed of shockingly green cilantro mashed potatoes, several sprigs of well cooked asparagus, and a sweet yet savory pineapple reduction, I positively attacked my dinner and could have eaten several more if my appetite had allowed. The decorative orchids on our plates were small, thoughtful gestures that lent themselves to a deepened overall appreciation for our meal, as did the regular check-ins and frequent water refills. Both of our entrees were brought to the table with frightening rapidity, causing us to wonder what sort of magic they were doing in the kitchen to so quickly yet so perfectly execute these dishes. On a Friday night, this was an obvious hot spot for couples and small parties, which, coupled with the adjoining bar and booming music, sometimes made the volume reach uncomfortably high levels during our visit. But aside from that small point, this was the perfect place to have a special dinner and would certainly make a return visit sometime soon for what looks like an enticing brunch menu. Note: Parking is extremely tough to come by in the area, so much so that even the valet($ 7 — paid upfront in cash) is at least a 5 – 10 minute queue. If driving, bear that in mind as you time your visit.

Initially wanted to celebrate a birthday dinner here but decided to do their«blunch» instead. The dinner was a bit pricey for my group starting at $ 60 per person without beverages, tax, and gratuities. Reserving for the big group on phone was also a hassle for some reason that week(it was in October). After calling multiple times and leaving voicemails, I finally got a call back and the manager was very helpful. He took down my email to send me more info. In the end, I opted for a one-on-one brunch, which I’m glad we did. For 2 people, I spent no more than $ 50 and we were satisfied. We ordered a brunch entrée, Churrasco & Eggs, and a lunch entrée, Arroz Con Mariscos. I’d recommend both if you’re a meat and seafood lover and want to try different options. The menu had a lot of variety, from light to more filling meals. I also checked in on Unilocal for a free drink! We ordered a guaya bellini and a blend sunset martini. The bellini is perfect for something light while the martini was stronger. The view was beautiful, with some minor construction at the time. The place itself was smaller than I expected. I would definitely come back when it’s warmer and try to sit outside for a better view of the city. Gantry State Plaza Park is right outside so if you’re waiting for seats, there’s a beautiful walk outside the restaurant!

Like everyone posted, parking is incredibly hard to find around this area. I listened to a fellow Unilocaler and decided to pay $ 7 for the valet and gave a $ 2 tip. So I guess $ 9 for parking itself. Kind of expensive imo but you pay for convenience right? The food here is pretty great. We ordered tostones on the side. They were a bit too dry for my preference and made me dehydrated. The mariscos con arroz was pretty good. It was a good amount of food to fill me and my sister up. We also checked in for a free sangria which was yum! I had the maduros and that was pretty good. We also ordered the arepas with egg Benedict. My sister enjoys eggs Benedict and she thought it was pretty good. I don’t enjoy them too much but their avocados were fresh.

Weppppppppppaaaaaaaaaaa(Great Job)!!! Channeling the Hispanic in me. Lol. Pulling up they offer $ 7.00 valet service. Don’t bother look for parking just let them do it for you. You will drive in circles if you try to find your own parking. I arrived with no reservations and the hostess told me my wait would be 1.30 minutes. I said cool. Shuffled to the bar and found a seat. The bartender mentioned the drinks and I heard Grey Goose and that was it. I had two of those drinks and it was delicious. Ladies room: there’s a restroom attendant. No toilet paper on the floor. Smelled good so I give them stars across the board. I was seated within an hour, the menu illuminates when you open it because the restaurant is very dark and intimate. Our food came out and it tasted awesome. I just discovered Pernil so I decided to try it. The pork was cooked to perfection and very tender. I was chewing and thinking of Ricky Ricardo. Zoned out thought about Lucy stomping grapes. Lol. I then had a Jenny from the block moment when I stood up to bust a quick move. Lol. I have a dance when I eat something good. My mouth was in party mode. The mussels were a different kind of taste. They put ground beef in it and minced tomatoes. It’s suppose to be an aphrodisiac but I didn’t feel any tingles anywhere. Lol. Maybe I chewed it wrong. –_– The view is awesome. I do wish it was summer so I could really enjoy the view. My overall experience was very good. I didn’t feel rushed and it wasn’t crazy loud. Everyone appeared to be happy and content as we left the building. Oh and the 3 lovely hostess at the front are keepers. They definitely are a good addition to the restaurant. First impression is the FOH!

Arriving later than we had planned, just on the south side of three o’clock, the hostess gave us that initial look of «Sorry, no more rooms at the Inn.» A forty five minute wait would have put our seating time past Brunch, so the adaptable two-some sauntered to the bar. Happy hour schedule is from eleven o’clock AM to seven PM? Have my eyes deceived me? No, they’ve not. Our bartender was a very pleasant young lass with a tall task of serving the bar food and drinks, whilst running food to the two tops directly behind us. Patience is a virtue and it’ll serve you well here at Blend. The Arepas Benedictos was appropriately sized to plate, not over loaded with heaping portions of filler. The side salad of mixed greens and the cup of fruit salad gave my pork and egg combo a nice balance. Eggs were cooked perfectly with a yolk that came out upon request. My dining partner was well into her Taquitos de Carne and remarked more than once on how enjoyable her dish was, coming from a Spanish gal that can throw down in the kitchen, her outward acknowledgment and mention holds definite weight. Three beers on tap is a little thin, however the decour speaks to a swanky, gentrified Long Island City restaurant — not a bar, a tavern nor tap-house. Its a tall industrially dark space, with forty foot windows and a panoramic view if Manhattan. As day changed into night, the white table lighting awoke lending a new look of class, sophistication and romance. A hundred little brightly lit ambassadors(table candles) of early evening greeted me as I left a full service water closet. Walking back to the bar, the moment felt like intermission of a Broadway opera just before the the throwing open of the curtains for the overture. Bellisimo. The crowd never did seem to ease, but with a little patience Blend in the Water should make its way on to your Brunch schedule.

My previous review for Blend on the Water disappeared so here I am again! I love this place. From reserving a table to the service to the food to the drinks, everything is perfect. I highly suggest making a reservation, even on a Monday, unless you want to sit at the bar and wait for an hour. OpenTable makes this easy and when you check in with the hostess, they text you when your table is ready as well as remind you to close your bar tab. The view makes this place that much better. Beautiful views of Manhattan. The inside is dimly-lit which gives it a romantic vibe. The menus light up to assist with this. The cocktails are good and STRONG. My personal favorite is the coconut mojito which has real shaved coconut floating around. The crispy arepas are THE appetizer to get. They are delicious in every possible way. For dinner I’ve had both the pernil and the pollo a la plancha. Both are delicious. I’ve also sampled their burger which is good but not something I would come here to order. The service is always spot on. The staff will check on you without being overbearing. They also don’t rush you to leave even though there is always a wait to get in. Valet is $ 7 but recommended if you’re driving(even though the 7 is right there). Awesome place.

Came here for a holiday party. Service was quick. Drinks, I ordered a Caipirinha(ask them if they can add some crushed strawberries in there to make it a Caipifruta). For the meal I ordered from the«blunch» menu(lol) the Arepas Benedictos. Super, super delicious. The Areaps are a bit different than I’m use to but they are crispy and since they’re topped with pouched eggs and the pulled braised short rib, you get a nice sauce to soften any hardness. Definitely recommend it. For dessert the table of the platter. If you get the platter, go for the brownie. It is incredibly soft. It seriously tastes like a snowflake, it melts in you mouth. Overall, great experience, food-wise. Will be back to see if it continues to be good when I have to pay for the bill. To give you an idea of the crowd and what people wore there for Blunch, it was pretty casual with mostly 20-something’s.

This is a great place to go for celebrations and special ocassions. Stunning city view and just jaw-droppingly beautiful once you walk in to the restaurant. I chose this place to celebrate our anniversary and the personal touches Blend made really made it that much more special. Once got seated(and really, every seat in the place offers a great view), we were given a ‘happy anniversary’ card. So cute! Our waitress was Alexis who is amazing. Great personality and it felt very welcoming to dine and celebrate here. She was so sweet and gave us complimentary, delicious champagne. She also made sure to check on us often to make sure we were ok. Great staff; really made our visit feel extra special. Their menus are so cool. Usually you can’t see a damn thing in dim restaurants but they have this awesome back-lit menu that really is a part of the experience. When you get your check, that lights up too! The food didn’t disappoint. Everything we ordered was delicious and not overly salty! Really good seasoning throughout and perfect portions. Guacamole — my husband loves guac and especially loved Blend’s limey zest guac. Very fresh. Crispy arepas — highly recommend. It. Was. So. Good. I think I’ll order several of this as my entrée next time. Perfectly balanced in taste, portion and bite. The arepas were fresh, crispy, flavorful and that mix of beef, cheese and avocado was heaven. Lobster spanish flat bread pizza — this was a good appetizer but wouldn’t order it again because of all the carbs. Gotta save room for entrees! But since it was our first time here, we tried it all. Not a lot of lobster pieces but good enough and liked the sprinkle of greens over it. Churrasco — well flavored, tender steak. Pretty good. I loved that dip or oil that came in one of the tostones. So good that I ate that entire thing. Rice and beans accompany this dish. Arroz con mariscos — this is their version of paella. Really worth it. Tons of seafood and perfectly seasoned rice. I like paella but hate ordering it at a lot of restaurants because of how salty it gets. This version was just right! Lots of food so we ended up taking this platter home. Even their takeout bag was cute. Overall, I’m so happy we celebrated at Blend on the Water and definitely coming back. Great ambience and service with delicious food at a reasonable price for the neighborhood and view.

Saludos y a pasarla bien!
