My family had the pleasure of staying here during Christmas and New Years and were wowed by the cleanliness and different amenities of the hotel. They also have continental breakfast which includes cereal, oatmeal, eggs, make your own waffles, breakfast sandwiches and fruit what more can you ask for? In addition, they have a fitness center, game room with x-​box and Wii, free wi-​fi, a laundry room and a 7^th floor view of the city. The neighborhood may not be picturesque but still safe. The subway station is real close literally I can throw a small rock and hit it. Five stops and you are right in time square. Ms. T, Stephen, and Marlon were all great. On our first night Marlon was able to get us a room with a view of downtown Manhattan even with our late check in due to our airline delay… one word, awesome!!! It is a hidden gem in the middle of a queens neighborhood without the inflated cost of downtown manhattan but still really close in proximity. If I would ever go back to the nyc I would definitely come back here… no question!

Friends were staying here for a 2^nd time because they absolutely loved their first stay in February. We met them to have dinner across the street at Dutch Kills Centraal.
It was a rainy gloomy night in a neighborhood that seems to be in the throws of rebounding. The hotel shined like a beacon through the fog and rain as we approached as it is very well lit.
The price is right at about $ 100 a night on this December 2015 weekend before Christmas. The rooms are spacious with a kitchen area including a fridge and microwave. It’s clean, simple, and cheery and just a great relaxing space.
Another plus is that It’s less than a block to the subway and about a 20 minute ride into Times Square. Very convenient if You are looking for a less expensive option to staying in Manhattan.

We love the concept of Home2 Suites and found our go to place to stay when visiting NYC!
One of the main things that we liked with this hotel was the spaciousness of the lobby, additional seating areas, and the size of the room. Often with hotels around NYC there are no places to sit and visit without having to go to a restaurant or coffee shop. H2S provides ample room to relax especially after a long day of visiting the city!
The room was very nice with a designated kitchen with a large fridge, sink and microwave (real plates & silverware). The room was large and very clean. Breakfast was included in the stay and included hot items in additional to the traditional continental breakfast items.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating throughout out trip. Limited off street parking is available at a charge.
The the location of the hotel is great and provides easy access to Manhattan with the 39AV metro stop less one block away. The N & Q lines service this stop and are only a short ride to Times Square. The neighborhood around the hotel leans to more industrial, but there are plenty of little shops nearby to grab something to eat. Plus Astoria, which has many wonderful eateries and a good night scene, is only a couple stops away. We felt safe walking back and forth between the metro stop and the hotel even later at night.
Overall we were very pleased with the price, amenities, and location of the H2S especially when compared to similar hotels on Manhattan.

Looks recently renovated, great staff, large rooms and government rates. Highly recommend.

Horrible stay. Why bother with confirming your reservation before you get on the plane when they give away your room when you arrive. What a disappointment for Hilton. Laughable because they ship you off to the other side of the city for a 1 night stay and you spend half of the next day trying to check into the hotel. Nobody at the hotel can give you a straight answer. Full of liars. When we got home shared the story with Hilton Honors. Funny when they get the same run around and manager refuses to call them back too. A real waste of money and value for Hilton. Total disappointment to the brand.

Super surprised by the negative reviews for this hotel. Let me preface by saying that for the last year, I’ve been traveling to NYC once or twice a month, multiple days at a time. I am a germophobe and the most important thing to me is the cleaniness of the hotel.
After staying at the Holiday Inn around the corner, HGI in midtown, Hilton near Grand Central, and a few others, this hotel is the cleanest facility that I’ve come across in NYC. The rooms are spacious, the front desk and breakfast staff are ALWAYS PLEASANT, and breakfast is of course included with your stay.
Sure, the hotel is not located in the nicest area but I wouldn’t call it unsafe. It’s about a block walk to the train and 5 or so stops to Times Square where you can pretty much access all the different lines. The nightly cost is less and you’re getting twice the amount of space.
Sure, it’s not a continental breakfast but there’s plenty of selection — premade sandwiches, yogurts, fruits, oatmeat, and make your own waffles. It’s free, get over it.
Parking is a lot easier and cheaper in the area. There’s a garage next door that’s 5 bucks cheaper but the guy on the night shift is a d-​bag so I refuse to park there. Holiday Inn refused to hold a spot prior to arrival, but Home2Suites is always happy to accommodate. I know they don’t actually «hold» my spot, but at least their bluff makes you feel valued.
THE TRUE CONS: I dont understand why they have those silly shampoo and body wash dispensers. They look cheap and remind me of being on a cruise. They could at least provide conditioner and lotion. The hallways are always way too hot (and I’m someone who keeps the thermostat at 75). I overheard the maintenance guy say that it was the ice machines. Think you could’ve figured out a solution by now.

Would give a ½ or 0 star rating if possible. Incompetence abounds. From front desk to management. If you have a problem they will look at you like you have 2 heads without any idea on how to address. Customers be prepared to propose and execute your own solutions. Also, better breakfasts have been served in a Russian orphanage. George Costanza was clearly in charge of designing and managing the parking. Be warned, if you use the hotel’s parking, you may not get your car out. Stay away.

BED BUGS BED BUGS BED BUGS!!! I’m not talking about only one bug either. My girlfriend stayed here and called me at about 2am for me to come pick her up because her bed was crawling with bedbugs. She realized this only after laying in the bed unfortunately. I picked her up and left all the clothes we could at the hotel for dry cleaning and disposed of the rest of the clothing when we got home. I managed to get bites (mind you I did not lay on the bed, my girlfriend did) which means that even after three showers the bugs managed to come home with her. When I explained this to Tracy, the general manager, her response was telling me I must have already had bed bugs before my gf’s stay. This is not only insulting but it is a false accusation. I work in this industry and she told me that «maybe once I grow in age I will understand why she cannot cover the cost of the items we had to dispose of.» (Hundreds of dollars) this remark was completely uncalled for. when I asked for a free stay at another hilton she basically laughed at me. I could go on and on about how unsanitary and unprofessional everything about this hotel is, but I will spare you. There are TONS of great hotels in NYC so when visiting I suggest you stay anywhere else but here.

We chose the H2S for the week after Xmas for the price, room size, kitchenette, complimentary breakfast, free wifi and proximity to subway station. The hotel is relatively new and boasts that it is located in an up and coming area. What we found was that the immediate surrounding area remained mostly warehouses and auto repair shops. There was a small convenience store across the street, a Brazilian BBQ restaurant & lounge next store that rarely had any patrons and a nice gastro pub (Dutch Kills Cetraal) on the corner. The subway station was a block away, which was very convenient. Lower Manhattan was five stops away.
We arrived early so our room was not ready and had our bags stored. We returned after 5:00 p.m. to find the refrigerator in our room still had frozen foods from the previous guests. There is a sign that states light touch up daily with full clean after 5^th night, but that did not excuse arriving late one evening with no toilet paper.
We received friendly excellent service from Fabian at the front desk, who throughout our week stay is the only stand out employee worthy of mention.
Overall we had a pleasant stay, in a very spacious room, but if looking for a hotel to explore the immediate surrounding area, the H2S may not be for you.

I travel for business every week always staying with the Hilton hotel family.
I was booked on a corner lower floor very noise and during the night an extra drop from the rain gutter made a very unpleasant sleep.

This past weekend I stayed at this lovely hotel, my experience was so good I wish I could of stayed longer than over night!
From the beautifully designed hotel suite to the great continental breakfast.
I would of gave it five stars, had the front desk been more friendly and had the body wash and shampoo that was given was travel size rather than dispensers in the shower. That took away from the at home feel and gave it more of a cheap motel feeling, as well as the cheap roll of paper towel we had in our kitchen and the disappointment we faced when there wasn’t actually a stove in the suite, we had to call for a single hot plate and single pan (it cost extra for more hot plates and pans, again not specified). But if cooking isn’t your main focus, you’ll definitely enjoy your stay here.
The mall isn’t to far about 15 min train ride and the heart of New York Times Square is only 30 mins away along the E Line. Although the neighborhood itself is kind of off shore and spooky. But transportation is close by, so don’t be alarmed. So all in all, this hotel is definitely a great stay. Totally recommend it!
