They are well meaning, but not worth the price. Pizzas are way too expensive, I had much better pizzas in LIC for half their price.

Steps above your typical NYC slice. Order at the window or sit down service available, have your pick. Good for families and kids. Clean dining room and bathrooms. Had a delightful white pizza slice cut square and heaped with ricotta and arugula. Slices run just under four bucks.

Just left L’inizio for lunch. The décor is amazing. Tom, the owner introduced himself and was super charming. We had 3 types of pizza by the slice, a side of meatballs(as good as Grandmas) and. Fabulous L’Inizio salad(greens, pear, Gorgonzola and walnuts) Will definitely make this one of our regular places. Can’t wait until spring to eat out in the back garden Oh. almost forgot– one of the best desserts ever — bread pudding with Nutella ’

There are many places in L.I.C. to eat what each place calls pizza. Poor quality, I don’t return. But this pizza restaurant is exemplary in the very thinnest crust topped with very creative combinations. Not overloaded with tomato sauce or dripping in too much cheese. What a joyous experience and each time you go its COSISTENT! WHAT A FIND, VERYPOPULAR. The wines are hand picked and luscious. They have an extensive beer menu. The staff takes care of you right away with an abundance of first class service and friendliness. Make this a MUSTSTOP! Anita, L.I.C.

I didn’t think I would like apple, bacon, walnut pizza but it turns out I love it. L’inzio has some creative slices with fresh ingredients. I prefer L’inzio to all other pizza in LIC. I love sitting outside in their backyard space.

Call me crazy but this pizza is a little too expensive for my taste. I did enjoy their pizza very much so don’t get me wrong. The inside of this pizza joint is very clean. They really do keep it very nice. The fine people who work there are very nice. They are more than helpful anytime you walk into this spot. They deliver as well if you don’t feel the need to stay at this spot. I do not think it is the best pizza in the area. sLICe is pretty awesome

Great local pizzeria! The owner Tom was wonderful! Great family atmosphere. The hot oil is fantastic! The sangria had fresh apple slices. I would definitely recommend L’inizios.

Our group stumbled upon this super cute pizza shop while embarking on the LIC brewery tour. Beer + pizza = a hard combo to beat. With an extensive menu, I teetered between a few options before going basic with a slice of their Nonna. Originally, I was hoping to get the artichoke, but it was one of the pies that they didn’t have available at the time. My slice was tasty, but I had serious food envy after looking at the honey/ricotta/arugula slices others ordered [and loved!] at my table. Alas, I can never eat much in one sitting, so I stuck with my single slice. If I’m ever back in the area though, I need to try that pizza!

I order delivery from here once in a while — their pizza is definitely on the gourmet side with the fresh mozzarella and light marinara sauce. It’s not bad but not the best I’ve ever had. This is possibly just a delivery issue but I recently ordered the chicken, balsamic, arugula pizza and it came sopping wet — it was like eating a pizza sponge: tomato juice was running down my arm the whole time and the bread was soggy and crust had almost no crunch. I’ll prob order from here again when I’m craving gourmet pizza in my neighborhood but probably not the grilled chicken pizza again.

This place might have the best pizza I have ever had(and I am from CT and have had plenty in New Haven for comparison). This place is in a nondescript area of Long Island City/Queens that we stumbled across in the middle of a brewery tour. You can buy pizza by both the slice or pie. They have both a bar and table service. When we went they had 11 beers on tap and sangria. Upon looking at the menu, my first instinct was to get the«Nanna,» which has a couple different cheeses and marinara sauce. However, my friends ordered the pizza with honey, ricotta, and arugula and I knew I had to order another slice… That slice was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cheese was arranged in marshmallow-like puffs around the corners with the arugula in the center and honey drizzled on the whole slice. The slices are a little small so your hunger might not be satisfied by just eating one. This is my only criticism. Service was fast and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend and go again.

My first experience with them was delivery and not so good, and then I had a few successful meals in-house, so I ordered delivery again and was NOT satisfied. The meatballs were so salty that my tongue was burning from the salt. My eggplant parmigiano hero tasted so disgusting I couldn’t have more than the first bite. So I’m just going to write this place off, I think.

Best pizza in LIC! I tried other places around, and this is definitely much better. The ingredients are all really fresh, you can feel it right away at the first bite. The dough, tomatoes sauce, cheese. Delicious. A slice of grandma is $ 4 I think. Maybe a bit pricy, but it’s so worthier.

Delicious pizza! Friendly staff! They deliver! The smoked mozzarella makes your slice gourmet and the sauce is like a marinara! Highly recommended! Bön Appetite!

Nice gourmet pizza options and an ever evolving menu make this a great addition to the neighborhood. New items and choices every time I visit. An absolutely beautiful space and a fabulous backyard.(no alcohol in the yard) I am told that a full menu will eventually evolve and I really look forward to it. Some of the highlights for me so far: Sauce is very good. Many inventive slices. Lots of good toppings to pick from and customize your slice. Super non alcoholic beverage selection.(great gourmet sodas and homemade lemonade) An amazing space to spend a little time in.

I actually travel here just for pizza– all the way from Staten Island. I first discovered this joint when I was in Long Island city for business. There never used to be any reason what so ever to be in this area, but Vernon Blvd has become someone gentrified with a bit of a hipster population. Anywhere where there’s hipsters, there’s got to be interesting food. There’s a some interesting shops. Anyway— there’s an impressive line up of all different kinds of slices and squares, some of which were very creative looking. There’s a beautiful outdoor garden in the back, weather permitting. One of the best pizza joints I’ve been to in some time now. Crunchy bottom squares. Fantastic authentic mozz cheese. Wonderful array of toppings.

The pizza here is good. Really good but the problem is that it’s not a lot of pizza for the price you’re paying. A slice can cost you anywhere from $ 3 to $ 5 and it won’t fill you up. As an average pizza fan, I like to pay somewhere from $ 6.00 to $ 8.00 to get full.

Pizza and I have been lovers for years and years. We began dating when i was a young teen. By the time I hit my mid twenties I have had many pizza lovers. More than my fat ass wants to admit. L’Inizio Pizzeria your now my new mistress. L’Inizio Pizzeria is one damn good pizzeria. We just happen to be in the area and the wife and I wanted a quick bite. L’Inizio Pizzeria to the rescue. I told the wife just pick a couple of different slices. No sooner than I said that, I took over and ordered. Everything just looked so good. Could now leave this important decision with the wife. Parma Prosciutto di Parma, organic baby arugula, Fior di latte, organic vine-ripened tomatoes, shaved parmiggiano reggiano, e.v.o.o. This was one awesome slice or as they say one al taglio delizioso. The combination of ingredients top with olive oil and a perfectly cooked crust made for a delightful explosion of flavors. The saltiness of the prosciutto with the crust and arugula, just yum, yum, yum. Nizza Shaved organic pear, pancetta, Gorgonzola, homemade mozzarella, crumbled walnuts, e.v.o.o. Another combination of ingredients that when done right just makes you say wow. That was so good. I can still remember the pancetta and crust combination with that slight hint of olive oil and shave parm on top. Salsiccia(Sausage) Homemade sweet and spicy sausage, homemade mozzarella, sautéed onions and peppers. Now I have the sausage roll in many pizzerias. Very standard. Bread wrapped around sausage. Done. It is usually filling, but lacks some mixture of flavor. The Rotoli Salsiccia was again just awesome. It was not only stuffed with ingredients it was fantastic. The sausage was quality and with fresh mozz; it was as good as it gets. Pa-ta-ta Roasted Yukon Gold potatoes, pancetta, Fior di latte, caramelized onions, rosemary, e.v.o.o. After finishing these wonderful tasting al taglios. I saw a fresh pie come out and it was the Pa-ta-ta. All I have to say is the sweetness of the caramelized onions with the crust and olive oil was out of this world. delicious. Did I like this place, no. I love L’Inizio Pizzeria. The quality of ingredients are there. This is not your typical slice joint. It is a pizzeria that sells al taglios with delicious ingredients. I must say that on this particular day i was hungry, no starving. I don’t know if it will be the same next time, but I can’t wait to go again and enjoy some of the BEST pizza I have had in a long time. DELIZIOSO…

Came here on the first week it opened. No doubt about it, they’re a great addition to the neighborhood selection. It isn’t what anyone would say as the best pizza they ever had but L’inizio did try. Their Tice ball was a tad bit too expensive for $ 6 per piece. Hopefully they already fixed that. Quite tasty, but not for that price point. My gvorite if all the slices we tried was the Nizza. A classic pizza topped with roasted pear, walnuts and Gorgonzola. It was surprisingly good. The others weren’t as memorable as the slice of Nizza. I will be going back for sure.

A wonderful addition to LIC. Newly opened and designed like a test kitchen. They have different selections of pizza with my favorite being the roasted pear and walnuts. They are mostly Sicilian or grandma slices but has a traditional New York style as well. Each slice runs an average of $ 4. For some added bells and whistles, they top off each slice with freshly grated parmesan and basil. You can eve opt to pour some hot honey or truffle oil. The pizza is good and each style has it’s own personality and flavor… BUT it’s definitely not the greatest by any means. It doesn’t leave you wanting more. Especially not with a fried rice ball with a cost of $ 6. Wtf.

This newly opened pizza joint adds some competition to Bella Via down the street and provides for some simple and delicious slices and pies. I didn’t see any on my visits here but can’t wait for them to have charcuterie available. The vibe is casual and the décor fits right in with LIC, with a back garden area as well this spot will certainly be a hit spot to hang out. The slices I had Parma and Nizza had just the right amount of ingredients and balance for flavor. This is well worth the visit if strolling by.
