AWFUL. If you call them, expect them to be very late. And if you complain, expect them to yell and threaten you. One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had with a cleaning company. Ever.

Have been using Maid for you new york to clean our West Village property for some time now. After some problems with lateness back in August and September, they have stepped up their game. They are always very quick and easy to communicate with through email and by phone. The cleanings they do are thorough and well done. More than anything, we trust them to come in and get the job done, respect the property and our belongings, and make sure the place looks beautiful. We usually provide our own cleaning supplies, but they always show up with their own as well. They have even cleaned our catbox and changed linens on the bed. Great service.

I had used Maid For You New York Inc for the first time at a billing rate of $ 195.00 for 5 hours worth of cleaning. I was told by the owner @ 732−784−7944 that I would be charged $ 195.00 for only the first cleaning and $ 135.00 thereafter. Girl showed up to clean and did a wonderful job.
I was happy to hire them back, but we head south from there. I called a day before to reschedule for the next day and I was told by the owner @ 732−784−7944 that there was a $ 75.00 cancellation fee, plus the fee to clean @ $ 195.00. No, this is not what we agreed on. I told the owner that I would go somewhere else, that he wasn’t honest with his word [ my own fault for not getting it in writing ] and I would look elsewhere. The man became belligerent and started raising his tone and voice. I actually thought for a moment I was dreaming. I asked him to not call me again. The man called back immediately, and at this point I advised him that if he called me again, I was calling the Neptune Township Police. Some New Yorkers learn the hard way and the man called again, 2 more times on my cell phone and once on my landline phone.
A copy of my criminal complaint is on file with the Neptune Township Police in Neptune, NJ for anyone interested. Additonal criminal complaints and fraud charges will be filed if my checking account was billed without my authorization.
How do companies like this stay in business?

I scheduled 10 days in advance, prepaid and received paperwork, but the maid was a no show. I called company multiple times but there was never anyone there to answer the calls. The service seemed insanely expensive but I was hoping that there would be no hassle and the cleaning would be exceptional. It appears from these other reviews that that is not the case. I’m hopeful that getting a refund will be somewhat easy but I’m not holding my breath…

It depends on who you get — but you can change people and find the one you like. Instruction in the beginning goes a long way. Mary is terrific and great with the dogs!

I required a one-​time cleaning and they were able to accomodate us on very short notice, on a Sunday (for which we paid an extra 50 bucks). The lady was very pleasant, and did a meticulous job on the bathroom (spent 2.5 hrs of her 5 hours in there). That’s where the attention to detail ended. Our place was by no means fllthy and I’m not OCD/​checking the surfaces with a white glove, but we were stunned at how little got done. She skipped the kitchen table and the only other piece of furniture in there (a cabinet thing) altogether, barely wiped up the counters or sink, and didn’t wipe down any appliances, canisters, etc. The living room was vacuumed but not damp-​mopped (hardwood), and nothing got dusted (bookshelf, tv stand, side table, even the coffee table). Did a good job dusting the bedrooms, but for almost $ 200 ($ 145, plus the Sunday fee), we didn’t expect to have to spend an hour cleaning after she left. She asked before she left if there was anything she missed, but there was so much and she’d already been here 5 hours, so we just had her wipe down the kitchen table and sent her on her way. Again, she was very nice, and great that they could fit us in on short notice (pre-​hospitalization so we needed the apartment to be mom-​visit-​friendly), but I would strongly caution against using them unless you’re in a major bind. What a ripoff.

Well I paid $ 255 for a «deep cleaning» of 4 rooms. I expected that would mean that baseboards and floors would be hand scrubbed, molding on walls to be dusted, etc… I ended up going around after she left cleaning all the above myself, plus a heck of a lot more (cabinets, outside/​top of the fridge, trash can, etc). I just expected more for that amount of money. When I put my nose up close to the floor it stank of musty water. I am left wondering what type of cleaner she used on the floor if any. This was not worth $ 50+ dollars an hour. For that price I will just do it myself next time.

After looking for a cleaning service for our home we decided on Maid for You .It had a good rating on city search and even though it was expensive we went for it. The cleaning lady came with her own supplies and in a uniform (we paid extra for the own supplies).Well she was in our home for 5 hours and as she was walking out she asked me «oh do you want me to vacuum»? I had to remind her to clean the upstairs bathroom .yet when she was done in there it was still dirty I don’t believe she washed the bathtub. There was a dried contact lens still on the floor .The stairs going to the 2^nd floor was not swept and the lil dust bunnies were still there, She did not clean the range hood which still had grease on it was not washed, the china closet was not dusted. All basic things that needed to be done. If we had the time to do it we wouldn’t need the service .When the service was called and we complained we were told that they would send a supervisor to fix it. Why should a supervisor have to come and clean the things she missed after she was there for 5 hours??? We declined we told them to forget it and we have learned our lesson and will never use them .It was a huge waste of time and money. DON’T USE THEM

Last Friday, the cleaning lady I thought I’d hired showed up wearing a pretty skirt, thinking she was there for an ‘interview’. That meant the apartment I had been neglecting for a week while anticipating her visit was quite dirty, and I was just getting back from the hospital, so I couldn’t clean.
In a fit of desperation, I decided to try my hand at a cleaning service. I knew it would be expensive, but I couldn’t believe that Maid for You NY was willing to come by with 2 hour’s notice.
A cute, short, older, eastern european lady, complete with moustache — showed up carrying a suitcase full of cleaning products twice her size. She changed into her ‘maid’s’ outfit, and started cleaning.
In 4 hours, she managed to remove most of the grime (and even cleaned my dusty ceiling fan!). But that 4 hours cost me 167 $. OUCH. And she tried calling her boss to tell them that she’d need an extra hour to finish, at an additional 35 $. No way!
I asked for my floors to be hand scrubbed, which I normally do myself, and isn’t that much to ask at that price, but she did a half-​assed job, and then used her dirty mop that she uses to clean other people’s floors.
In all, she cleaned well, and she was thorough (she cleaned behind the fridge!) And great that she could be there within 2 hours, of course. But at that price, hiring a ‘service’ just isn’t worth it.
