This is the library you would not want to come to honestly. First off this is the combined library of queensbridge and ravens wood combined next the staff are still rude and unfriendly and don’t want to work of course well it is a library so figures they wouldn’t want to work. Next off this library is so loud and ghetto that kids will definitely not be doing home work in here they’re either smoking doing drugs or hanging out doing ghetto like stuff. I was robbed twice coming home from here it’s a very unsafe place to be around. Overall I wouldn’t go here and if your brave enough it’s like going to the Jamaica branch.

Bright, clean, and has a good kids’ section– with a kids’ room and great programming.
They don’t have tons of novels and barely any literature, but requesting books from other libraries is really easy and fast.

I came here once on a Saturday to apply for a library card. I don’t live here but work here (i.e. pay taxes). The lady was so unpleasant and pretty much threw a pamphlet at me. The pamphlet had ID requirements that are inconsistent with what’s written on the website. Ok, then I left. Then I noticed that the pamphlet said that an existing NYPL library card could be used to establish that I’m eligible for a card. I went back and the lady refused to listen and raised her voice.
Yep, take my tax dollars, but don’t let me get a library card.
FWIW, the experience at Flushing was WAY better.

I came here for a quiet place to study. I may as well have sat in a school playground. The staff doesn’t care that the kids who hang out there all day are loud and inconsiderate of people who want quiet. There is ONE small section with a sign that says «No talking is permitted in this area.» Too bad I can HEAR things outside this 12 square feet.

I like that this literary oasis exists amid the gas stations and chop shops of 21st Street. Its presence there is random and yet, as the closest library to my apartment traveling on foot, much appreciated. All the staff members I have met here have been friendly, and this is a good a location as any to browse for books, pick-​up requests made online, or return books after hours at the outdoor book drop. My experience here is that it is less hectic and a nicer place to sit and read than the Broadway or Sunnyside libraries, and it seems to be open a lot more often than the Court Square location.

Astoria, Queens, NY
I’ve been going to this library since they have opened, I’m there so much I’m on first name basis with the staff. This library has something for everyone, they offer educational classes, computers, laptops, resume building and job search. They have a special section of the library for children including computers for the children to use.
Books galore (duh it’s a library), friendly staff, great customer service, and free classes.

This is my go-​to library since I work and used to live a few blocks away. The Queens library system has been revamped entirely in the past 20 or so years. Remember the days when it used to be 2 cents per day for overdue books? It’s now 25 cents, a 1150% increase! :) Besides that, I can request books at the queens library website and they deliver the books to your requested library. There’s also a self checkout (not sure if this exists everywhere yet). Other notables: free classes on the 2nd floor, free wifi, computers/​printers, and good selection of books. One downside, I tried studying here once and there is no such thing as quite hours.
