Unfortunately this place is under new ownership and the quality has gone downhill. the chicken is dry, tasteless and the kabobs are not made the same anymore. overkill on the oregano. pricing and size is always inconsistent. my coworker and i have crossed this place off our lunch lists

I pass by this place pretty often and they are always grilling split whole chicken by the large storefront window. After living right around the corner from this place for 3 years, I decided to give them a shot. Ordered the half chicken with 2 sides to take home. When I opened the container, the chicken was dried and unappealing. I’m assuming it from sitting on the grill all day. My friend just picked at the chicken and ate the sides which was just average. Mac and cheese and rice and beans. I should have continued not trying them out.

I have no idea how this has become a 4.5 star establishment on Unilocal. My experience here has been very hit-or-miss. Sometimes I will go and get great chicken with tasty sides, as well as friendly customer service, and other times they will be totally out of sides with bland chicken and bad customer service. The most troubling part is that the last time I came, there were lots of tiny pieces of bone that I bit into hard and hurt my mouth. I was lucky to not have swallowed some of those tiny bone pieces. On the upside, the price is right here, and I’ve had more good experiences than bad. My true rating for Stop-N-Go would be 2.5 stars, but I’ll err on the side of 3 stars.

This place is pretty good for a nice cheap lunch or dinner. Grilled chicken is very good and lemon potatoes and chicken rice are good sides options. Quarter chicken with sides for 6.50 is plenty for 1 person at lunch.

Small place with very limited seating. Take out is recommended. Food is decent and reasonably priced. I ordered a quarter chicken with sauteed string beans and mac and cheese for $ 6.75. The portions are huge. The meal even came with pita bread. I recommend this place if you want to grab food that is quick, cheap and filling.

This is a little dive with a massive BBQ grill. It is very solid for take out. The menu is not extensive, just chicken, ribs, kebabs, and great salmon, but everything is simple and grilled. A good neighborhood staple if you are hungry.

I was never a fan of rotisserie chicken or any chicken that is served on the bone for that matter. I fell in LOVE with this place… the BBQ sauce is so addictive. I literally ask for five little containers of sauce for just my order! I usually do a quarter chicken with mac and cheese(which is awesome) and the salad with feta. I can honestly say I won’t be having any rotisserie chicken from anywhere else in Astoria/Long Island City. Cheap, yummy and quick!

The chicken is great and I will get it again… But I when with a friend yesterday and I wanted to get a burger deluxe as they advertise outside. And what did I get ??? A toasted bagel with rise meat :-) I when back asking them what happen and they sell no fries and no burger buns. Great chicken but that’s it.

The beef kebab was really good. It had that nice charred flavor, meat was tender, tomatoes and onions were cooked nicely. Half chicken, 2 sides, pita and a drink is $ 8.50. Chicken was good, not dry at all, but the lemon potatoes at Plaka are better. The chicken rice was just okay. The BBQ sauce was nice, poured it over the rice and chicken. Staff is friendly, I’d recommend the kebabs.

The name describes the place SO accurately! My stops usually don’t last longer than 5 minutes. I get the half chicken, with two sides(usually some rice, and lemon potatoes). The chicken comes right off the grill. My favorite! And it’s delicious. The sides are, however, not as high quality as the chicken. That’s why I get the half chicken, so I eat more meat than anything else. Also, I can’t possibly finish this review without mentioning how inexpensive this place is. It doesn’t get any better. A quick stop for tasty, healthy, grilled chicken :)

The food is delicious! Sides could be better but im not complaining. Chicken is always fresh. It’s more than what you can eat but worth the bang for your buck! The owner is very down to earth

Food is fresh and delicious. A very nice find. Had the chicken kebobs greek salad and potatoes. I just found a new regular spot! Update: Been there again and had their lentil soup and more chicken kebobs and salad. My food is pretty healthy and the flavor is amazing. I should give it 4 stars for no place to sit down, but the food is so good, especially for the price. And yes, they take credit cards. They have been doing that for more than a month.

I’ve never been a fan of eating chicken off of a bone(just a personal thing), but when I heard that Stop n go was serving chicken kabobs, I said sure I’ll try. Long story short, I am a frequent customer now! Their chicken kabobs are delicious! They also have beef kabobs, and soon to have shrimp and fish kabobs. And if you haven’t tried their mac and cheese, it’s one of the best in the area. So for $ 6 you get two chicken kabobs, flat bread and a small side that’s filling and delicious. SOLD! If you want any of the kabobs, I’d recommend to call ahead at least 10 or 15 minutes. Also, cash only.

Half Rotisserie Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Tomato Salad, Pita, and a Can of Soda for $ 8??? I’m SOLD!!! Cheap and Delicious. The Chicken Fried Rice was soooo good! The Chicken was alright for the price and the tomato salad was refreshing and tasty. Friendly staff and heard the food is actually greek but it seemed more Latin-inspired to me. Conveniently located just outside Queensboro Plaza Station. Can’t miss it!!! **CASH-ONLY** There’s a Chase Bank right next to it if you need to withdrawal cash from an ATM
