The lobster-scargot was fabulous! Would def recommend that! The Bar Harbor Combo was delicious. The only downside was when the waiter brought back our change, he brought back only $ 20 bills and assumed he would get a larger tip than we wanted to leave him!

Visiting Longboat Key for the second year. Dining at Lazy Lobster for the second time. We had a reservation and a party of 10. I will tell everyone that this is by far the Best Resturant in the area. My Wife and I own a Resturant. We know a well run establishment when we see one. Food was over the top. Service excellent. Nice to see the guy(I assume the owner) greet us coming and going. Bravo People! Good Job!!!

We have been coming to LBK for 11 years and honestly this was my first trip to the lazy lobster. Service was spot on for a party of 10! Sea food was excellent! Only negative comment I heard was filet did not have flavor(except char) but was cooked to medium and tender.

Good news – the Key Lime pie has gotten a bit bigger. It’s so good that I still don’t want to share. Also, I still would avoid the grilled shrimp. The bread starter has a nice spicy jelly that’s delicious. The crab cake and lobster tail are great. Next time I want to try the lobster tacos and why not since it is the«Lazy Lobster».

We go here pretty often as my folks live nearby and are regulars. Our last visit was particularly good with the whole evening being wonderful. Food, drinks, wine, service… really good. This place is good year round not just season and my wife REALLY enjoyed their new menu item, Caribbean lobster. You won’t go wrong going here and it won’t break the bank.

We visited on our way through town and weren’t familiar with this place. We relied on the 4 stars and 2 $‘s we noticed on Unilocal for a good bite! The staff: Friendly, inviting and courteous. The environment: Comfortable! We sat outside and loved it. The canopy of trees is enchanting. The food: Fell flat. I ordered a Mahi dish which came with rice. My Husband ordered Gumbo. We both received the same Uncle Bens style rice, which was cold. The rice was certainly prepackaged and made me doubt the origins of the other foods we ate. My green beans were over cooked. An upside is that the Mahi was cooked perfectly and not seasoned to intensely. Bottom line: For the price we paid for our dishes we were expecting a higher quality of food.

Solid choice on LBK. Nothing is outstanding but it delivers a decent meal and service. Nice outdoor seating. It felt like a chain restaurant a bit. Had the grouper and it was acceptable.

This place gets deducted one star because we came here three nights in a row to try dining here and were sent away two nights in a row because they were«too busy» or «sold out». I think that is crazy that a place like this would turn people away because they are busy… they have a pretty big patio too so I am not sure how they were unable to accommodate more people. Plus it’s on LBK which is old people central so I am not sure why there were so many people out at 7:30pm when we were trying to eat. Regardless, when we finally got to eat here(after making reservations at 8pm*) on the third night, the food was good and the service was good. I LOVED my hot chicken salad(seriously some of the best chicken I have had0 and my friend got the lobster which she loved. The place was packed but the service was very patient and friendly. We didn’t feel rushed out of there. They give you bread beforehand which was OK, nothing special. Parking is very easy because it is in a strip mall type of place.

The bisque was very good. I wasn’t a fan of the lobster Mac and cheese; I thought it overpriced given the minimal amount of lobster in the dish, so basically a $ 17 Mac and cheese dinner. The outside seating is delightful and very relaxing. The service was very European– unobtrusive, not rushed. Which is a good thing. I’ll definitely go back and try some other dishes.

Another Unilocal success, verified by a local and good friend… the food was excellent, fresh shrimp, well presented and service with a smile… My wife can attest to the quality of the cocktails(she had two), therefore they must have been good, the wait staff were attentive but not over bearing, the ambiance was prefect for indoor eating(their patio looks amazing), but was too cold to use on the day we ate there… we will be back to LBK, the Lazy Lobster will be on our return too list…

Must get lobster escot, and brownie dessert. The lobster bisk is good. Husband got the lazy lobster but then he missed cracking it himself. Lobster melted in your mouth. Every piece. BEST dessert — crème chocolate brownie. Service was quick but just okay, in a strip mall no view. Will go back for the lobster escot and dessert. Reservations needed.

I’ve visited the Lazy Lobster on almost every trip I’ve made to Long Boat Key in the past three years. While you can nearly always reserve a table inside, outside isn’t reserve-able. If the weather is nice, it can be tricky to get an outside table — unless you eat at normal people hours and not senior hours… :) While I’m still puzzled to why the Lazy Lobster is $ 1 cheaper than the whole Maine lobster of the same weight — which I’d have to do the work on?! Service is always pretty good and prices are reasonable for tasty, fresh food. I always return, so it must be good!

I will give this four stars as I was the only one in our group of 6 who didn’t enjoy their meal. We went here after a nice sunset cruise. The staff is super friendly and nice and very accommodating. The décor is nice I started out with the lobster mac and cheese appetizer which was pretty good but I only had 1 bite of lobster but it was overall a good dish, I just wouldn’t pay $ 13 for lobster mac n cheese with only such a small amount of lobster. I ordered the bar harbor special which included scallops shrimp and lobster in a citrus sauce with scalloped potatoes and green beans. It left a lot to be desired as it didn’t have much flavor but was covered in sauce. The scalloped potatoes were delicious and very cheesey so after the Mac and cheese I couldn’t finish them. The green beans were good. Other items that were ordered and what the verdict on them was– grouper(was very very tasty), veal parm(2 huge pieces & spaghetti, good for leftovers — this was tasty as well), Ahi tuna(delicious), lobster mac & cheese dinner(was very good) and fried seafood special(this was also good) I would recommend this place as everyone was very friendly and the food was overall very good!

This place is my favorite dining place on Longboat Key. This place is great for singles and for families with kids. Your phone will get you to the restaurant but don’t plan on using it while you are here because you will have no service. My first recommendation would be to make a reservation as some nights are crazy busy at this cute little place. They have inside and outside seating. I suggest in the warmer months, I would only sit outside later on as the heats dies down. The Favorite server is Gabriel! He is very kind, attentive, knowledgable and funny. These are the things I enjoy here: –Seafood Gumbo(only on special on occasion) –Lobster Bisque –Grilled Grouper –Coconut Shrimp Appetizer –Shrimp Cocktail –Lobster«Scargot» –Flounder Francaise –Chicken Marsalas –Broiled Twin Lobster Tails –Stuffed Shrimp Norma –Key West Shrimp –Potato Crusted Grouper(it’s like a hash brown crust) The seafood is fresh, and flavorful and the service here is very good. They also have a nice wine selection. Funny enough I’ve never made it to dessert because I’ve always left so full. I think I will try to make a point to make it to dessert next time. I hope you stumble upon the Lazy Lobster as it is a good little seafood joint, my favorite on the island. And remember if you get Gabriel as your server you are one lucky duck! Cheers & Enjoy!

Came for dinner on one of our last nights in town. Made a reservation at 8:30 since there were 7 of us. Seated right away, very friendly service. Drinks were kept topped off the entire time. My husband and I shared a cup of their lobster bisque which was very yummy. I got their crab cake dinner which wasn’t actually on the menu but they gave it to me any ways, very good, generous portions. My husband got the stuffed shrimp and mahi and he wasn’t a fan. Overall it was good but not exactly our favorite seafood in the area. I didn’t realize they closed at 9 and we were there quite late. I felt quite bad about that once I realized once we were home looking at their Unilocal page. They didn’t make us feel rushed or like they were trying to push us out. Sorry to our waitress for unknowingly staying so late!

Can’t stop raving about this place as we leave. Our food consisted of the following: I had the twin broiled lobster w au gratin potatoes, and glazed dill carrots. Delish. My dad had the same thing. My hubby ordered the veal marsala and it was a good sized entrée w wild rice and au gratin potatoes. My mom ordered the gumbo soup and a mixed fried seafood platter. She doesn’t love going out to eat, & she can’t stop saying how delicious her food was. TJ, our waiter was cool as can be, & super helpful. He suggested my mom try the gumbo soup to see if she liked it, before she even asked. He knew about the plates very well, & described the food with no problem. He let me know I wouldn’t like the lobster thermidor if I wanted the lobster taste and not the sauce taste. He was on point with everything. Atmosphere perfect outdoor garden like area and pet friendly. This is located on longboat key. Right outside Anna Maria Island and Sarasota. The population is more an older crowd bc of the surrounding areas. They have happy hour and early dining from 4 – 530. We missed it by like 15 min. The money was spent well here, and the quality was extraordinary.

Recomendable 100%.
