Decent good but the service was a bit abrupt, bordering on rude. Food was good(#31) though the potato chips felt out of place.

The second time I have been here and it was disgusting. AGAIN. I paid almost $ 10 for a reuben panini… which was the ‘special’, the meat was not even edible. It was like tire leather… GROSS. They also featured fresh squeezed lemonade, which tasted like it came out of a fountain and had equal in it. Super disappointing because I was so hungry. Never going there again. Yuck. Although the service was good. so I can’t complain about that.

Sandwiches are fine. Nothing special though. Its your typical assembly line sandwich shop. The biggest problem is that they take way too long to put orders together. I’ve waited ½ hour on multiple occasions to get a small order. Each time I swear I won’t return and yet I never learn…

Wasn’t impressed. Wanted a go-to sandwich spot, and I just wasn’t excited about my lunch. I’d rather make the drive to Panera for a sandwich and soup.

I hope that our recent visit to Semolina was a fluke, because if the service is always as terrible as it was a couple weekends ago, I’d be hard pressed to return. We were there Saturday at 11, when the restaurant is supposed to open. It wasn’t until around 11:10 when the kids working there got around to unlocking the door and opening the place for business. While that’s not a huge deal, we learned AFTER placing our sandwich orders that it would be another fifteen minutes before they were ready because they hadn’t baked the bread yet. Had we been made aware of this prior to ordering, we would have gone elsewhere because we were a bit pressed for time. About five minutes later, one of the kids asked if we wanted to switch our orders to white bread instead of wheat, because the white was already baked. Why wouldn’t they have provided this information when we put in our orders, or at least made us aware that we could just order a different sandwich bread and not have to wait fifteen minutes? Our sandwiches were actually quite good, which saved this from being a two star review. I had the pear, walnut, gorgonzola sandwich, which was nice and light on a hot day. The bread is excellent as well– chewy with the right amount of saltiness(aided by a sprinkling of coarse salt on top). There are a ton of different sandwiches to choose from, and the ingredients all seem very fresh. I’ll give Semolina the benefit of the doubt and assume the ridiculous service we received isn’t the norm– I hope that’s true!

There is a great selection of delicious sounding sandwiches here, and I have always enjoyed what I got. Despite that, I almost never go to Semolina because the service is so unbelievably slow. The girls look like they are apathetically assembling sandwiches under heavy anesthesia. If these girls worked at Subway they would be fired after a week. I find it so frustrating that I almost always opt to go across the street to La Cucina for some quick service and equally good food.

Mmm, Semolina sandwiches. Sometimes I still crave these and it makes me sad I’m so many states away from it. I think it’s the bread. They use really quality bread here that’s not too cooked or chewy — it’s that perfect in-between blend of delicious. Of course, no sandwich is complete without fillings and their meats are delicious. Fresh and tasty. Stay away from the chicken salad, it was disappointing. But your normal turkey sandwich — fantastic. All the sandwiches come with a tiny bag of potato chips, which is cute, but seriously, is it that much more to put in a real bag of chips? Especially at those prices. Come on Semolina. You can do better. The inside of this café is very nice — calm with many places to sit. I enjoy eating here as much as I do taking to go. If you’re in Longmeadow and looking for a sandwich, this is your first and last spot.

The food is fresh and delicious all the time. I had a problem with the service and I mentioned it on Unilocal shortly after the owner contacted me for feedback on what he could change to make my experience better. This was fantastic to hear we talked and very soon the changes were done and things are much better now. It’s always a real plus for me to eat at a place that really cares about their customer services. With the summer months coming it’s even better to eat here with their great patio.

Semolina is undoubtedly the best place to get a sandwich in Longmeadow, MA. This high-end, vaguely Italian deli offers delicious bread baked daily on the premises, an element which goes a long way in distinguishing it from other lunch joints in town. The ingredients are always fresh, and they boast a solid array of vegetarian sandwiches and salads for the non-carnivore crowd(a feat rarely achieved in small-town America). The decoration here is sparse and the atmosphere is less than cozy, but the free wifi connection included in the price of lunch makes this an ideal place to work on your laptop, especially if you benefit from a quiet environment offering the only Italian soda in town.
