This little shop has incredible customer service above and beyond the call of duty. The owner, Mark, takes lots of pride in explaining the brewing process and helping you find what you need to make the brew how you want it. When I discovered that I had forgotten my yeast at the checkout, I called the shop, and Mark drove to me house in Longmont after he closed to hand deliver the yeast. How many store owners would do this??? I venture to guess, not many. Simply amazing.

This place is superb. It is a well stocked little store with fantastic prices, but best of all the owner is super knowledgable and friendly, and is always willing to give advice. He doesn’t push you into buying the most expensive stuff, and is generally just a great guy. I am a beginning brewer, and he has helped me get confident and started with everything. I am lucky he is my local shop!

I visit Bald Brewer frequently. Every time that I enter the store the owner Mark is friendly, and knows me by name, He has helped me make innumerable brews, and always has good advice. It may be cheaper to shop online, but it is worth it to have someone that is so helpful. Will always be a loyal customer.

A locally owned and locally ran homebrew supplies store. The owner actually greets you and talks to you compared to some other stores in the area. His selection of grain and hops can make practically any beer you can think of. He also has a very good selection of wine kits, bottles and corks and even rents corkers. The customer service is what makes this shop stand out from the others plus they also have a website where you can order supplies and have them shipped or ready to pickup, heck I even heard the owner will deliver your order if you live in Longmont.

Ehhhhh. This store is good, but not great. He has hops, malt and equipment(probably what you’ll need) but you may outgrow it. The owner is nice and polite, but not everything is up to snuff. He controls the malt mill which is nice. It produces a good crush without fiddling. His hops however, are stored in ziploc bags. They should be at least vacuum packed, not to mention in nitrogen filled packs. It leaves the, actually extensive, selection a bit dull on aroma and flavor. This kind of stinks. His malt selection, unlike the hops, is not extensive. The prices are also a bit high. I am comparing this all to Hop To It in Boulder. Hop To It has its own issues(see my other review) but I definitely prefer it. If it were not for the occasional lack of hops, a 30 min ride to go to Hop To It over the Bald Brewer would be absolutely worth it. Give each a shot. See what you think.
