Barbara is a natural. Natural beauty, natural singer, natural artisan when it comes to hair. I had my hair cut by her for over 25 years. From almost to my waist length hair to a looking-​to-​get-​a-​job cut, she performed magic on my hair for whatever personality I had assumed. The most remarkable thing about her cuts is that they don’t look as if you’ve just had your ears lowered or they don’t require (unless you want it) a massive amount of work to look as good as when you leave her salon. Her salons in Boulder were constantly busy and she took a lot of her clietele with her to Longmont. I used to make the long trip there for a lot of years but now in my decrepitude I don’t feel the need to be the guy that people walked up to and said, «I really like your hair, I want to grow my hair long and have it styled just like that.».
