For those of us from out-of-state, Colorado has TWO separate DMV offices. In Longmont the Coffman St. location is where you register your car and pay for your plates — and the Main St. office is for your driver’s license. I was warned that the wait could be very long at the Longmont office(No appointments are available) so I showed up at 7:30am and was the first person served when the office opened at 8am. The staff was professional and helpful and the process went quickly. Here is the deal — you go to an electronic box, punch in the reason you are visiting, receive a ‘number’ and wait for the loud speaker to tell you which desk to go to. Tips: 1) Check the Website beforehand so you can have all of the necessary paperwork before you go to the office. 2) Take cash or check — they charge an extra ~3% if you use debit or credit.
