Disappointing. I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and this was probably my most disappointing. The Garlic naan was $ 2.95 and was a single piece of bread. One! Really? The same for the Aloo Paratha: a single piece of bread, but it was $ 3.95. The Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty bland. The Chicken Korma was tasty, and the Mango Lassi was nice and thick, but I was so cheesed off after getting hosed on the bread that I couldn’t enjoy it. And my water glass was empty but never refilled the entire meal.

I really hate to give a bad review to a local business, but this place is fairly disappointing to someone who loves Indian food. If you’re looking for a decent buffet, this place might be a good option for you. The food is fairly bland, but not bad. The buffet seems really popular. If you are like me, though, and are looking for quality, spicy Indian food, you may want to steer clear. If you have high Indian standards and don’t want to leave Longmont, you can go ahead and start crying now. Their service is pretty lean, but that’s because almost everyone goes for the buffet, lunch or dinner.

Orderd the veg Somosa, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The food was not spicy and flavorful like I am used to in Denver … We told them medium plus on the spice but it was very bland. We just got done with a very long hike on Mt Evans so we didn’t feel like waiting for another shot so we ate it. Won’t be back. Wouldn’t suggest this place for people who enjoy real indian spices … But if you enjoy a mild tomatoey simmer sauce this may be the place for you. If you do have to eat here maybe try indian hot because medium plus was like tomato baby food spice level.

My wife and I come here for the lunch buffet every other week or so. The food is really tasty, and they have a variety of choices on the buffet so you can really sample what you want. The have some spicy dishes, some medium, and a mild dish. The meat is not fatty at all and is white meat. I hate fatty gummy chicken though! The customer service really isn’t that wonderful. The prepare the naan fresh for you, but I often find that the naan comes out once I am completely done with my first place and struggling to get my second. Once you are out of water, you basically have to wave at them and ask them for more or else you will not get anymore.

far from actual Indian food, while the dals were decent the biryani was disgrace… pretty rude arrogant staff and bit expensive for the quality of food served. I’d steer clear of this if I wanted decent Indian food.

I’ve been here twice now, once with my kids for the buffet and once with my wife for a sit down dinner. Both times the food was enjoyable, however I can say the sit down experience was much better than the buffet. The spice levels on everything was good(could have been hotter for both my wife and I, but it was acceptable). They have a pretty good beer selection too for an Indian restaurant so that is really nice. The naan here was probably one of my least favorite naans I’ve had at any Indian location, which is a shame… I’m a big naan guy… mmmm carbs. :) Both times I’ve been here service has been average(buffet) to above average(sit down). When asked about some of the dishes, our waiter was very helpful.

Really good Korma and chicken tikka masala. The saag paneer is great also. And who doesn’t love garlic naan? Also, buffet for dinner for $ 12.95

Ah! What to say — would be a far better place if the owner(manager?) wasn’t there. The waitress was quite enthusiastic and pleasant. It was only her 2nd day though. I ordered Shahi Panner and Channa Masala. She misspelled one of my orders so the owner/manager came back to reconfirm it. When I did — somehow he decided to slash off Shahi Paneer from my order and I only got Channa Masala. Not a problem, I asked for it again and it was out fairly quickly. The portions are much smaller than usual and my Shahi panner had too many Paneer cubes and very little sauce, probably because it was made in a hurry. No problems still. Flavors are really good. Beware of too much cilantro though. At the end of the meal I had too many Paneer cubes left so I asked the waitress if I could get a little more sauce to go. She said«sure» — she spoke too soon. About 10 minutes later, she came back and the owner/manager had asked her to charge us extra for the sauce which she didn’t realize. Even though you are not honoring the word, at least come and clarify it first.

Yum! I just had the lunch buffet at Flavor of India for lunch today. It was delicious. Lots of dishes to choose from, super fast, super yummy and about $ 12 out-the-door(I only had water to drink). My favorite dish today was the Vegetable Korma, which(from my limited knowledge of Indian cooking) is veggie chunks in this creamy(coconut milk?) yellow sauce. SO flavorful and big chunks of potato. Their pakora was really good and I loved their ‘veggie fried rice’(they dont call it that, I call it that lol), which is in addition to the normal basmati rice. My only gripe is that there was no paneer(i.e. Indian cheese) in the saag(i.e. creamy spinach), but the saag was still super awesome, as it was. Today was my second time there and both times I’ve enjoyed the buffet. I’ll def be going again, seeing as how Flavor of India is within walking distance of my work.

Food was good, nice and spicy. The only reason I rated this place a 3 was due to the customer service, or lack there of. The waitress only came to the table once and then got angry as we told her we were paying separately. That could have been better, but the food was still good.

I ordered lamb Vindaloo with rice Pilau and Naan. And a Kingfisher Beer. I ordered it hot but not Indian hot. The waiter was a very nice friendly chap. He saw me look at the rice when it was delivered it was a little brown and a little greasy looking. But I stuck with it. The restaurant was voted best in the West several years running, but I think it must mean West of Denver and East of Estes Park because the dinner while filling just wasn’t as tasty as I expect Indian to be. I’ll probably try it again next time, but I’ll try the chicken tiki masala. C“eat la vie

I feel betrayed by Unilocal.I trust it when we are looking for a new restaurant, hair salon or car wash, and I’m usually pleased by what I find. So when I saw that there was a highly rated Indian buffet in Longmont, one that isn’t at a gas station, I was thrilled and planned a family lunch there. We live half an hour away, but since we are in Longmont often, we thought it would be worth the drive. So we went on a Friday for their lunch buffet and as we walked in I should have listened to my first impression. The place is dark and carpeted. Carpet at a restaurant is a pet peeve of mine, but that’s beyond the point. The place was empty, there were only two other customers yet we were not acknowledged until we walked to our own table. At that point an employee asked if we would drink anything other than water, took our drink order and walked away. So we just walked over to the buffet line to face the measly offerings. I LOVE Indian food, but this place served dried nuggets of chicken in a watery curry. There were four chicken entrees and a couple more vegetarian ones, including saag without paneer. There were no samosas or gulab jamun, both of which I have seen at every Indian buffet I have been to. I found most of the sauces to be lacking salt, and though I understand that people have different preferences when it comes to salt, it really is necessary to season one’s food. As another commenter said, the trays of food need to be regularly replenished so that they are minimally appetizing. We found shriveled pieces of chicken that no one in their right mind would want. Despite all of this, you may wonder why I still have it two stars? Well, the kids at least liked the mango lassi’s, even though they asked we take them to get phở after we left. Then there was a potato dish with green beans that was tasty and well seasoned. We also had a basked of hot naan at our table shortly after being seated. This place has potential, and it’s possible we came on the wrong day or at the wrong time, but I don’t think I’ll be back. My search for a great Indian restaurant continues.

My husband is frequently in India, so, he tends to be particular about how the Indian food he eats tastes. I on the other hand, love Indian food… but not the heat which normally comes with it. The waiter we’ve had twice was remarkable. I’m a creature of habit and he managed to convince me to try a different appetizer and entrée. Boy were my tastebuds humming. My husband remarked that this is some of the better Indian food he’s had, ever. The service we receive was extraordinary with one caveat — - when they got busy or new customers arrived, our waiter was hard to get a hold of. Their wine and beer list is great– something for everyone. We will be going back… oh wait… We have… multiple times.

4.5 stars! Friends recommended Flavor of India so a group of us went there for dinner during the weekend. I was impressed with our world-class waitperson, the pleasant atmosphere, and most of all – the food. Sauces were all beyond perfect. We started with fruit & nut — filled naan and papadam(sp?). Portions of both were generous and all were fresh and delicious. People at the table ordered various meat dishes and appeared to enjoy them. I ordered the Saag Paneer and it was quite good. The Paneer cubes were exactly the way I like them. I must learn to make Paneer at home… Though we went to dinner at a normal dinner hour on a weekend night the place was fairly empty except for a few people sitting over at the bar, and our table. We loved our waitperson. I think I already mentioned that. One of my friends was abstaining from dinner there, as she was going to go home and eat dinner with her husband. Our waitperson brought her some complimentary kheer, which she loved. Just a really nice place. When I am in Longmont again and hungry for Indian cuisine, I will most definitely be back.

Perhaps I picked a bad day to visit. Lately, several bad days in a row, it seems. Normally I love the lunch buffet — it’s a great value and I’ve enjoyed many excellent dishes at this restaurant over the years, carefully prepared with authentic flavors and techniques. But recently some simple problems have affected my enjoyment. With wait staff sitting idle and family members /children wandering about, I was surprised that our used plates were not cleared after courses. We had to take them to an empty table each time. It’s great that fresh naan bread comes with the meal, but I wish ours had arrived promptly, not after we’d almost finished eating. This never used to happen, but it has on each of our recent visits. And BTW — the naan used to be wonderful, not the thin cardboard served now. Why isn’t the tandoori chicken replenished promptly with fresh, appetizing pieces? No one wants to eat a few tiny dried up portions that look like they’ve sat around since the Taj Mahal was built. But it appears that they stay in the warmer as an excuse not to add a fresh platter — if no one is eating them, hey… no need for more! That’s a good way to lose customers. I don’t expect to request a pot of Darjeeling tea in an Indian restaurant and be served some kind of spicy Celestial Seasonings brew in a mug. Really? It seems quiet in this restaurant these days, over what always used to be quite a brisk lunchtime buffet. The food is still good(except the tandoori is missing most of the time), but I have stopped bringing parties of people because of the problems mentioned above. Maybe I’m not alone.

Caught the lunch buffet, so my experience is limited. A lot of standards like the chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken, but their vindaloo chicken is a notch above normal and the crazy range of veggie entrees is a definite plus in Colorado. I will be back to check out their dinner menu some time.

Unexpected classy place in Longmont. Food selection is OK. Pretty normal stuff like Vegetable Korma, Saag Paneer for vegetarians and some chicken dishes for carnivals. Although I didn’t have too many things to be excited about, I was addicted to the mushroom curry. I like the fact it was light(not too creamy) a little on the salty side and it has got the killer spice you only taste after a while, yet cannot stop taking more in until it hurts! Even that, I still enjoyed my visit.
