After I moved here, we had some AC problems and they told us we had to replace coils etc. etc. and the bill was about $ 395. Then a few months later they sent us an ad for a $ 39. Furnace Tune-up. The guy came out and did his thing and I pretty much watched him the whole time. When it was over he told us we really need to replace the furnace. We thought it was a con, so didn’t go for it. We were told the furnace was only a couple of years old when we bought this townhouse. When Summer started, the AC didn’t go on at all, I called KJ who I had been very happy with when he did some work at a rental we had purchased, and he came over. He spent 10 mins and said«who did you have work on this?» I mentioned we’d had the furnace tuned up. Karl said that they’d reversed some wires and that was why the AC didn’t work!!! Karl fixed it and didn’t charge me anything(as I was on his way home)! KJ’s been my go to guy for AC/Furnace things ever since and I’ve always been happy with him! He’s fair, sensitive to peoples needs, and doesn’t try to take people to the cleaners monetarily when he does a job for them! He will try to fix your issue if he can, rather than just go for the big bucks and try to sell you a new unit.

When our furnace broke down, I called a local company(the one with the ubiquitous christian fish symbol) and they told us we needed a $ 7500 furnace, total hard sell, told my impressionable wife it could«actually catch on fire» highly unlikely INSIDE a closed metal unit. A close friend recommend Carl, and when he came out, it was truly a breath of fresh air. Even though the furnace was 15 yrs old, we were not financially ready to replace it. Carl was sympathetic, kind, replaced our motor slightly under his original estimate, and very timely in the peak of summer. Oh, and reviewers can’t complain about parts costing more, that’s common in every business, and the price we pay for not being furnace experts.

The replacement job was fine but we were upset that he Charged us $ 385 for a zone value that we found on for $ 65. That is a 600% markup. He also adds a $ 8FMC fee to every invoice with no explanation or forewarning what that is for. I emailed him that I felt his markup for his parts was too high and there was no response. I would only use him again if you have your own parts.
