I love this place. Drinks are cheap, people are friendly. We Always have a great time here!

Mccarthy’s is one of the more popular dives in Longmont, and for good reason. Their beer selection is small but cold as all hell, the service is friendly and efficient, and the clientele are all down-​to-​earth locals looking for the same thing as you.
The only complaint I have is that I often don’t get out until after 11 – 12 at night, and once in a while I drive by and they’re — GASP — closed? Yeah, that was a shocker. I don’t know their official hours but I do know a few places that are open laterrrrr … Just sayin’ …

What a dump. Watered down beer, shady customers, and nowhere to sit and relax. Not a bar– its a dump. What self proclaimed irish pub doesn’t have irish beer on tap?!

Horrible place & I’m a fan of dive bars! Tried to play pool there and they were completely disrespectful & rude to my disabled friend to the point we had to leave. This establishment needs to do the world a favor & shut down.

It’s a good dive bar as long as you don’t go in with any expectations. What disappointing for a pub called McCarthy’s is their is no emphasis on Irish beer. Just your standard Coors and Bud.

I was there on a weekday looking for a dive, and McCarthy’s definitely filled the requirements. The crowd seemed a little shady, but they all kept to their own group of people. I was glad to find a place with pool tables, multiple dart boards, and a decent jukebox… Oh, and they also serve reasonably priced beer; not sure about the mixer prices tho. They have a nice «tiki» bar out back as well which could use some work. Overall tho, it’s just a run down bar to go and kick it.

The bartender chicks are terrible, minus one of them. This hole in the wall is now charging $ 2 for any purchase over $ 10 when someone uses debit/​credit Also did I mention the service is terrible? You’ll be disappointed — don’t go. They recently just fired and 86’d their only nice aspect (a nice couple with karaōke business) what Dbags! The bar is poorly lit — the bartenders aren’t really bartenders at all. they’re slow, lousy company and well… bullies.
Can’t wait for you to go out of business!

Perfect place to go if your on crack… and since I think crack is whack. I don’t find it the least bit perfect. It sucks okay?

Best dive bar in Longmont. Hands down. I agree with Darryn above.
Great place. You can walk up to 99% of the patrons and start a conversation. Bartenders are ⁸⁄₁₀ on the friendly scale, and a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ on the service scale, as long as you tip.

Contests, prizes, and even if they laugh at you you get a congrats and a pat on the back and high fives all around.

*Edit– The tenders are certainly fair-​weather (tipper) friends. I always tipped $ 1 per drink order, usually more, but one day I had nothing to tip and even apologized. The tender got nasty with me and I told her I didn’t appreciate her attitude. Basically, I’m never going back to this place, thats no way to treat a customer.
