Backstreet Bar and Grill

This place was a real disappointment. We didn’t know there was a cover charge until after we ordered our drinks. Then when we got the bill it was extra cover charge because we paid with a credit card. The bartender was rude and the place was very unsanitary. We should have stayed at Gerald’s.

What else is there to do on a hot Saturday afternoon in Longview but find a dive bar and hang out in the ac drinking adult beverages? I stumbled on the GOLD MINE accidentally and I am so glad I did. Next thing I knew it was 3 hours later, the sun was going down and I still needed to check into the hotel. There were only 4 – 7 people there on and off the whole time I was there but they were GOLD. One would leave 2 would walk in. It was never really crowded but I can see where it could get that way. I love talking to people who are open, honest and tipsy!
I hear the burgers are the best around and I’ll be headed back there to try one next time I’m in town. The grill is only open certain times of the day so be sure and check ahead so you don’t get disappointed.
This is a beer bar, BYOB, they’ll supply you with a glass, bucket of ice and a mixer. The bartender was a sweetheart. Very funny, very cute, did her job well. Another thing about Longview, everyone has the coolest Texas accents, she had a good one of those too. There’s live music on weekend nights I think. I’ll be stopping in again, cause WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON IN LONGVIEW?

Great Burgers! Very friendly staff. The «Backstreet» name might give you an indication of the embiance, Try it, you’ll like it. A group of my friends has lunch there every Saturday and we have a great time. They have very large tables so we sit and talk and beer and burgers are consumed. They do allow smoking and so according to Longview City ordinance, no one under 18 is allowed in. For low carbers, they serve a hamburger salad that is fabulous. We love this place.

The torch has been passed from Charline to her daughter, Rhonda, and everything is just as good as it always was.
Its as good as it gets with great people!
