This place is amazing. They sell everything you need to make beer wine mead or even spirits. The restaurant attached is awesome and well priced. They also sell every microbrew mead and wine you could think of. This place rocks!

Busy place. Able to find seat at bar. Wait staff pretty non-existent. Grabbed menu from another patron after no acknowledgement for nearly ten minutes. Waitress was direct, curt, not friendly or social. Checked in on once. Another waitress took one of our finished plates but didn’t say a word to us. Had to wave card to finalize bill and get to go box. Not absolutely sure good food balances out cruddy service. ***update*** Staff saw post and replied with nice apology. Thumbs up to business for taking time to respond.

Memo to the business management… When your waitress finalizes your bill because she’s going on break doesn’t bother me one bit. What I thought was strange is that she took her break on the leather couch laying down with her feet up. In the middle of the restaurant. Who does that?! So bizarre. Food is awesome BTW.

I get growlers and take-out here often. Always a nice selection of beer and the food is really good. Love the blackened fish sandwich and fritters. I feel the service can be hit or miss. More often than not they do a nice job but sometimes I feel like I’m an inconvenience. I still give 4 stars as I like this place. It always smells great and they have a great beer store.

Meat so tender it melts in your mouth and Jack mac-n-cheese was divine. New favorite place.

Wth just happened?! We were driving home from an excellent trip through the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Unilocaled brewpubs — one of our favorite things to do to try obscure places and discover amazing new spots. This place popped up in Longview right off I-5, but a bit off the highway. Best. Decision. Ever. First, don’t be afraid of the seemingly odd side entrance, even if it’s dark and has no lights. Just open the door and, if it’s not busy, seat yourself. Second, let’s cover the bottle shop. AMAZING selection that you can take back to your table for a small corkage fee. AMAZING in that they have beers that would compete with Belmont Station in Portland — super dark, barrel aged beauties that are hard to find even in Portland(Berserker from Alaska, seriously? Black Betty from Nebraska, yes please!) AND you can take that baby right back to your table to enjoy with your dinner. I.e. Go check out the beer and wine selection before deciding what to drink with your meal. Which will be hard to do because of their equally amazing rotating taps. So now let’s talk about your dinner. Rotating beer and wine selection, and not filled with your typical players. I’m writing from the beer side, so someone with more wine knowledge would need to check that side. As for beers… they had Notorious and Double Bastard on tap — with Growlers of each for only $ 16. Yes you read that right — 64 ounces of an 11+ big beer, that, as for the Notorious, you can’t get bottled, for $ 16. You did being your growler with you, right? And now you’re thinking, thanks for the beer review, but I’m hungry. GOOD! Because their food was equally amazing at a very nice on the wallet price point(obviously so you can buy more amazing beer). I had the prime rib dip($ 9,50, what!), which was by far my favorite French dip like sandwich ever with a thick au jus that melted in my mouth, and my companion had the Cuban(also $ 9.50) which was equally mouth watering. We paired both with the pepper jack mac and cheese and … let’s just say I have lunch tomorrow too. If the rest of their food is like that, I would almost make the hour drive from Portland to see what they have rotating and eat that food again with some of my favorite beers. One last bonus point — the people in the bottle shop are really knowledgeable. I thought I wanted the Berserker, but was waiting for them to chill it since it came right off the shelf(yes, they do that too!), but the guy came over and suggested another one that was already chilled based on the ones I was eying in the bottle shop. Got to try a brand new beer I’d never heard of that was spot on for my palette and cheaper than the Berserker. I bought another one for home. Then he suggested another 12oz that I’d never heard of and, since he’d won my trust, got that one as well. Sitting here trying that smaller one now and it does not disappoint. Super long review to say — make the stop, drive out of your way and save room for dinner.(Friday and Saturday are prime rib nights and I’m planning to return) Oh, and bring your growler!

This place is unpretentious and well priced, with friendly staff and good food. The fries appear to be hand cut, the sauces are house made and delicious, and the baked beans are clearly not from a can. My husband had the buffalo chicken wrap and was blown away. I think we’ll make this a regular stop on our way through Kelso from now on. Our second visit was even better than the first. The food is fast but well made and the flavors are bold and distinctive. My husband had the buffalo chicken wrap again and raved about it(again). I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was tender and almost perfect. It came on a French hoagie roll, which I’m not that fond of(an onion roll would be better, I think) but this is just personal preference and it didn’t detract from how delicious the sandwich was. I would highly recommend everything we ordered, especially the mac and cheese. If you leave here without getting the mac and cheese, turn around and go right back in because you’re not done. It’s creamy and peppery and made with those big fat spirals I can’t remember the name of and it leaves you feeling full and happy, just like the rest of the food here.

Came here with a friend while I was in town. They were packed! Usually a good sign tho so no complaints from me :) We seated ourselves and shortly after, our waitress came and greeted us and brought waters. I ended up getting the combo plate — it comes with smoked brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken with 2 sides and a roll for 16 $. I got Mac n cheese and red potato salad with bacon. After about 15 minutes our food came out. Time to dig in! The brisket was excellent! As well as the Mac n cheese, OMG that mac n cheese! The potato salad and pulled pork were both good as well. The chicken was very dry and hard to chew but the flavor was good. The roll was dry and stiff Lol at least I had butter to slather on it tho. Overall I would go back but would ask for extra brisket instead of chicken lol. I would also order an extra Mac n cheese to go lol.

The beer is great! Food is decent(I asked for well done wings and they must not understand what I am saying, 2 different trips in a row) the service is SLOW as molasses. It is probably the best place to eat in town,(take that how you want). It would be a lot better if kids were able to join in, I mean there is a short wall dividing the liquor store and the eatery, so whats the big deal. It’s nice to not always have kids with you, but this is a restaurant, not a bar.

Yummy in my tummy! I thought the pulled pork, pepper jack mac n’ cheese and bbq beans were great! I wish they served homemade rolls or at least something more than one of those squished, hamburger bun looking rolls. The mix n’ match beer situation they’ve got going on in the shop os fun. But oh my gosh, the guys in that part of the store asked me if I needed any help no less than 7 times. I thought I would go nuts if I got asked one more time!

WOW! A group of nine of us went for dinner on a Thursday night. The place was quite busy but 2 of the waitstaff pulled the tables together to accommodate our group. Our waitress offered to bill each couple separately, which came as a surprise. The food was very good, and presented nicely. Try the mac & cheese. Really good!

Slow, SLOW service and actually disappointed with the beer choices(I’m not a big Ale fan) and runny Mac n’ Cheese. BBQ was decent though I ordered the combo with 3 meats, and I only wanted the Brisket and Chicken(which I got) and they charged me for 3 meats. Not sure why that happened? I thought at one time that they were the best BBQ in SW Washington, especially the sauces but I’ve changed my mind. I’ll go back but it all depends on what they have on tap.

We ate lunch at the Smokehouse Pub on a Friday afternoon. I would give the pub 3 stars and the store 5 stars, so I averaged the two in this review. The pub is fairly large and takes up the back portion of the store. We were a little confused when we walked in, as it wasn’t clear if we were supposed to seat ourselves or if we would be seated. We finally just sat at an empty table, and then was asked to move because the table was apparently taken. Once we were seated, a waitress stopped by to take our drink order. The drink menu is on television screens hanging throughout the restaurant, which was a little odd. One thing that is pretty annoying is that there is a capage fee of $ 1.50 for any of their beers you order, even if you just order off the menu, so you are basically paying a premium just to drink there. I went with the Tieton Cherry Cider and really enjoyed it. For our meal, my husband and I split the combo platter which comes with pulled pork, pulled chicken, sliced brisket, a roll, and two sides(we ordered the pepperjack mac and cheese and the hush puppies). The food came out relatively quickly and the portion was more than enough for two people. All three of the meats had great flavor, but the chicken was my favorite. I wasn’t a huge fan of the BBQ sauce(this is likely a personal preference, as I don’t like vinegar-based BBQ sauces) but I really enjoyed the mustard sauce they served alongside the BBQ sauce. The hush puppies were not very good. They didn’t have much flavor and were dry. The mac and cheese was fantastic, though! It was easily my favorite part of the meal, and everyone at our table agreed it was awesome. After eating we wandered into the store. They have an awesome selection of beers, possibly the best I have seen. The set up isn’t fancy(it was actually rather cluttered), but it was organized by type of beer so it was easy enough to find what you wanted. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to eat at the pub again(although it is a great option if you are in the area), but the store is definitely worth a drive if you are a beer fan.

Went in for lunch. The first thing I noticed was how dark it was… why isn’t there more lighting in here? I wanted to try the salmon chowder, since it seems to be an outstanding item here based on Unilocal reviews. The waitress explained that it would be fine to substitute a cup of the soup for the side that usually comes with the pulled-pork sandwich for $ 1 extra. This seemed like the right decision. The chowder came first. It was decently good. About the same quality as the seafood chowder at the OHSU cafeteria. OHSU has good food, so this is in no way a putdown. However, OHSU’s chowder is less expensive. The pulled-pork sandwich was okay. Nothing special. I enjoyed having two homemade BBQ sauces to put on it. The very small cup of slaw that came with it was fresh and delicious. I only wish there had been more of in. Service was fine. A bit slow. All-in-all, the food was pretty good, but this was a pricey lunch. I can’t see myself going back, not because it was bad, just because it wasn’t good enough to not explore other options first.

Hop-N-Grape is a liquor store with a restaurant/bar and it’s a restaurant/bar with a liquor store. I’m not quite sure which side does more business, but the 14 Beers on tap and 11 Wines available in the bar were enough to make getting dinner worthwhile. There are three sizes of beers available: 10oz, 16oz, and Growler. Prices vary depending on the brew on tap. I was in the mood for tasting a variety of the 14 on my journey through a Saturday night grammar lesson on drink-drank-drunk. * Mazama White Wedding — White IPA(5.2% ABV; 55IBU) The Justin Bieber of beer … White ‘n light with hops to stop * Mazama Belgian Blonde(7.7%ABV; 20IBU) The Jason Statham of beer … Smooth ‘n sweet like a treat * Elysian Bifrost — Winter Pale Ale(7.6% ABV; 58IBU) The Kit Harington of beer … Festive like snow when winter is coming * Boneyard Armored Fist — Cascadian Dark Ale(10% ABV; 80IBU) The Marshawn Lynch of beer … Black & strong going Beast Mode * Widmer Heritage Flanders Red Ale(3.7% ABV) The Gianni Versace of beer … Fruity with Italian Plums & Blackberries * Mazama Grand Cru — Strong Golden Pale Ale(10% ABV; 26IBU) The Javier Bardem of beer … OMG like drinking a beautiful flower * Heathen Reindeer Tears — Barley Wine(10.8% ABV; 94IBU) The Santa Claus of barley wine … Bringing joy to your Christmas I was a fan of the beers. Sadly, the service at the bar was one slow disappearing act and the food ranged from totally meh to mostly meh. * Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich($ 9.50) Safe mix of chopped Meat and Hoagie Bread … boring * BBQ Combo Platter($ 16) Dry chicken, average pork, & chunky beef. Neither BBQ sauce matched any of them * Marionberry Cobbler($ 4) Remarkably dull jammed into a small bowl … Meh-rionBerry This is Longview, so, there may not be many similar spots to Hop ‘n Grape. If the food was tasty and service consistent, I’d be a fan, but the small, yet diverse selection of beers on draft will be enough to bring me back when it’s Saturday night and I’m ready to learn the proper usage of the verb drank.
