My review is on just the bbq not the sides. The bbq is delicious, the sides are your basic cafeteria fare. From now on we will just get the bbq to go and make the sides at home! The brisket was amazing!

We were driving back to Dallas all the way from Florida on Thanksgiving of all days. We found this place on Unilocal!just in the nick of time! Outstanding BBQ, delicious bread, and they even had stuffing for a side! So, I got stuffing after all! The chopped brisket sandwich with spicy BBQ sauce was some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had! The staff was all super nice!(I had even called minutes before we arrived to see if they were even open, and they were super polite on the phone.) Definitely eat here if you want good food! Bonus: they had a fireplace and TV, so we got a bit of the football game too! :D

I had the veggie plate and chose 3 sides. All very good! Greens, broccoli salad and broccoli rice casserole. Yum. Cornbread was a bit dry.

I love this place. The food is top notch. I drive over from Shreveport just to eat here. The sliced brisket Is always perfect. The only reason I did not give it five stars is be case of the price. They are very expensive in my opinion but I pay the price so it must be worth it.

I stopped by here not expecting much and was so surprised when I walked in. There’s a ton of food and snacks to chose from, as well as souvenirs. Very clean and organized. I ordered their rib plate which came with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and corn bread. All super tasty. The Sonic in there was convenient — I ordered onion rings and drinks. There was also lots of desserts to choose from but I didn’t get a chance to try it. Def stop by if you’re in the area to get gas and a great meal.

We got the 4-meat plate: brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and quarter chicken; green beans and red potatoes and toast for the sides. I had the spicy BBQ(fantastic!!!) and the husband had the regular BBQ which he said was good. In a very large gas station, but it is clean with friendly staff. I will be back for some good BBQ again. Very impressed.

Don’t know about the food but the pumps shut me off at $ 50. Then the pump didn’t have any paper in it so I had to go inside to get a receipt. I was going inside for some snacks and drinks but was so chapped off I bought nothing

A must stop! We really like this truck stop, if you can call it that. They have nice clean bathrooms. They have unique food items like Jones Soda and home made jerky. They also have a good selection of gifts. I enjoying browsing the store and the staff us friendly.

Very clean, clean restrooms, nice food choices, and lots of stuff to buy or just look at. This is a great place to stretch your legs, refuel the car and body… and reload the car with snacks!

Lunch with the bride– Clean, friendly, free jerky samples, nice layout, multiple selections(store, Sonic, bakery, smoke house BBQ). But I gotta tell ya, the food wasn’t that great. I had the pulled pork sammich. The bread was wet from the butter on the outside of the bun. Pretty nasty stuff. The veggies was old and soggy. My bride’s potato salad was from a can, not fresh. I’m not saying I won’t be back but I am saying I’ll choose more wisely when I do go back.

Stopped based on Unilocal!reviews. Not bad but I would go to Rudy’s, Bodacious or Stanley’s in Tyler if traveling IH20 again. If you do stop here, go with the brisket. Both the ribs and pulled pork were bitter(not smooth) with too much smoke. The ribs were a bit fatty, too. Our cutter, Amer, was great.

Let me preface this by saying I’ve only been here once… With that being said, I was still very impressed with the place. Very neat. Conveniently located by a gas station, other restaurants, and the bus station. I didn’t get to order the barbecue because I didn’t have enough time, but I can say that it smelled great. I just ordered a tuna sandwich from the convenience store attached to it, and it was really good. If I am ever back in Longview, I will surely give it another shot!

Great location! When you imagine a truck stop in Texas this is what it should be. Big boy rocking chairs out front, Stylish wooden furniture indoors, Clean banos, Kolaches, Sonic burgers, Boiled greens with meat scraps and corn bread, Huge selection of dried jerky, Smoked meat by the pound(the brisket was so tender I had to scoop it up by hand) A warm batch of spicy marron BBQ sauce with a ladle that can smother like a mother! Oh yea and don’t forget why you came in, sixer of tall boys and a «Don’t Mess With Texas» bottle opener key chain on the way out.

First off, this chain of gas stations has the cleanest restrooms around. The BBQ place is ok. Nothing special and overpriced. The sides are pretty decent. The Kolache place once the best sausage kolaches on the planet which featured their own brand of sausage but they recently switched to a different, cheaper sausage and are now on the level of any donut shop. Nothing special. If you need to use the bathroom go ahead and stop.

Don’t let the location fool ya; located inside a gas station this place has got to be one of the better BBQ places here in Longview. Bodacious does not even hold gravy when it comes to Texas Best Smokehouse. Sliced brisket samwich, mac n’ cheese, and slaw set me back around $ 13 — which is normal. The meat was tender, moist and and fell apart instantly. You can also choose from a ton of sides, as well as two different style BBQ sauces — mild and spicy.

Ok, I was a little hesitant to eat at a place that was technically a truck stop, but Unilocal has never steered me wrong yet, so I gave it a shot. And BOY, was I glad I did! I got the 3 rib dinner and they were pretty much the best ribs I’d ever had. Tender, falling off the bone, perfectly sauced… I was in heaven. And they have tons of sides to chose from, so there’s lots of variety. My boyfriend had the brisket with black-eyed peas and he was equally happy. The people there are all really friendly, and the place was surprisingly clean and nice for a truck stop. After we ate, we window-shopped through all the funny, kitschy stuff they have. If you’re a tourist and passing by, this place is a MUST. It’s charming, fun, and the food is delicious and amazingly affordable.(Less than $ 10 a person for dinner if you opt to get water instead of soda for your drink, which I generally do, anyway.) If you went to a more upscale steakhouse, you’d probably be spending almost double that, and would probably have to deal with crabby waiters, so it’s win-win all around!
