I’m a new patient with Dr. Mercer after not having been to a dentist in several years. First appointment went great. I was in and out quickly and Dr. Mercer even did my cleaning himself since my initial checkup was ahead of schedule and the hygienist was still busy with another patient. Even though their office is in an older looking building, they have all the modern equipment(digital x-ray, digital camera that takes pictures of your teeth, etc.). They took the time to explain everything they were doing and showed me pictures of what was going on with my teeth. The previous dentist I went to always tried to sell me extra stuff that wasn’t really necessary(expensive mouth washes, etc.). I was very happy that Dr. Mercer didn’t do that. Considering that I hadn’t been to the dentist in almost 4 years I was also very happy that he didn’t find any problems with my teeth, which makes me trust that he’s not the type of dentist that will recommend unnecessary work. I have two insurance companies and they took care of the billing without any problem.

I recently received services from Dr Mercer’s office and was quite impressed by the level of customer service and personal attention by Dr Mercer himself to ensure the best possible care. The office is very clean, the staff is very professional and both the hygienists and Dr Mercer are very knowledgeable. I normally read reviews about providers and after receiving services from this office find it unbelievable that they could receive ANY negative reviews. I feel very comfortable and confident that I have and will continue to receive an exceptional level of service, therefore I will continue to use Dr Mercer’s office for all my dental needs.

We as a family been going here for many, many years. He is the only DR in the office. If he is on vacation or takes a day off, they whole office is shut down during the same as he is gone. Sometimes its hard to get a hold of someone during the holidays. The office is open Monday to Thursday from 8 – 5. closed on Fridays. My husband had to take half the day off from work just to come in for a visit. The person who does the billing does not know what she is doing. We have 2 insurnaces, and for some reason she gets them messed up. She has to keep rebilling the insurances for payment. She would bill one insurnace and not the other. After 2 months of fighting my billing account, it turns out they don’t take my husbands insurnace. They could have told me that before the appointment. I told them its their fault, and they will writing off my balance for that mistake. Since then, I have found another dentist in the next town over with better billing pracitices, staff, education, and office hours. My new office hours are open late, open on Fridays and Saturdays. Very glad that I made the change to another place.

Dr. Barry Mercer has worked wonders fixing my teeth over the years. I’ve always been greeted with a smile by his staff and they treat you really well. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here from getting cavities fixed to getting the zoom whitening done. I’ve always been pleased with the results. The one time that I wasn’t pleased with the whitening Dr. Mercer gave me a kit to do at home and that fixed my concerns. I’ve always been treated well here until I became unemployed. I have made every payment to Dr. Mercer on time, in full, and at the time of visit. We’re talking a lot of appointments here. I’m sad to report(so sad that I even cried) when Dr. Mercer wouldn’t take me for an appointment with I was in pain and suffering from a cavity. I was in shock and utter disbelief. You would think that if you’ve made a loyal customer, you would treat them well in their time of need. I had lost my job, needed help with a cavity and was willing to empty what little I had in my bank account and make payments. They said no and referred me to a program that I am too old to qualify for. This was a dentist that I really trusted and recommended to anyone. I spoke high marks of this place and felt 100% at ease during every visit. This place was always a 5 star place to me. Based on the last event, I’d give them only 1 star, but I’ll be kind and average it out to 3. In sum: if you have money and can pay for everything up front, do come here. You’ll be well taken care of. If you’re a victim of the recession like I was, don’t come here. You will be turned away, even if you were a loyal customer for years. Now that I have dental insurance again and have a job again, I doubt I will come back. I’ll go elsewhere to a company who is more sympathetic and is willing to make payment plans in the event that I cannot pay in full.
