Freshway Fish

I happened to stumble upon Freshway at the little Monday farmers market at Kaiser Pointe West. I talked to the vendor for quite a while. He’s obviously passionate about this family business. Fish did not smell fishy and looked good. I sampled the smoked salmon which was nice and moist and not overly sweet. Since I was in the market for fish for dinner, I decided to give them a try. Got a nice halibut filet and a first-​time buyer discount as well. I baked it and served with a light sweet curry sauce and it was excellent. Lovely flavor and texture. I will be buying from them again. I love to support local businesses and it’s easy to do when the quality of the product is this good!

Where do I start, the fish is amazing! I go to the Folsom old town farmers market just to shop this great business. My favorite item is the smoked salmon, it’s out of this world. I have NEVER had smoked salmon this good. I’ve been buying this smoked salmon all summer long. Recently my husband found a pkg of the store bought smoked salmon in the pantry (in my defense I didn’t buy it) OMG it was AWFUL, tasted like dog food. I’ve been spoiled by Freshway, will never look back when it comes to the smoked salmon, Ok I think I’ve made my point about how this place is not to be missed.

If you love to support family business this is surely one that you will really want to support!!! Really nice staff and of course their fish. Which is nothing short of amazing. The quality is right up there with high end markets like whole foods. Their smoked salmon is about as good as it gets! We ate it cold and the fish just falls off the skin and is superb. We also got some of their poke. It was quite spicy which was the only negative. We dont like super spicy but I ate it regardless because the ahi is just that good!!! For suuuure will be spreading the word to chef friends and home cooks alike that this is a great treat. One thing you can do is order it and pick it up at one of the many farmers markets around town they attend. Otherwise you will need to get to one of those markets early as the smoked salmon sells out every week! You can check their website to see where they will be and when.
If you love fish this is worthy of spending the money!!!

Very tasty & fresh fish. Highly recommend! Also ask for a frequent shopper card. When its full you get a nice savings off your bill. These are very nice people, locals from Loomis. They sell their fish at the farmers Mkts; Saturday at Old Town Folsom Mkt & Sunday at Carmichael Park Mkt. They do visit other mkts so ask. I’ve never had one funny tasting fish or any issue. They take paypal on their cell phone which makes it easier & more convenient. Go support these local folks. You will be more than glad you did, thank me when you do!

I seriously give this place 5 stars due to their friendliness and great customer service. If you’re looking for really fresh seafood in the Roseville/​Auburn area this is the place to go. It’s a family owned business and they really take customer service really seriously. My girlfriend wanted to do a seafood Thanksgiving and we got a good price for some really great tasting product. Great place for fresh seafood. Highly recommend.
