The vineyard is beautfiul. The tasting room and the patio are gorgeous, I wish we could have stayed longer and hung out in the cold sunshine, but it was not to be. I’m taking this place down a couple stars for a few reasons. 1. They charge $ 5 for a tasting. Most places in Washington(outside of Woodinville) don’t charge you for tasting, and if they do they waive it if you buy a bottle. Not here — you get charged no matter what. 2. They will not go the extra step to make a sale. They assume everything they have is wonderful(it’s not) and you should buy it irrelevant to whether you’ve tried it. We love wine tasting, exploring new wineries and vineyards and most places we go we’ve found that once you’ve started a nice conversation with your pourer and they realize you actually want to taste wine and not get drunk, and then buy wine, they’ll give you a couple more options if you’re interested. Not here — what you see it what you get. 3. It’s over-priced. The wines were average for Washington State, but they were charging high-end prices. I don’t know of many wineries in Washington that are selling their malbecs for more than $ 20 a bottle.

i felt like a total dick for not bringing snacks and hanging out here longer. it was $ 3 for tasting 6 different wines. 3 whites, 2 reds, and a rasberry dessert wine. we ordered half a case of the Lopez organically grown wines. i usually can’t tell a fuck of a difference but the Lopez grown grapes really did make the best wine. also, is wine-tasting a place for swingers? i swear some of the women there were giving me a strong helping of fuck-eye. maybe it was the wine. maybe the moms wanna do it with me. BAD. either way, this place is beautiful and worth a stop if you’re on the island.
