Finally stopped in for a homestyle buffet dinner after passing many times. Chose a Wednesday evening, because that’s when Johnny Memphis performs his one man show, singing«the oldies» and some gospel. The buffet price was fantastic at about $ 12 per person, including drink. They also have a regular menu to order from. The staff is super friendly. The best thing on the buffet was home made steak fingers and mashed potatoes! This restaurant’s business is currently taking a hit due to I-35 construction, so come support a great homestyle restaurant

Sweet Lord these rolls!!! My inner fat girl is happy as a clam. Super service and great comfort food. The cream gravy is fantastic in the chicken fried steak fingers. Be sure to make this a stop. Easy and plentiful parking. Prices super reasonable.

Great food. Nice hometown style all you can eat. Liver and onions on Thursday and Elvis night on Wednesday. If I could just convince them to do those two on the same day… My daughter who is three ate for free and my wife’s meal was discounted because she didn’t eat any meat. All around great meal.

Food was delicious! Although the salad bar is limited, it was also delicious! I could have eaten three salads, they were so good. Next time we come back I am getting the salad only buffet plate! Meats were good, sides were good. I’m not big on catfish but if you are, COMEHERE! Per the hubby and father in law this is the best catfish for miles and miles. The only reason I docked one star is the extremely dated décor, building, etc. P. S. Their ranch dressing is AWESOME!

The food was great– it always is, but the service makes it special. I was running late, and they now close at 8, so I called ahead and asked if I showed up at closing, but promised to eat fast, would they let me in? They said come on! I walked in, and she asked if I was the guy who called. Yes, I told her, and she set me a table and took my drink order. The young man tending the buffet asked as well«are you the man that called? I cooked you some fresh catfish.» How nice is that? So warmly received, such good food, and what a bargain– $ 13 including tax and a glass of milk.

Two companions and I had lunch here today. First time for all three of us. We each had the all you can eat buffet. There were about 6 different meat choices and 8 or 10 vegetable choices. Also, a decent salad bar and several dessert choices. Not bad for less than $ 10. All the food was good, some of it was very good. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Will return and recommend if your ever in the area.

Fantastic southern buffet! Decided to come here based on reviews. Rolled in ten minutes till close and were warmly greeted. Everyone was super friendly they made sure we were fully fed, desserts and all, before pulling the buffet(we were the last customer and it was past closing time). I’m in a happy little food coma now. We will make this a scheduled stop next time we come through/or are anywhere in the vicinity of Lorena.

I’m usually not a buffet guy, but when I stopped in around 4PM that’s what there was. I say I’m not a buffet guy because most of them have a bunch or over greasy lukewarm garbage — this place was great, I grabbed a little of everything, and was pleasantly surprised with almost every single thing. The waitress also never once let my tea get below half a glass and was genuinely a nice lady, as was the buffet host guy.

On our way to dropping our daughter off at Baylor after the holiday break we ran across this place outside of Waco. After reading some of the reviews on Unilocal we decided to give it a try! Pleasantly surprised the staff is very friendly and the food is pretty good! Nice, hot and fresh lots of great choices! Turkey with dressing. Salisbury steak. Mashed potatoes, green beans, okra, corn. A nice salad bar and plenty of desserts! If you’re ever traveling on I-35 N check this place out. Right off the freeway! Two thumbs up!

If there is anything truck drivers know, it’s great food! My codriver and I were passing though a few weeks ago and decided to stop here. Lemmie tell ya; this place is top notch! I have stopped at buffets all over this country, and Raymond’s Southern Kitchen is easily in my top 3 favorites anywhere. The catfish had the best flavor I have ever tasted. The chicken fried steak was 2nd only to Longhorn Tavern in Bryan. The butter beans and mashed potatoes and squash and on and on were all absolutely scrumptious. 4 thumbs up from these 2 drivers!

After being on vacation all week, it was nice to have some home cooking. Had hamburger steak, salmon patties, cabbage, and broccoli salad. They had desert also, but was too stuffed to eat it.

We were driving through looking for a great local place to support instead of a big box chain. Boy were we disappointed. The food looked great! The staff were all fantastic. The salad bar was much better than many we have been to. It was fresh and tasty! The food looked much better than it tasted. Nine of it had any flavor. All of the meats were tough. The veggies were all overlooked. Items that should be crunchy like the fried okra and chicken fried steak were soft and mushy. We left a lot of food on the table because we filled our plates and didn’t eat any of it. Then to get a 26 $ ticket at the end. Really disappointing. We will never make this mistake again. Pass this one by… Don’t waste the $$ unless all you want is a good salad.

Pleasantly surprised. We were headed back to Dallas from Austin and I pulled off to get gas. We figured that we needed to have something for Linner(lunch/dinner). The gas station was right next door to Raymond’s and I found some decent reviews so we figured«How bad could it be?» We were not expecting much, especially since it was about 4pm which is generally too later for lunch and too early for dinner. I was expecting to see a lot of old nasty food on the buffet. I was completely wrong. This place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is fresh. That have many of the Southern staples, chicken fried steak, catfish, smothered steak, greens, mashed potatoes, etc. Overall, the food was good, the price was right and the location was perfect.

Accident on 35… Big surprise right! Cars start moving and we pull off to grab some grub for a bottomless pit of a 13yr old and a hungry 5yr old. Happy to find this lil gem! LUV the sign on the FRONTDOOR asking to acknowledge their RIGHT to refuse the bathroom to foot traffic, and no folks a $ 1.25 togo cup of diet coke is not the purchase they nor need being a LOCAL, Family restaurant. Support the lil guy folks gas station is 100 yards away! Sat down to eat and have some sweet tea. Great food, All of it. Awesome wait staff. Girls were on point with those fresh rolls and tea. Will be back. BTW, 13 had 4 plates plus desert.

I did not really care for the food here. My family came here on a Friday night and we were almost the only ones there. There was a very limited selection of food and we didn’t think any of it was that great. Our waitress was very sweet but I do not think we will be back. Maybe we just aren’t fans of traditionally southern food.

I was driving through on vacation and stopped to eat with my husband and sister. Buffet offerings were limited, but the food was hot and pleasant. Some of their food was under seasoned, but a little salt helped that. The salmon croquettes appeared to be homemade and quite tasty as well as most of the buffet items, though I’d prefer fresh chicken over canned chicken in the chicken tetrazzini. Desert options were limited, but the apple cobbler was warm and tasty. Fresh fruit gave the salad bar a nice addition! Would definitely eat here again for some simple southern cooking.

We stopped in on our way to Austin and grabbed some fried pickles, chicken wings and sweet tea to go. They also have a buffet of comfort food that many people seemed to be enjoying. While we waited we chatted with the wait staff that was all very nice. The food was piping hot and good. The only con is that the restrooms were not as tidy as I would have liked but I got the impression that they do clean them(felt more like they hadn’t been checked in a while versus not cleaned at all).

Excellent. Great place for southern food on a buffet line. A regular stop when passing through Waco(Lorena is just to the south). Chicken fried steak, fried catfish, stewed and fried okra, sweet potatoes, cabbage, biscuits and sweet ice tea! It even has a decent salad bar. My only disappointment concerning Raymond’s is that the last time through I got caught in traffic and could not make it before closing time.

Worst place I have ever been!!! The owner/manager was so rude waiting at the door to tell my 9 month baby and I to leave even though I had every intention of buying something after changing her. Absolutely ridiculous!!!
