We had looked all over for a ceiling pendant light that would look good in a room with several late 19th Century lamps. The light needed to replace an existing can light. A shop owner in Salado suggested trying this shop, so we drove an hour to get there, and are so glad we did! The owner, Bruce, really listened. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted but I knew what I didn’t want. He was quick to identify acceptable options, and he and his assistant spent over an hour with us, showing us lamps in the shop and in many lighting books. We especially liked two very different ones that he had in the shop, and we couldn’t decide which would work best. Bruce thought we should take both of them home so we could see them in our home. Yep, that’s right. He packed them up and sent them home with us for a trial. No deposit, just a handshake and a promise, and we were on our way with two lovely lights to try. We picked the one we liked best but wanted a different color metal, so we called Bruce and placed a special order. He said it would be about two weeks until the lamp came in, and there was no need for us to make the trip up to return the trial lights; we should just bring them when we came to pick up our order. We drove up to get our new light today and we are very pleased. Bruce took the time to advise my husband on mounting the light with the existing can light using a can light conversion kit. The light is now hanging in its place and it is perfect. Bruce and his staff specialize in custom lighting. They can create a table lamp out of almost anything, renovate antique or broken lighting, and custom finish almost any fixture to a color of your choice. They have hundreds of shades, finials, and antique lamp parts. Couple all of that with the best service and the nicest folks ever and you cannot justify going anywhere else. This is the real deal.
