Inova HealthPlex- Lorton

My 7-​year old daughter was seen on May 30, 2016 for a high fever, sore throat, and earache. I explained her symptoms to the Nurse and although the urgent care was busy, the doctor ordered tests that were not relevant to her condition. He went based on what the nurse told him without ever checking his patient and ordered a chest X-​ray which is extremely invasive for a child of that age. In addition, she was poked and probed to get blood which again, didn’t make sense for her symptoms. Her throat and nasal cultures came back negative for strep and the flu. He sent her home, with no medication stating that OTC Motrin and Tylenol will suffice. It’s been 3 days and she still has a fever and I called back Lorton Healthplex indicating that her symptoms have gotten worse and not better and a nurse recommended she take and OTC throat spray to help alleviate her pain. I called in today, June 2, 2016 and spoke with a nurse Brittany who was extremely curt, dismissive and did not assist me in any way. I explained to her the incompetence and neglect of Dr. Marchline, my limitations as far as transportation is concerned and the fact that it is not only extremely expensive but I am utterly apprehensive in coming back to the same Lorton Healthplex that was completely irresponsible and incompetent. I did not appreciate Brittany’s poor mannerisms, given that she is a nurse who’s title and responsibility is to care, and yet was super insensitive to the entire situation. I have never experienced such distasteful service in an Inova facility and honestly feel the quality of care and staff hired need to work on their bedside manners in addition to the medical knowledge they give. Very very disappointed and will not recommend nor return to such a poorly managed facility.

As this is a new facility I’m not sure how many people realize that it’s here! With that being said the wait was nonexistent, and the facility was clean and had great amenities.
All of the staff was very friendly. Our nurse was Tiff and she was AMAZING — thoughtful, kind, attentive; she answered all of our questions. This is probably the best experience that I’ve had at a emergency facility. I do not plan to come back anytime soon, but I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need.

I went to get lab work done. Clean, friendly & knowledgable personnel, easy breezy parking! Wait time was minimal and reasonable. I wish I lived closer to it!

From my long experience here, I’ll try to keep it simple.
Came in here having an asthma attack feeling like I’m about to drop & expire. I would’ve thought I would’ve been taken IMMEDIATELY because I consider that life threatening. The front desk receptionist only asks for ID & insurance. I do have both but could’ve been dying & that’s all you’re concerned about?! Unacceptable! When I got in an auto accident & rushed to the hospital, at least Inova Fair Oaks had the decency to ask for billing info AFTER I was stabilized!
FINALLY taken back after I proved I had my medical ‘green card’, the doctors were thorough yet slow with progress. The nurses were ok but feel this must be a facility where nurses must work right after schooling. It took about 4+ of them to draw blood/​IV insertion, whereas I go to a lab bimonthly for blood work & the nurse is done in 5 mins. Anyway, the CT tech was nice & thorough with my scan. It took couple of hours to wait for the results, though.
After 7 – 8 hours, was finally discharged. Came home with ekg sticky things on my body. I would only come back for something very minor during off peak hours. I felt my well being/​life was not the main concern (which it should’ve been), just how they’ll get reimbursed was.

Inova LORTON personnel are professional, compassionate, knowledgeable!
I speak as one who has been a patient 4 times on an emergency basis, two of which, were life threatening i. e Afib, high
Bp & V. Tachycardia!

Excellent customer service!

Great staff, very helpful and attentive when my husband had to be rushed to the ER. They were also very knowledgeable about his condition and gave quick service to get it controlled. It’s so nice to have a quality health care facility nearby.
