The crawfish is amazing. I found some surprise at this little Thai restaurant. Can wait to go again.

Was really excited to eat here but was a little letdown after all the stellar reviews. We came in and the place was empty, I guess we missed the lunch rush bc other reviews say its always busy. Its a smaller place inside but really charming. We picked a table and waited a while for the server. As we waited I could hear her talking aloud to someone(turned out it was a neighbor) about rude customers she had earlier. A bit unproffesional imo. When she did get to us she was really nice however. Food was decent. My wife and I shared the drunken noodles and kaprow. My dish was extremely salty. The thai tea I had to wash it down was really good I have to say. All in all, I probably wont be back but I’m glad I tried this spot.

4.5 Stars. Still one of my favorite places for delicious comfort food with flair! The Red Curry Jerk Chicken is INTENSE. Suuuper spicy but soooo good. The Green Curry with Fried Tilapia also packs some heat. And the Curry Chicken Bombay is still my go-to pick. I’ve been asking to swap the white rice that comes with most entrees for steamed vegetables instead, and they’ve always been awesome about it. Most, if not all, of the protein in their dishes are deep fried Cajun style and smothered in delicious sauces, so the steamed veggies help with the guilt!

Excellent Thai… Food is very good, reasonable price, good service. The only downside is that it is a very small venue, with seating for 24 only, get there early for lunch. UPDATE: !!! Been here many times(over 10) now and the food remains consistent and delicious!!! Mild to HEAT: 1 – 10 1 – 2 The Bombay Curry Chicken 4 – 5 The Chipoltle Chicken 8+ The Red Curry Jerk Chicken… (They will adjust heat according to taste and preference)

This place is so good! I came here during my lunch break and got this Jamaican Chicken Curry with a Thai Tea. SOGOOD! It was spicy even for my taste buds.

Ordered carry out today but I’ve dined inside before. It’s very limited seating. Got the same thing as last time. Spicy okra gumbo, Pad Thai with Popcorn Crawfish, and the red curry jerk chicken with noodles instead of rice. This place is Thai food mixed with Cajun ingredients. Everything is so delicious and hits the spot every time. Their hours are only Monday — Friday 11am-7:45pm so always have to find time to go on a weekday because this is such a hike for me. The owner which is the Thai lady, she is very friendly and nice. Definitely worth to get whenever anyone is in the area.

This place is spot on! I work around the corner so I frequent here and boy oh boy every single time its amazing. I mostly order the chipotle chicken and its just so delicious and perfectly prepared every time I have it. Its crispy and topped with onions and peppers and has this semi spicy sauce to it… simply delicious. I have also had their large flat noodles with beef and I have also had it with shrimp… AMAZING. I do not think they have one bad thing on their menu to be honest. The staff is always great, honest, and kind(they are all family I believe).

I wanted to try something new for lunch. I’m usually a salad luncher, but this place was amazing. I loved the Bourbon Shrimp. I’m not a super spicy type of person, so I chose this dish and I was not disappointed. It’s a small location, but that doesn’t take away from the delicious dishes. Staff was friendly and personable and service was quick. Waited no more than 5 – 10 minutes got my dish. Fresh, not old tasting like some places. There were a lot of regulars and that says something about the restaurant. People love what they are doing here. I’ll definitely come again when in Lorton.

The people are friendly, and the food is very tasty. I enjoyed the beef basil and the drunken noodle. I’m a little disappointed in the quantity per price, but it’s a rare treat these days. The food was cooked well… not over or under done. The order came up pretty quickly. I might not have gotten to the calamari in time for it to still be crisp, so I would be willing to possibly try it again. My hubby said the batter was bland, but the sauce was good.

I don’t know what I did today. Instead of hitting up my regular spot that is awesome… Hunan Deli… a little voice is said… FINALLY go try the place next to it. Bad move. Like someone else said in an earleir review… Chicken pad see ew – Below average. The chicken was breaded & soggy. It seemed like they took the chicken from another dish & tried to stir fry it in. This was the first pad see ew I’ve ever had with breaded fried protien in it. It also totally lacked flavor as I douced it with their offering of dried red pepers and pickeled jalapeño. The service was nice… the price($ 11 in an industrial strip in THIS area?) for lunch was not nice. Also only chicken and shrimp options. Where is the pork and beef? I hate to do it… but why fry the chicken.

We were looking to try something a little different and ThaiBox delivered. There seem to be a fair amount of regulars for this place, which as other people have described is located in a strip mall. Crawfish Jambalaya — Fairly tasty, although I found the crawfish pretty bland, and the batter didn’t help(I think the crawfish is the same as the popcorn crawfish?). The shrimp, chicken, sausage were fine. Red Curry Jerk Chicken — Yes it is spicy and yes it delicious. It’s the kind where you’ll take a bite, swig some water, and then go back for more. This place has an interesting niche, and I’ll definitely try to come by again sometime when I’m in the area.

What a wonderful roadtrip stopping point! I never would have thought of mixing Thai and Cajun food together, but really, why not? My drunken noodle with lightly battered and fried catfish was wondrous. The catfish helped cut through the deliciously spicy drunken noodle. My husband’s jambalaya was flavorful and definitely packed a punch. The service was also very attentive, quick, and friendly, and I loved how much personality this little place had. I’d be a regular if it was closer to where I lived, but I’m happy to revisit on every roadtrip South from here on out.

Thai and Cajun? Yes, I know what you’re thinking but it’s true – two diverse cuisines rolled into one little ThaiBox. I’m so glad that I finally got to try it! This place is tucked away in an industrial strip mall in Lorton off of Telegraph Road. All of the Unilocalers are correct, ThaiBox is, well, a… box. That is, it has a small dining area with only about 10 small tables max. I was in the area running errands so I decided to get take out. I got the Lemongrass Shrimp Soup(aka Tom Yum), Shrimp Pad Thai, and Pecan Crusted Fish. Lemongrass Shrimp Soup: I didn’t try the soup but I was told that it had a really good balance of flavors and that the shrimp tasted great. Shrimp Pad Thai: I am usually a fan of any kind of fried shrimp but I didn’t expect it to be served on top of Pad Thai. Overall, the dish was not hitting all the noodley flavors that I wanted. I love the sweet and savory flavor combo that Pad Thai usually has to offer – mostly from the fish sauce and tamarind. Pecan Crusted Fish: The type of fish filet is escaping my memory right now… but I absolutely cannot forget the amazing taste of this dish. I think it was a daily special(of which they have plenty!). The filet was coated with ground pecans and bread crumbs then fried so perfectly that the fish was still flaky tender. It was served on top of garlic fried rice and etoufee. Oh the etoufee, it was so delicious. I broke the etoufee rules and opted out of smothering the fish because I wanted to keep my fish crispy. It doesn’t matter if the etoufee is atop the fish, on the side, in a bowl, or on your plate because it is so good that you will want it on everything. The food didn’t take too long. While I was ordering and waiting, Sandy was so kind and welcoming. I don’t have any doubts that service would be great if I dined in as well. I can’t wait to come back and try more Cajun Thai food!

This is a classic case of don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Tucked away in an industrial strip mall, you will pass right by ThaiBox if you’re not looking for it. The atmosphere is cramped and dingy, but you won’t care after you start eating… Who knew that Thai and Cajun could be fused together so well? Every dish I’ve tried so far has been delicious and flavorful: The Pad Thai(my fav), Spicy Beef Basil(a tad on the salty side, but still yummy), Red Curry Jerk Chicken(the spiciest thing on the menu), and Curry Chicken Bombay. Their Thai iced tea and coffee are good, too. There is only one server — a sweet, welcoming lady who treats everyone like a friend. She somehow manages to take care of every table without breaking a sweat. Don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations or for an adjustment to the spice in your dish. ThaiBox is only open Mon-Fri from 11am to 8pm, so it’s a bummer they’re not open on weekends.

Was driving through the area recently and wanted to stop for lunch — we found this place solely based on its Unilocal reviews and we’re so glad we did! It’s a tiny nondescript restaurant hidden in a strip mall, but when we walked in around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon, the place was packed — they only had 1 table available, which we happily took. Food was excellent — I had the Spicy Beef Basil which was extremely tasty, but could have been spicier. My sister had Pad Thai which was very good. And my husband had the Red Curry Jerk Chicken which was the hands down winner of the bunch — really nice heat and SUPER flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and helpful as well. Sadly, I don’t live anywhere near the area. Otherwise, I’d definitely be back.

This is my new favorite spot for indulgent food! I almost don’t want to write a review so that no one else finds out about it. The food here is excellent. Very comforting, spicy, flavorful, and unique. I’ve tried the red curry jerk chicken, the yellow curry Bombay chicken, and the cajun fries. Both entrees are absolutely spectacular! The jerk chicken is not for the faint of heart — as far as spiciness level goes. It’s so delicious though, you won’t regret it. The Bombay chicken is probably more mid-range spicy and won’t make you sweat. Both curries are creamy and filling. The chicken is nicely fried, and it’s balanced well with the rice — a perfect portion for one person. I also love the fried garnish on top! Tip: share your dishes! It’s a great way to get variety and experience a change up in the flavor profile. Your tongue will be very much appreciative. The cajun fries weren’t really«cajun» in my opinion, but they were cooked well, and it was a nice break from the fiery flavors of the entrees. My friend got a steak sub, and it was huge! The bread was crusty, but the meat was tasty(according to her). Pricing is decent here for what you get to taste. It was frankly an honor to experience such bold, real flavors. I can’t wait until I can go here again. Our waitress was awesome — she was talkative, sweet, friendly, and personable. We enjoyed chatting with her! Furthermore, the atmosphere was very calm and quiet. There was a good number of tables, but I would stick to small groups. Bottom line: you don’t need to think twice before hitting this place up. Just go.

Update review from 4 stars to 5. I love this place and the food here. It’s different than your traditional«thai» flair. This Thai/cajun/creole infusion is ! It’s gotten to the point where I come once a week now(usually take out). Thank God my gym is right down the street also. Sandy is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and you can tell she loves the customers. The ONLY downfall is that they don’t open on weekends. Boo!!! How ironic that I ALWAYS crave it on a Saturday or Sunday. If you like spicy I highly recommend that Red Curry jerk Chicken. If you can’t handle the heat, then you can’t go wrong with the Bombay CHicken Curry. SHrimp Po Bpy is also excellent, but ask for extra sauce on the side. TRUSTME! Save room for the bread pudding! Or get it to go. It’s REALLY good! =)

Another great dinner. This time we brought a friend of my son and her daughter. It was like family visiting again. We ordered the she crab, lemongrass and gumbo soups. Since there were four of is, we took terms rotating the soups; so gross but so satisfying. I won’t see my son for several months since he is returning to UPR tomorrow. Oh, the entrees, wonderful. We shared again, but by this, I was a little stuffed. Another guess, who had ordered takeout was very supportive of our choices-seems a wonderful young man. Really love this place.

A quirky little mom and pop, literally in the heart of the industrial district in Lorton. Very little atmosphere but some of the most friendliest people running the place. The food is presented well, tasty and eclectic. Not purely Cajun nor Thai but for the Asian palette, it’s wonderful. Seating is limited, parking cramped but there are always people in here with a lot of regulars. If you need a Cajun fix, this is a good place to come especially in this area.
