Dave and Andy are real assets to the community and the service I have received from not only the staff, but Andy personally has always kept me coming back. Love this business and all it has to offer

I grew up in Los Alamos, and remember Mr Fox piloting the old Clement & Benner department store. Over the years I’ve seen so many businesses come and go in Los Alamos, but CB Fox has over the years stayed competitive and kept growing and improving. It has been several years since I visited and now there is a full toy store where I got some much needed last minute Christmas shopping. The main store has clothes, gifts, furniture, and of course shoes. For so many residents this saves a one hour drive for so many items. Great gifts, nice knowledgeable staff and a nice space. This is overall the definition of a great local business.

This place is under the assumption that every customer that walks through the door has a six figure income, so if your ready to purchase that much needed $ 200.00 backpack, or that $ 90.00 pair of shoes for your toddler than you are at the right place. I think this department store is very aware that it is one of the only places of its kind in the immediate area, and it has used that as leverage for making 300% profit on every sold item.

This is the only department store in Los Alamos, and I was a bit surprised by how much bigger it is than I expected. It’s no Macy’s but it is bigger than it looks from the street. It’s locally owned and the staff are helpful. My favorite part is that they wrap anything you get there for free! I got some presents for a few friends out of town, and they knew immediately that the presents were wrapped too nicely to be from me.

Los Alamos is a small community, 11K residents. This is our local department store who has the tough job of keeping in stock all sorts of things from sofas to dishware, and keeping them at competitive prices compared to Santa Fe. I think CB Fox has done a great job of offering a wide selection of items at reasonable prices. Their women’s clothing selection is elegant, their shoe selection is great(althought heavy on the outdoorwear), and I even priced lamps the other day and found them to be fairly priced. They carry Crabtree & Evelyn lotions and soaps and Thymes, both very good quality. I also purchased recently some chocolates from their chocolate selection, they were mints and were amazing! Next door is a children’s store which has toys and clothing. These items(clothing in particular), while of good quality, tended to be a little higher priced than I would purchase since we seem to replace my growing daughter’s wardrobe every 4 months or so . I also happen to know that the owner’s are supporters of our local animal shelter and were kind enough to let us raise money out in front of their store. Can’t beat that. All in all this is a great local resource for Los Alamos.
