A great place to eat breakfast. The menu is very small but the food was great. The coffee was good as well. It’s a smaller place and not very speedy but worth the wait.

Went to Daniel’s today for lunch with my kids. The service was amazing and friendly! My sandwich was delicious! I remember it being a BR31, but this is a nice transformation. My kids liked looking around and seeing the different décor.

This review is just about the gelato as well. I ordered the coffee river, and the balance between the coffee, hazelnut, and vanilla was incredible — I really enjoyed the consistency of the serving and how friendly and personable the service was. Writing from Los Angeles, Daniel’s Café really makes me miss my time in New Mexico!

Daniel served gelato at a wedding I attended. It was a hit. Delicious and he was very friendly.

I came here to get my fix for some ice cream. I have yet to order any actual food. My gelato was very tasty, my only complaint is the size. You’re going to pay up to $ 5 for only a few ounces of gelato. Yes it was tasty, but the price makes me weary to return.

Love this restaurant, for everything! My kids are in love with the gelato. The breakfast burritos are excellent and the made to order salads are my favorite!

This review is just about the gelato. I ordered the chocolate-hazelnut gelato and it was the best gelato I’ve ever had anywhere! Perfect gelato consistency, rich flavor, everything was perfect. They have a great selection of unique flavors. The place itself is very nice and clean and the people working there were very nice and courteous. Next time I’m in town, I’ll try some of their other food offerings.

I have to dismiss the other review from a person, from Los Alamos, who blasted Daniel’s breakfast burritos. Daniel’s, in my mind, has the best Breakfast Burritos in town. We recently had a family reunion in Los Alamos. One discussion was a debate over the best breakfast burrito in town. I thought I was the expert. I work here. But my sister(who works here too) told me to try Daniel’s. She said that it was, in her mind, the best in town. I have lots of respect for her judgement. She lives in the nearby valley, raises/roasts her own wicked hot chile. In fact she always carries some dried and powdered BAM in her purse if it is needed. She said the only drawback with Daniel’s is the time you get a burrito(10 minutes). True, the other facilities in town can have one kicked out in 60 seconds or less, but Daniel’s is different. They are made on the spot. And with LOVE. They have a few ready made ingredients standing by, but the secret is the eggs. They grill the eggs(not scrambled) over easy. That means you have a runny egg in the burrito(unless you request scrambled). But keep in mind that an over easy egg on chile is a delicacy out here in NM. Well, maybe not in Los Alamos, but it is in the surrounding areas. Also, the price is comparable to anything else in town but the burrito is twice as BIG. Be prepared not to eat it all and to relish later. The chile is flavorful, but as in all chile, it is hit or miss as far as the heat goes. I am a fan of red and highly critical of the green so when at Daniel’s I go xmas(red and green). There is not going to be a consistent heat level from green chile(red chile is green chile matured or ripened and kissed by the sun). If I were you and passing through, I would call your order in. It could serve as both your breakfast and lunch. There are many variations and Daniel and company can build it to order. This place, for me, was truly a surprise. The best in town. I would tell you why it towers over the others but that is not what this forum is about.

Pretty good food if you like a little bit of Enchiladas with your onions. The chips and salsa and Guac were great along with the shredded beef taco’s. The café itself was pretty nice but I felt like the worker’s were miserable and being forced to try to hard to make the place seem more Mexican. My boyfriend and I watched a manager follow a worker around while she was trying to clean, lecturing her. It was very inappropriate to do in front of customers…

Ate here after a long hike on the way to another one. Surprising selection — made to order salads, great sandwiches, ice cream counter, shakes and smoothies. All three in my party were first timers, and all of us will be returning. Counter staff very friendly and special orders done quickly and correctly. Sure, this is a restaurant in a commercial business building, but it’s well worth the trip.

Good sandwiches for lunch, friendly service. They need better ventilation to be cooking breakfast, however, as the entire dining area was«smoggy»(for lack of a better word) and my clothes stank afterwards. The actual breakfast burrito I got was decent.

Best burritos in town, hands down. Large tortillas, stuffed full, and not greasy at all. I could eat here every day fo breakfast and not get sick of it at all.

I agree with Kyle B… many great sandwiches at a reasonable price. Owner, Daniel, makes every effort to contact each customer, lauding both summer and winter menus. I’d eat there again, and again.

Great Sandwiches Owned and operated by Dan-Dan-the-Ice-Cream Man, this used to be Baskin Robbins — after a 3 month remodel, he re-opened selling sandwiches and Haagen-Dazs. The owner is friendly and pays attention to his customers — he is there almost everyday. Sandwiches are named after local(and in most cases well known) families that have submitted sandwich ideas to Dan — they also have a picture up on the wall. The sandwiches are all very good, my favorites include the Rueben, Italian Sub, Cuban, Triple Stack Club, and(this one really surprised me) the Veggie and Egg — basically egg salad made with avacado — this one is SOOOO good, you have to try it. He is open for dinner, but I have not tried that option yet, so I can’t review it. Breakfast is also a great option since Dan has a large waffle or pancake for only $ 1 — this is GREAT, making this the only option for breakfast in Los Alamos. Also, the breakfast sandwich is VERY good. All-in-all, Dan has worked very hard to make this a great option for dining in Los Alamos, and he has done a very good job.
