This was my son’s go to for MTG events that he saves his allowance to attend once a month. He was last there in December and when returned in January he was surprised and bummed to see the store boarded up. Not sure if there was a note on the door but hubby who took him didn’t park to find out. I wanted to know what happened, though expensive rent in downtown Los Altos was a suspicion. For those of you who also want to know, looks like they closed end of December and here’s a note from Karla(the owner) on their FB page on Jan. 2nd: «We will still sell Lego on eBay and our MTG products online for a short time till they run out. Then I go back to Chef dom. If you know anyone who wants a personal chef(Stanford, UC Davis) to deliver meals weekly(my“real job» other than Lego expert). I did the store as a community service but the area is just too expensive to operate for that reason alone. Thank you everyone for your support. Will miss you all, especially our dedicated and helpful regulars: Maio, Toby, Nathan, Max, Scott, Alex and all those I forgot to mention but will miss. I love Magic the Gathering and keeping kids off computers smile emoticon Karla“ We’ve been looking for another place like it, but didn’t want to drive far out of town, and recently heard Game Kastle has expanded to add a 3rd location — this time in Mountain View, in the San Antonio Shopping Center, taking over the old Daiso space. Looks like they have MTG events, and some kind of popular games flea market event. Also just received an email from SuccessChess that they will be hosting various modern board game Summer Camps there.

We have been there a couple of times and every time the people are super nice and welcoming. Also, they are very knowledgeable about Legos and Magic the Gathering. My kids have sold Legos there and got what seems like a VERY fair price. Their FNM drafts are a wonderful community building activity. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Build It Again With Bricks is my go to store for Magic: The Gathering. It offers games on Friday night and Sunday at 3 pm. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is casual. The FNM is draft, so if you are looking for standard, you will need to look elsewhere. The Friday crowd is experienced and the drafting and deck building usually done before time. Play is tight and with fun as the focus. Good for intermediate players who are looking to level up. The Sunday crowd has a mix of new middle school kids and 20 year veterans. It has a very family feel to it and lots of teaching happens. Everyone trades cards using apps so fair is the word. Its a great place to bring your child when they want to learn the game.

Recently started hosting Magic the Gathering and it is a fun and friendly environment for FNM and other events. The staff is helpful and is willing to try and help new people learn the game as well. The regulars at FNM are a wide range of skill and age which shows the diverse and unique nature of the players. The store has prices comparable to the other stores in the wider south bay area. Besides the fun environment the store provides for Magic they also offer a wide selection of LEGOs. The store owner is a big proponent of trying to get more women into both Magic and LEGOs with the hopes it will help them get into engineering and other scientific disciplines.

My son attended 2-hour lego workshop and just«love» it. It is kind of small place but enough for kids to enhance their creativity. It is sorry that they have no regular workshop on weekend.

Unilocal says they open at 10a on Saturdays, their sign said they open at 11a, we waited till 11:15 and no one showed. Get it together folks. 2 stars because my son liked what he saw through the window

Not really sure who is who or the relationships but the guy we saw there running the store was super friendly, easy going and seemed like a big time lego enthusiast. The lady running the place seemed irritable like she was burnt out or something. Bad day? After running into her muttering under her breath we were debating just leaving but then the guy switched places with her and the whole atmosphere in the store changed. He was chatting happily with people about certain collections so we sifted through some loose pieces and bought some interesting parts to use. The guy seemed to know a lot about so many of the different lego series.

The owner who was less than excited to meet us does not buy Lego as advertised. My son who went up to ask if she(was outside the store) would buy his Lego(s), she said«no minifigures, no instructions, nope.» She sounded like she was tired of them, «I’ve been buying Lego’s for years and it’s hard to put them back together.» Hmmm what does«Build it Again with Bricks» stand for? Not what we were expecting, she didn’t even invite us into her store.

A cute little place for people whose passion is building Lego. from 3 – 99 years old ! The owner developed an interesting concept of making parties or drop off at the shop while children can develop their imagination building all kind of objects and vehicles. Out of curiosity, we stopped by and found ourselves in a «boutique» full of Lego already built that you can purchase or buy in pieces.

Looks like this is a growing business that I saw listed also in Menlo Park: They have all sorts of Legos from all skill levels and projects. In my day you had like a handful of shapes and you came up with whatever you wanted via imagination. Im astounded by the level of detail and premade pieces these days. I guess with a Lego movie out it was the right time to capitalize on this timeless classic toy. Next time I need to buy an Aircraft Carrier kit, Ill hit this place up.
