Francis Lastufka, MD

Dr Lastufka has been my PCP for many years now and is a Really wonderful doctor. He does not insist on unnecessary medicine or procedures, is very friendly and amiable, is very knowledgeable across a variety of ailments and conditions (as is necessary in a PCP).

He will take your questions seriously (and take the time to address them) and has a straightforward rational approach to providing health care that is very reassuring.

Dr. Lastufka is first class in all areas. Not only is he very knowledgeable in all aspects of his profession, he has a very disarming personality, is very soft spoken and handles his job with the utmost humility. A characteristic undoubtedly lacking in other doctors. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor. In 2001 the Palo Alto Medical Foundation assigned me to Dr Lastufka at random. I’m glad they did. I find him knowledgeable and also willing to work with alternative treatments. When our son was born last year, Dr Lastufka became our pediatrician too. My wife even sees him occasionally when her regular physician isn’t available.

Having moved to the Bay area two years ago, Lastufka has been my doctor. He’s quite amazing at being able to accurately identify issues, and is accommodating in arranging appointments. I’ve never had a problem discussing anything with him, and he’s been helping me combat my genetics of high cholesterol and other such issues.
I believe he’s here two or three days a week, and then works in another facility on the other days, but I’d have to check. His assistants have always been helpful as well.
Lastufka is a great doctor for any family practice and general medicine. He’s very caring and always wants to make sure that you’re treated properly. He’s also makes great recommendations for specialists if you happen to need one.
The other benefit is that if you need any blood work done, there is a lab right next door so you can go right after your visit. In addition to that, you can receive your results online! You can’t beat that!
