I had a very nice meeting with D. Haya Rubin. I was responsive to her comments and recommendations. The cell phone rang a number of times during our session and she took the calls rather than hand them off to her assistant. On the positive side, she was trying to be responsive to her patients. Had the cell phone not interrupted our session several times, my rating would have been a 5 star rating. She was recommended to me by my gasto doctor. Her soothing demeanor is very welcome. No attempt to get me in an out in 15 minutes. The upfront fee was mentioned to me on the phone. I am sympathetic to the plight of teachers and doctors where there have been cutbacks in reimbursement and supplies. Teachers were doing fund raisers and getting donations for some basic materials. I also know a number of doctors have dropped insurance entirely. I would just as soon have her take insurance, and charge the upfront fee. What the insurance company pays to my son’s pediatrician is slightly over medicaid numbers but shockingly low especially given the rates in the bay area and the high cost of living. BTW, the charge from Dr. Rubin is an «annual charge» and not a one-timecharge for an entire lifetime of care.

Dr Rubin is a great diagnostician. I was having all kinds of weird symptoms, my blood chemistry was off, I wasn’t sleeping well, and I felt horrible. Within 6 months of following her advice, I feel a lot better, my bones don’t ache, and my blood chemistry is perfect. She takes the time to listen and properly diagnose/treat illness. If our insurance industry was doing the right thing for doctors, Dr Rubin wouldn’t have to request an additional fee to patients. The minor annual fee she charges is reasonable considering the amount of paperwork to process insurance for reimbursement. I recommend Dr Rubin to anyone who is serious about getting well and making life style changes to stay well.

I only came here once, trying to establish care with a primary case physician. Dr. Rubin did spend a good amount of time with me, getting my family history, and other background stuff. It was all going great. At the end, she handed me a sheet, which explained that there is an annual $ 150 fee, on top of whatever insurance pays, for«overhead». I only visit my doctor once or twice a year, so it’s not really worth it to me. I just wish this had been disclosed to me when setting up my 1st appointment, rather than after.
