Once Upon A Toe

I went to the Fremont street fair a week or so ago this year and saw Once Upon A Toe. I have had a sterling silver toe ring from Elegant Toes for over a year now and wanted another, and I figured that this would have the same quality toe rings. Unfortunately, I was quite wrong. I asked the woman working at the booth the price of various gold toe rings and realized that they were out of my budget. I am highly allergic to nickel which is why I initially wanted gold. But seeing as in the past I have had no problems with quality sterling silver necklaces, bracelets, rings, and my current toe ring, I figured the sterling silver toe rings at Once Upon A Toe would be safe. I explained my allergy to the woman to ensure that the silver was good quality. After talking to the woman, I purchased a toe ring embellished with flowers for $ 50, which is quite pricy for sterling silver. That day the toe ring turned my toe green. I was concerned because silver had never done this to my skin before. But I thought that since the ring was suppose to be sterling silver, I wouldn’t have any further issues. That night my toe was slightly itchy, but I chalked it up to my toe getting use to the ring. The next day the itchiness was worse and the part of my toe where the ring sat, was beginning to blister and a rash was forming. The third day my toe was bright red on top of the rashes and blisters. Unfortunately due to the size of the ring, I couldn’t get it off and had to cut it off that day. I am disappointed that I spent so much money on a ring that turned out to be made with cheap quality metal that triggered my allergy. If anyone has metal allergies and would like to get a toe ring, either find a different toe ring provider, or opt for the gold rings to avoid triggering an allergic reaction.

Found their booth at the Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival this year. I’ve always wanted a toe ring & finally got one. They lady that assisted me was quick & recommended the toe ring design I ended up buying. She also sized me & write it on a business card for me to reference next time.
