Round Table Pizza

Always come by when I’m back home. Classic pizza parlor vibe. Friendly staff, quick service. I don’t normally like chain pizza but Round Table has that slightly spicy sauce that reminds me of my childhood.

So normally I’m not a fan of chain pizza places but our yearly pizza run for the working crew for Yom Kippur’s normal place closed and we were looking for a place nearby for a group of 10.
After debating some maybe places we ended up here. I was worried with the low Unilocal ratings AND because when we arrived at 2pm we were the only customers there.
We had preordered 5 large pizza’s which included; all meat, combo, cheese, veggie & Hawaiian. We also ordered 2 orders of hot wings, sodas & a pitcher of beer.
Like most places the soda was a serve yourself. They had 5 beers in tab and we chose Shocktop.
Pizza was surprisingly very good, lots of cheese & toppings but the real winner was the crust which was crispy good with the perfect amount of dough, not thin crust and too thick and cooked perfectly through. Nothing is worse than doughy pizza. I also appreciated that toppings went nearly to the very edge so there wasn’t a huge crust with no toppings.
The real winner for me was the wings, a big basket with lots of hot sauce that is more tangy vinegar than chili hot. Paired with cool beer off the tap, I was one happy girl.
We ended up with 2 full medium pizza’s worth in left-​overs and some wings.

Rude people specially the manager Jack. Feels bad for the owner because they probably don’t know how the staff run the store.
Made an order and mistakenly chicken bbq and wasn’t aware that bacon was included on half of my pizza. I already paid for my pizza and I kindly asked if I can exchange it because I cannot eat bacon or any pork products. The manager Jack didn’t not want to replace it and expect me to pay for another order. Not only he’s rude and on a power trip. I ended up leaving the pizza on the counter because there’s nothing I can do with a pizza that I can’t eat. Worst experience and will definitely not come back to this location.

The quality and attitude are TERRIBLE. They gave me a virtually burnt pizza and charged me for a replacement. I would have refused but my daughter was hungry. Have been coming here for 10 years — ends today. Extremely unhappy.

I had some pizza delivered it arrived at the time I requested and the young man was very nice!

Absolutely horrible.
Never going again!
They took my phone order, messed up the order due to, let’s say, lack of communication skills.
And. .. charged me for the most expensive pizzas on the menu.
No apologies for making the wrong pizza and no refund.
I agree with the others, worst service possible.
Oh yeah. My order was for $ 150.
For your sake. Avoid at all costs.

Round Table is always great! The building is just okay. Good service. They were getting ready to close soon, but didn’t try to run us off. Delicious leftovers.

Received an undercooked, butchered excuse for a pizza for delivery. Manager Jack Hennessey refused to refund or replace, stating he had «made the pizza himself and it was fine when it went out for deliver»
I told him the pizza gnomes must have tampered with the pizza while out for delivery, to which he agreed.
Eventually he admitted the pizza was below standard, but still refused to refund or replace it.
Worst service possible.

I went in earlier tonight to redeem a Round Table certificate I won at an A’s game («Home Run Pizza»). When I presented it at the counter, the manager took a look at it and just gave me a snide, «We don’t do those». I stood there waiting for him to complete his thought (such as, maybe, «We don’t do those, but»…“free drink with pizza”…or, even «sorry»…), but there was nothing! As a customer (or at least a potential one), I was exasperated at the level of disrespect, which to me was far worse than not honoring a cert issued by Round Table (in itself pretty bad).
I left in disbelief. As for the three certificates, I’ll be mailing them back to Round Table, since they’re pretty much worthless.
BTW, I totally agree with the earlier comments about this Round Table being dark and dingy. The depressing ambiance perfectly complemented their horrific service.
So, if you ever need to punish yourself for say, a grave sin, just eat here and call it even.

Wow a really old timey Round Table. On the outskirts of downtown Los Altos, it’s never been a destination for me. However being in the area, on a time limit and crazing pizza I jumped in. Got a personal pepperoni and a drink for like 7.99. Ever noticed that RTP has a distinct smell to their pizza? It’s the same wherever you go. It’s crazy. I smelled it in Oakland like a week ago and it’s exactly the same. Pizza came out fairly quick and I go my fix. No more to say than that.

Good pizza coupled with great service.

Great food and service, but this place needs a much overdo remodel.

I normally LOVE Round Table Pizza. Unfortunately this Round Table is filthy; cold; and very noisy when there are people with their kids in there. Both times I have been in this place I have ordered TO GO! It is all I can do to sit there and wait to get the order and LEAVE!
I had been in this same location in 1962. I think it was relatively new then. Well, it has not changed and I am not sure they have cleaned the place since 1962.
Handicap access is very difficult from both the front and the back doors. No automatic doors for wheelchair; scooter; or electric chair patrons.

I pretty much agree with all the other mediocre reviews here — the place is old, the Pizza is just OK and the employees are not very nice. I also just heard this place is under new ownership and based on my experience yesterday that means it took a turn for the worse.
I got so mad at these people that I walked away without taking delivery of the three pizzas I ordered because they refused to give me credit for their on-​line coupons. I REALLY tried to print them out, but my printer wasn’t working and I had a house full of screaming birthday kids so I took a chance and tried to pick them up without the printed coupons. Once I got there, no amount of begging prodded these guys to make an exception to their «new policy». It had been a long day, the economy sucks and something inside me snapped. So I just looked the guy in the eye and walked out. I mean this was a total of $ 6.00 savings on a $ 50.00 pizza order and I am a pretty regular customer and this is how they want to treat me? So in the interest of punishing jerk behavior, I will never go there again, and all the families who attended our birthday party won’t be going there again. I will strongly suggest that none of our kids’ sports teams go there for parties ever again and I would ask Unilocal readers to do the same. Spot Pizza is about a block away, slightly cheaper and better tasting anyway.

This is one of the older Round Tables I’ve visited. Sure, it could use an update but, I think it being a bit of a pizza dive is part of the place’s charm. It is also small! We took the entire facility over recently for a end-​of-​season soccer party. It was a little crazy — 22 girls and their families complete with parents and siblings. The volume was loud, the scene chaotic and yet, the primarily high school age staff didn’t miss a beat! Pizzas were ordered, made and matched with their appropriate owners despite have to yell over masses of screaming and squealing. Well done RT staff!
By the way, we highly recommend the pan-​style Garlic Chicken pie! Delicious!

I don’t know why others have had problems but I’ve been coming here for over a year now and I have never gotten a wrong order nor have I ever gotten attitude on the phone.
Yeah, the bathrooms needs to be re-​done and the décor looks like it comes from the LAST time RT Pizza did a system-​wide re-​do but it works and the crew here treats me decently.
The only attitude I’ve ever seen were from stuck-​up customers that walk in thinking they are all that and thinking they are special. Fortunately, those only come around once a month or so I can enjoy my food.

My pizza rating system
1 star– it’s not even pizza because I love pizza too much to ever rate it 1 star.
2 stars– Pizza has some quality issue, or the restaurant has an unacceptable service/​atmosphere issue. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll still eat the pizza. I mean, it’s pizza and I LOVE pizza!
3 stars = standard California Pizza. Decent balance of sauce/​crust/​cheese. I’ll keep going back for more.
4 stars– Really good pizza. Perfect balance of sauce/​crust/​cheese, excellent spices, good quality toppings. I will seek out this pizza.
5 stars– You can’t have any because I will die consuming it all. Must be as good as my home-​made pizza.
So this Round Table is 2– It’s pretty much just standard pizza, not the best quality in the world & they will not deliver to my house, which is in Los Altos. Hello, it’s not the biggest city in the world, you’d think you’d deliver to the whole place! It’ss less than 10 minutes away! They will (and have) deliver to my work, though and the delivery guy was really nice!

I hate this round table, they only deliver till 8pm but usually not even ltill then. There’s always some reason why I can’t get pizza– the driver is sick or he has decided to go out on his last run of the day. If I wanted a real meal id probably eat at a regular time– if im ordering mediocre delivery pizza its going to be because I missed that. Then they are all pissy on the phone. They sometimes decide they dont accept cupons– lame.
The actual location is old and worn out. Go to applewood.
