Somewhere In Los Altos

Due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I had my color and highlights done here. However both the overall color and highlights faded in just 2 weeks. The service was very nice, but quality of color is lower than the average salon.

This was my first time going to a hair salon and it was amazing! My stylist, Vida, was literally one of the sweetest women I’ve ever met and she cut the most perfect asymmetrical bob that would fit my face. She’s very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to hair care and styling. I will definitely return here for another haircut in the future!

One day I got bored and decided to go to Target, bought myself some hair dye and disaster kicked in! My hair turn ORANGE! Made a call to Somewhere in Los Altos was connected to Beatriz she booked me in right away, Beatriz, calm me down and was so sweet she knew right away what color would look good on me, the dye was so gentle and no strong smells, today my hair looks amazing!!! A BIG shout out to «Beatriz» I am forever grateful!!!

Thank you, Bea, for being the most awesome hair stylist I’ve had in a long time! The last several hair stylists I went to lasted only one visit from me, as NOT ONE of them listened to my needs and desires regarding my hair (because they new my hair better than me?). However, Beatriz, on top of being genuinely sweet and affable, really cares and listens to her customers. I went in just for a haircut, and with recent issues concerning hair loss, I had my fears of having someone else handle my hair and scalp due to its sensitivity. NOT with Beatriz though. She listened to my concerns, was so gentle with me, that because she had time, I ended up having her color my hair also. She is so easy to talk to, I had such a good time while she worked on my hair. After she was all done, I could not believe how fabulous my hair cut AND color turned out. I told her I was going to a great concert the next day, she gave me some wonderful tips for my hair and make up, and she even gave me a sample of her makeup which worked wonders! I know I have found my permanent hair stylist! I work in Los Altos, but live 30 miles away, but even if I lived and worked 60 miles away, I will ALWAYS come back to Beatriz — Somewhere In Los Altos!!!
Again, THANK YOU, BEA for bringing my confidence back every time I look in the mirror and see a full-​bodied head of hair, with the awesome color that reflects just a hint of dark cherry color in the sun to boot! See you soon!

It’s such a relief to have found Beatriz! I liked my previous stylist, but it just seemed like my hair came out different each time I got it cut and the color never really looked natural. I finally decided to try someone new and I’m so glad that I did! Beatriz was able to understand the cut I wanted and she is consistent every single time. And the color looks very natural. She is so friendly and easy to chat with that I really enjoy going to get my hair cut and colored. Maybe I’ll go wild this summer and try highlights! I wouldn’t try something new like that with anyone else.

Vida is fantastic! I wanted my hair colored to more of my natural brown with a few highlights and that has been a big struggle in the past at other salons, she looked at the picture and got it perfect! I’m so excited to have a new stylist. She has a ton of experience, is very down to earth and does not push products, she’s great!

I can’t recommend Vida highly enough! I have been seeing her for blonde highlights and cut for about a year and have been thrilled every time. The highlights look so natural and the cut holds its shape between appointments (and I only go every 3 months!). Prior to finding Vida I went to high end salons in San Francisco and Palo Alto that charged at least twice what Vida does and I was less satisfied with the results. So happy to have found Vida!

I was so happy to find Vida! She is absolutely wonderful. My hair color was horrible. I was having a hard time going darker with my prior stylist. So I told Vida what I wanted. She listened attentively and gradually fixed and darkened my hair. It looks so natural. I have received so many wonderful compliments about my color and style. Thank you Vida!

After searching for the right hair stylist I finally found Vida. She is amazing. Vida knows exactly how I want my hair to be cut and she is not pushy about going short since I love my long hair. She always listens to my requests and let’s me know what style works best for me. I have recommended 2 other friends and they absolutely love her.

I went in and saw Beatriz who was recommended to me by a mutual friend. She did such a great job — beyond my expectations.
I came in for a subtle ombré and she did a fantastic job! I was hesitant to do any coloring with my hair (due to a bad experience with another hairdresser in another salon), but B put all those fears to rest. She was quick and time-​efficient and even made me a latte ;). I LOVE my hair and have been getting so many compliments since.
Will definitely be coming back for future cuts and colors.

Have been with her for over 20 years through short hair, long hair, bleached hair, straightened hair — you name it, we’ve probably done it. Great listener, great advisor, customer-​oriented, personable, affordable. She also did my Mother’s hair for the last two years of her life and my Mother adored her — couldn’t wait for her weekly appointments with Susan! So regardless of your age or needs, she’s a great choice.

Susan Leoni has been my hairstylist for years — she is the best listener I have ever found in a stylist. If I come up with a new style idea Susan gets what I am saying immediately, tells me if it will work with my fine hair or not and then we tweak it. She’s fabulous with color too! I am asked on a regular basis who does my hair — thank you Susan!

When I lost my regular hairdresser from her move out of the area, I found Somewhere in Los Altos. Beatriz is right on target with her color/​highlights. Love, love, love the job she did on my hair. She also gave me a cut, very nice and it looks way more healthy. She is very genuine, and one can tell she has a good soul by her caring disposition. Some stylists are overly chatty, not so with her. She takes her queue from you and will chat if that’s what you want, or you can sit in a comfortable silence. Very easy to work with. I will be seeing her again for my next hair appointment.

Vida is wonderful. She is thorough, incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Vida for blonde highlights in the South Bay. She does a wonderful job of listening to what you want, and crafts a solution based on what would look best on your hair.

I was brought to see Vida by my daughter several years ago after a disastrous hair cut by someone else. Vida was amazing. I have wildly curly, well actually, frizzy hair. It is not easy to style. Vida quickly learned all the quirks of my hair, giving my several cute and different styles over the years. Something I had never been able to achieve before. She is honest about cuts that will look good and color choices, always mindful of my budget. Go see Vida and you will not be disappointed.

My 12 yo son has tons of thick thick hair, that he was keeping a little long for years, though willing to get it trimmed and neatened. Vida is the fourth person we tried and the first who finally made it look good, satisfying my desire for it to look cared for and his for not a typical short buzz cut. It seems cutting longer male hair isn’t a skill possessed by all, but Vida has it. She charges $ 40, but it is a very good hair cut. The Salon can be tricky to find, it faces the parking long behind Main St.

I was looking for a place close to home for a cut and color and found Beatriz through Unilocal.She suggested a Brazillian Blowout for my curly hair. I had been thinking about it a long time so I agreed to try it and I love it! So much easier and my hair feels the healthiest it’s ever been. This saves time and money; my hair dries faster and is SO much easier to style! Plus I don’t need the buckets of products I used to keep in stock.

Was looking for a new place, I have curly hair so I hate having to find a new place.
Beatriz not only gave me a great hair cut but some great advice as well. She took the time to asked questions and listed to my issues i was having first too which means a lot.
The place is cute and comfortable, although a little hard to find first time you won’t disappointed.
