Best Gay Friendly restaurant in Hollywood. 2 guys were doing oral in the next booth and the server didn’t stop them — Damn good guacamole too — nummy

The bartender was a complete rude bitch!!! After I complained about her tasteless sangria she brought me one that taste nothing but orange juice!!! After I said it was fine she took it back to the bar to sit so my waitress would put the garnish and brink it back to me when I said she could leave it… I am a waitress and I know better that thas not a way to treat a customer! Don’t come here for shitty drinks this happen on august 4th at 8:30.

Homophobic place! If you’re in the area, don’t go here. After grabbing lunch(@ Stout — amazing btw, see separate review) we wanted to continue happy hour and this place seemed to have cool deals. Tell me why we get up to the door, and some trash box hipsters outside say we can’t go in, «they are closed.» Look inside the window, full of customers, and we ask if they were messing around… the guy who claimed to work there said«no, they were closed for remodel»… Really? Remodeling with 40+ customers all drinking inside. We stood there for a minute waiting for the two guys to say just kidding, but nope. Sorry not sorry you don’t want my money, but the gay community has an immense disposable income. You should know. To bad this review isn’t on the actual food/drink, but they don’t allow gay people.

The service was great, we just ordered a bottle of wine and a veggie burrito, I have had much better, but it was still tasty. Great location in Hollywood, but there is so much better in this town

Really great atmosphere/décor, nice big tables, as well as more intimate setups, and the big bar. Food was decent, drinks were good and strong — lots of attractive people in there twenties to thirties. Service was a mess. forgot drinks, food, had to ask for chips and salsa. at the end the waiter screwed up our tab and blamed me and someone else for the mistake cos we both have bank of america cards… then messed it up again. I’d definitely come back, really nice vibe, but hoping I’d not get the same waitstaff.

The first thing that struck me about this place was the superior visual appeal from the moment you approach the curb. The paisley tile lining the front wall was awesome and the pleasing aesthetic continued into the establishment as well. At once classic and modern, the hardwood everything was inviting just felt… cool. We started with guacamole, which came in three styles — tapatio, bacon y queso and yucateca. The latter of which was my favorite, being a habinero fanatic. The fresh shaved/diced hab on top was delicious. The decision for my main course was a difficult one, because they had my two favorite pork dishes — burritos al pastor and carnitas — and I was definitely in that mood. I eventually settled on al pastor and am glad I did. The pork was tender, savory and juicy and the pineapple was fresh and sweet. The combo was killer. I’m very happy with my choice and would have a hard time not ordering the same thing on a return visit. My girlfriend had chicken tacos, of which I had a few bites, and they were good as well. Topped with fresh jalapenos, lettuce and tomato… the dish remained light but substantial. The service was fine. Our server wasn’t overly friendly… but I’m not the kind of patron that really wants him to be. I suppose if you’re into a waiter who laughs and jokes and(the bane of my existence) suggests meals unprovoked… you’d be disappointed. The prices weren’t bad at all, compared to what I’d expect in Hollywood. Overall, I’d 100% come back, given the chance.

I came here for the first time on a weeknight with two friends, and it was great! The restaurant’s vibe and atmosphere were trendy and sophisticated. I really liked the wood and leather décor with cool art and other décor. There’s several dining areas with many booths that can accommodate both large and small groups and a sports bar area with TVs and plenty of bar stools — perfect for football and other sports games or just hanging out with friends! For drinks, we had a round of beers, which were pretty tasty and hit the spot. For our food, I had the mahi mahi tacos while my friends had the enchiladas and the carne tacos. Each dish came with a choice of side. My beer and meal came out to just over $ 16. Not bad at all! With regards to parking, there is valet available($ 8) as well as a parking lot around the corner($ 7). Pretty straightforward. Overall, the service was great and I really enjoyed my first visit here. I can’t wait to come back for happy hour!

Enchiladas Rojas is mega-tasty and filling. The flavors are simply outstanding. And it’s not too expensive either. If you’re a vegan or just a veggie lover, try the Brussels sprouts. They’re tart and crispy and will change your whole perspective.

Came here on Saturday night with my friend Bridgette before the G.B.H. concert at the Fonda. Initially we were planning on going to Cabo Cantina for one of their novelty giant oversized ritas, but I guess it was a fight night, and we both decided we weren’t going to pay a mandatory cover charge to a fight we were not in the least interested in watching. 3 Dogs was a place that I remembered in the neighborhood that served ritas(our hearts were set on one) and we were excited when we found out they didn’t have a cover(football was on, not the fight). Our ritas came in at $ 12 a piece. Bridgette ordered the cucumber one, while I ordered the strawberry cheesecake one(with a graham cracker rim). Both were enjoyable(as Bridgette let me try hers; but I’m not a huge fan of cucumber, it was nice to try a sip, but not something I would necessarily order.) We also ordered the chicken nachos($ 10; spicy!), and I ordered a Blue Moon as a nightcap($ 5). Service was lackluster, which is where 3 dogs loses it’s stars. We had to flag down a random server to get silverware(the nachos were piled high, and after a while required a fork for all the toppings), and also water. Our server zooming by going«everything good?» doesn’t count as a table check for me.

This place sucks now. Horrible margarita(tasted like cough syrup) and boring guacamole with average, nay, forgettable tacos. Worst part? Andy Dick — that hack actor who killed Phil Hartman — was there pretty much molesting the wait staff. It was disgusting and they all acted like it was this normal thing to let him have his way with male waiters in front of the restaurant. Barf. I think there was a change of owner — they no longer allow dogs or even have the dog bowl. Huge disappointment. The place is just another tourist trap on Cahuenga. No good food. No good drinks. Not good for dogs. Vomit party thanks to D Listers.

It’s been a while since my visit to 3dog cantina, so my memory is a little foggy. What I do remember is the lack of service that we encountered. I realize it was after the midday break and things may take a while to run smoothly once again. It was just a bit of an inconvenience to have to get up to order a drink, food, or for a basket of chips and salsa. I love my chips and salsa and those should be an automatic at any Mexican restaurant. The thing that saved this place was the rustic interior. Felt like you were at some old Mexican country home. Then there was the tamales that they have on special for happy hour. I can still savor them in my mouth. They had an amazing sauce to go with them, but the actual tamales were amazing on their own. I would be back just to get an order of those, while I enjoy a margarita with chips and salsa.

I came here today with the intention of using the face value($ 20) of an expired living social deal. However when I tried to paid, they told me that they would not honor the deal(which isn’t even a deal since I’m only trying to use the face value I paid for it) because they apparently changed owners on 5÷6÷14 and the new owner refused to honor any deals issued before he took over. Not only did I have to brave Hollywood traffic and circle around for seemingly forever to find a parking spot, the food and drinks were only mediocre. We ordered the Chipotle Wings and they tasted bland. The margaritas were okay but too expensive for a small glass. Safe to say I am not a fan and will never be coming back here again.

Mediocre Mexican food. I should’ve taken my $ 23, gone to trader joes, and made my own burrito and I’m pretty confident it would have tasted better. Or gone to chipotle 3x. +1 star for the décor and gigantic windows.

I am so glad that I stumbled into 3Dog Cantina after a night of competent revelry at two nearby venues. If 3Dog Cantina would have been my destination, I would have been very disappointed. It’s built like a tourist trap in Orlando — «come in and taste our authentic Mexican food like tacos and burritos. We even have enchiladas!!!» Ironic, because the place screams inauthentic at every turn — the rice was yellow/green, the beans were black & mealy, and the sauces were watery. But the décor is what really(un)sells it. This two-story, fake-wood, wobbly tabled sports bar(?) feels like a Crocodile Café with a sombrero. The worst part? The prices. I did a quadruple check when I saw their TWO-taco platter was $ 15. «But it comes with rice and beans,» the server said. And I can’t fault the server, because when she wasn’t ignoring our table for 15 minutes, she was working the frozen margarita machine(yes, they still have one) and flirting with the bartender(s). It wasn’t a bad experience, really, but we’d already eaten a proper dinner and sucked back a few cocktails elsewhere. If you must go, make sure you eat(and drink) first. It might even be an entertaining night for you, regaling at the type of place MIddle Americans think is really mexican.

Our group of 15 descended on 3Dog Cantina this past Wednesday night for my best friend’s birthday and we were treated so well. We originally planned to have our gathering at the charming(albeit small) Blue Boar pub next door, but space was fairly limited. The bartender at the Blue Boar(super charming tall skinny blond guy with a bow tie) opened a pass-through door up on the second floor of the pub into the 3Dog Cantina and voila! We had the whole balcony to ourselves! He even let us bring 10+ drinks over. Thanks guy! Stand Out Features: — Huge, grandiose layout makes it the perfect place for large groups — Stunning themed décor — long dark stained wood tables, leather chairs and booths and Spanish rod-iron balcony and bar. Yes please! — Service was excellent, accommodating and not snobby — Guacamole and Chips were some of the best I’ve had in L.A.(I know, right?) — Reverse Happy Hour 10:00pm-12:00am(Mon — Thurs)… um hell yes? When I went: On a Wednesday night around 7:00pm What I’ve had: (1) Bacon y Queso Guacamole with Chips Verdict —- BIG points here for their guacamole and chips! Having grown up in LA, I am a total chip/guac snob. If the chips and guac aren’t good, it does not bode well. So, I see this Mexican staple as a spring board. The guacamole at 3Dog was really excellent. It had a really nice kick(plenty of lime without being overbearing on the raw onions). The crumbled crispy bacon bits on top… oh man, winner all around. (2) Crispy Brussels Spouts Verdict —– SOGOOD! Very crisp and balsamic vinegary, but not too salty. Really delicious and well marinated. (3) Steak Quesadilla Verdict —— Not bad, pretty standard steak quesadilla, could have used bigger chunks of steak, but overall it was good. Great dipping sauces come with it. Happy Hour: They have a pretty generous happy hour at 3Dog, which is great! Monday through Friday it runs from 3pm-7pm AND Monday through Thursday they have a reverse happy hour from 10:00pm-midight… yep that’s right people. Make monday through thursday your new weekend. Ambiance: I mean, look at the pictures of this place. It’s like Disneyland for adults. I had so much fun walking around and taking in all the details. The rod iron balconies, staircases and wine cellars were stunning. The balcony was spacious and I noticed they even have a first and second story patio area out back. Apparently, you can bring your dog too — cute! Service: The hostess that helped me with my reservation was really sweet and accommodating. Our server, Brad was awesome. I didn’t even ask for it, but he split up all the checks for us based on when the order was placed(since people were trickling into the party and ordering at different intervals). It made it so easy for us to pay and move onto the next place when the crowd got restless. So nice of him! He was very friendly and attentive the whole time. Prices: Very reasonable for Hollywood Location: On the left if you’re headed north of N. Cahuanga. One block from Amoeba Records. Parking: Hm… not so easy. But this is Hollywood… anyone patient enough to brave Hollywood traffic on pretty much any day of the week, won’t mind an extra 5 – 10 minutes spent looking for parking. We got fed up with sitting on N Cahuenga forever, gave up and just parked at the Arclight across from Amoeba. It was a two block walk, no big deal. But several of my friends got luck and parked closer. All depends on your patience level. Hours: Monday — Thursday 11:30am — 11:00pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00am — 12:00pm

it’s been about 8 months since I’ve been to 3Dog Cantina and I’m happy to say that I feel an overall improvement with my experience. First and foremost, our server was a fabulous young lady. She was attentive and had a super friendly personality. The second brownie point was when the manager came up to the table to check in on us, this is ALWAYS a big plus in my book. I took a group of 14 people(co-workers) and everyone said that they loved their drinks. A few had the regular margarita and others had the spicy mango margarita and they were both big hits. Food wise was a nice improvement from my last visit. The guacamole was fantastic, and I’m very particular about my guacamole. The brussels sprout was sautéed with cojita cheese and was delicious(though it wasn’t the healthiest version of the dish). The steak quesadilla was also very good. The chicken wings were just okay. A portion of our outing was under the Happy Hour deal which I highly recommend(3pm to 7pm). For the location being in the middle of Hollywood, I feel the happy hour prices are great! This place is walking distance from the redline subway station(Hollywood/Vine), you can try finding metered parking or pay $ 10 for valet/parking lot.

I liked the layout of the seating and the way the booths are open on one side to the street — letting in the breeze and making people watching easy. I can’t speak to the food — but the margaritas were very good. I liked the strawberry cobbler margarita the best.

Recently hosted a baby shower here and I must say the hospitality and actual venue was superb! Months back we spoke with Leslie regarding hosting a baby shower here and she was more than eager and excited to help us out. We told her our budget and she said they would try and keep it withing the budget. The venue itself is pretty amazing. Charming patio with mist-ers for hot days and a great Spanish feel. They even have a bar area with tv’s to watch sporting events. The actual dining section in front of the patio is massive! Two stories and more than enough room for large parties. Back to the patio(which we had our event). It did have its own private entrance in the alley way. Very essential for setting up. The back entrance allows for you to park in back to unload your car.(they where gracious enough to let us park the entire event without having to move our cars on the street). Overall the event we had was AMAZING. Great food, great atmosphere! Every time i needed something someone was always there to assist with any issue that occurred. Also they let us stay as long as we wanted without the pressure of keeping to a strict time limit. Highlight– Great environment Friendly service(also responsive) yummy food Trendy location

First, for the dog-owners among us: Most dog-friendly restaurant in the city. They bring out water for your dog immediately and offer a free dog bowl of rice/chicken/peas/carrots and the staff actually seem happy to do it.(Back in my table-waiting days I would not have been this gracious, myself, so I’m fucking inspired by these people every time I visit). Dog people get awesome, spacious booths to sit at(both inside and on the patio) so you can bring a group of folks with multiple dogs without annoying the shit out of your neighbors. The service is always excellent whether they’re busy or slow. The tableside guac is a must. I really appreciate the gi-normous glass of ice water they automatically bring out. The dishes I’ve had so far have been good and the way they plate them gives the food a thoughtful, creative look which makes things feel a little more upscale than a typical Mexican joint. Not that Mexican food needs to be remotely fancypants to taste amazing.

(This is JUST for it as a bar at night… not the ‘five star restaurant’ during the day.) This review doesn’t change my review of 3Dog as a restaurant — I love their food and will continue to come back… during the day. As a bar as night. Whoa. It’s bad — REALLY bad… I have to write this in an effort for management to fix it. Last Saturday(Aug 17th) we celebrated my friend’s birthday there with about 12 of us. Some of us got there early when it was less busy. The two female bartenders couldn’t have been more awful, not a simple smile, a «whudd’ya want» attitude. They were just absolutely miserable and angry all night. I’ve never seen two more miserable people. They had a drink special and she kept telling us it takes«too long» to make but my friend wanted it anyway so she stomped off and came back 15 minutes(!!!) later with two drinks. I couldn’t believe it. So, with delightful service like that, my friends returned just to order more, haha. I just stuck with beer… as to not inconvenience her. I ordered three for a round… she gave me a bill in the foamy bill thing and literally threw/slide it too me and I was about five feet away. It was a toss that landed… then slide by me. Are you kidding me?! Again, as a restaurant during the day, five stars… I’ll always recommend, it’s really, really good… but at night, it’s awful. I has such a good layout too but these bartenders really ruin it.
