I stumbled on this place after tiring of traveling to the Paul Mitchell Salon School in Sherman Oaks. This place is more intimate, more professional and the products seem to not dry out my hair like the others. Venus, has been coloring my hair and I am super happy with the results, she’s taken bone dry hair and conditioned it too. She seems like an old pro already– confident and faster than most students. Ms. Kim is the supervisor so you can’t ever go wrong. Now I am getting my hair blow dried and washed there and cut too. Win /​win for student and customer.

Just had my hair coloured by CourtneyMarie. She did an amazing job, she is a very talented cosmetologist. She explained exactly what she was going to do in order to accomplish the desired effect I was looking for. Im really happy with the results and I will definitely be returning.

Great time getting my new cut: Haley was great. Very knowledgable with great suggestions. Like the new place and of course love Miss Kim!

Venus cut my hair today, and the whole experience was wonderfully professional. She cut my dried long hair into a cute bob and gave me great advice!

Went to get my hair done with highlights today as a «model» for a student at this school today. My God does my hair feel good, the conditioning treatments are AMAZING! Even just simply washing and conditioning your hair. My highlights look ridiculously natural and I couldn’t be more in love. Whether you’re deciding on applying or going to get your hair cut, all thumbs up from me! Also, everyone there is so nice, you can actually have a NORMAL DECENT conversation with your hair stylist (:

I always go to Shay M. to get my hair done. She is extremely talented and detail oriented and makes sure to give you exactly what you ask for. She is very bubbly and friendly and is sure to make you comfortable and welcome while getting your hair done. I was out in a little over an hour for a cut, color, and blow dry. This is great for anyone who does not want to spend multiple hours in a salon chair. Go to Shay! She will make sure you walk out of the salon happy. You will not be disappointed!

Once again I am at The Academy for Salon Professionals! Their new location is in beautiful Northridge. I see Venus every week and look forward to my sexy do!!! In addition I must recommend Venus because of her professionalism and of course her styling and most importantly her head massages!!! I love it!

I must say that I’m really impressed with this place for several reason: low prices (than most salons), great customer service, clean area, and although the stylists are students, there are instructors around for a second opinion where as you can be certain and confident with your treatments. Chloe and Venus are awesome! You can always book them ahead of time for your next appt.

They don’t take walk-in’s after 3pm even though they say they close at 5pm.

I cannot recommend this school more highly. The Owner, Jill, has hired staff without equal. Miss Kim, Zanna, Angela… they all make an environment that is perfect for a person who WANTS to succeed in the industry. School was challenging, inspiring and fun for my daughter. I felt so good about her going to school each day and she wanted to go to school each day.
Success always depends on you, though. My daughter took the information, the techniques, and yes, the criticism to mind and heart and grew each day. She went to school, didn’t take days off, took it seriously, studied, listened and applied it all… and she graduated ahead of schedule. She graduated with skills and confidence.
The staff has been there for her since for advice and a listening ear.
If you want to earn your cosmetology license, COME HERE. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My daughter’s year at Academy for Salon professionals was such a pleasure and worth the investment.

Sierra did a wonderful job on my facial, she was very thorough and did a great job on explaining my skin type and what kind of treatment I needed.
The facial was great, relaxing, and my face looked luminous after.
The pricing is also great.
I will definitely be going back monthly to see her.
