ARCO am/pm

I am a big fan of gas stations that have attached carwashes so that my car gets all of his TLC in one trip so I’ve been on the look out for new places to go to since I’ve moved to Boyle Heights. I visited this particular gas station because it is attached to Washland Express Carwash, which had really good reviews. Now, the car wash is a definite upgrade from where I was going to before, but the gas station itself is a WHOLE different story. I really would only return here in order to get a car wash…
Granted, the gas prices here were relatively cheap compared to other spots, but as all ARCOs are, only debit or cash is accepted. I came here with the expectation of having to use my debit card, but I really didn’t like the extra charge for using my debit card…
Then, I go inside the gas station to pay for the carwash… I was met with three of the employees just sitting a joking around and when I went up to the cashier she literally just looks at me… They have no idea what customer service is here. So I pay for my carwash (in which I, again, am charged extra for using my debit card… I know that this is a common thing for all ARCOs, but still I’m starting to get annoyed at this point).
Then, I go to move my car to the vacuum area because all of the signs in the place say «Vacuum first, then car wash,» and that’s all fine and dandy (Free vacuum is a great perk!), but then a car wash employee comes out and tells me that next time, I can just pull around because they have a vacuum area specific for «before the carwash,» as opposed to «after the carwash,» where I was. While this was confusing, I do appreciate the friendliness of the car wash employee. The gas station employees could learn a whole lot about customer service from that guy. –_–

They have this great deal were you pay $ 15.00 for a whole 30 days of unlimited car wash (you vacum the interior), but I found out after the first wash of $ 5.00. So I asked two «managers» why not refund me the $ 5 and charge me the whole $ 15.
You would think «any company that want more business and repeated business, plus good word of mouth, would want», right?
Not here, I tried my limited spanish, Urdu, Arabic and Fuckeneese with no avail. Not even the owners father would do it.

Self serve/​debit machine sucks ass. Gas prices cheaper than others, and the pump wasn’t working properly.
