Tenshin Ramen. It’s so good! :) Soup is sho-yu(soy source) flavored, and noodle is thin and light. An tenshin(omelet and gravy) is on top of ramen. Kind of interesting menu. I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant. Good food & good worker.

The spicy tan tan noodles here are everything and more! It’s no joke that you must order this. The tofu salad with sesame dressing is another must order. Their appetizers are all yummy and quite appropriate for late night munching or happy hour. The seating is extremely tight so yes you’ll hear about your neighbors’ latest conquest. I don’t recommend it for large groups. Although six of us visited once and we were able to order a large variety that way. They serve alcohol and hot tea. Perfection in this little hot spot area away from the Sawtelle hustle & bustle. The service is above average for an «Asian» place and everything tastes fresh! Nom.

This place is terrible! If I could give it zero stars, I definitely would. I don’t remember what the item was, but I can tell you it very closely resembled snot on a plate. Let me put it this way — if I was dating a really hot asian girl and she told me she’d have sex with me if I ate here, I still probably wouldn’t do it.

This is my favorite place to Japanese food. It did change a bit with Korean fusion and the place seems a bit smaller but I love it regardless. The fried rice is the best and the ramen too. I love the side dishes and cow tongue as well. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like. The service is pretty good too. No complaints. It does get busy but the wait isn’t that bad just call 15 min before.

This is a really nice restaurant to eat at with lovely minimalism interior design including a teak table at the front. Everything on the menu looks good. If you happen to order soontofu, the side dish comes with it tastes super refreshing — the sesame oil makes the bean sprouts taste great, and it’s crunchy. The kimchi fried rice and ramen are both marvelous. The best part is its houji tea ice cream. Houji tea is roasted green tea. Happy to say this ice cream is one of the best I’ve had. The service is great. Oh and the waiter is cute! :D Happy eating~~~

My fiancée and I frequent this place, and we have yet to be disappointed. Service is always on-point(always friendly, responsive and attentive) and the food is great, especially for the price! I especially recommend the Tan Tan Ramen(their specialty) and the Chicken Karaage(big, juicy chunks of chicken instead of the usual tiny pieces). Downsides are that the place is small(Seats 20 people, maybe 30 at tops) so it can get overwhelmed easily during busy times, compounded by the scarce(though free) parking, though to be fair we always found a spot even when the wait was 30+ minutes. If you get there before 7pm you should be alright. Also don’t bring big groups, again the restaurant is tiny — get take out!

I live a block away from this restaurant. I knew I had to try it out when 1. I’d go for a run around lunchtime it was consistently full and 2. I’d drive by at 10pm, and it was still packed! Plus, I could see that they serve beer and sake(this is not a bar) and had super cute details on the inside(like the lights) with a clean, simple décor. It’s a great neighborhood place for food. Being unfamiliar with ramen restaurants I started with shoyu ramen and won-tons. It was so delicious I ordered it again the second time I visited the restaurant. The broth has roast pork in it and the flavor is very concentrated but natural, like any good reduced stock or sauce should be. The other dishes I saw looked really tasty and I’m sure that next time I’m getting the tan tan. The service was great. No one hovered but they definitely kept an eye on my portions, drink, etc. to see that I was happy and each of the servers were extremely pleasant. They were really big on smiles. It’s a small, clean restaurant and from what I could see, they have a large amount of to-go orders. I’ll gladly pay ten bucks for a huge bowl of their yummy ramen with won-tons. I know I’ll be walking here a lot in the fall and winter when the sweater weather comes. I didn’t give this five stars yet because I need to try more of their food. I’ll come update this after I do.

So I’ve been here twice now and basically the tan tan men I got the first time was crazy good and would seriously give Daikokuya a run for their money, but unfortunately that would be the only menu item that blew my shoes off(wasn’t wearing socks). If you come here: GETTANTANMEN. Don’t even waste your time looking through the different noodle options! For my second time here, I accidentally got the ‘miso tanmen’ rather than the tan tan men lol and I was pretty disappointed – broth had a weird smell that just wasn’t my thing. So their tan tan men is def worth coming for but I wouldn’t get regular ramen here – there are better options for that. Garlic fried rice was okay, it was standard Japanese fried rice, not bad but nothing to really write home about either. Gyoza wasn’t good enough to warrant ordering again. The complimentary soup they gave was super salty so I didn’t really finish it. Green tea ice cream scoop was pretty good(expensive for the amount but aren’t all ice cream at Japanese restos expensive) and I liked how it came with hot hoji tea! Service is awesome, the waitresses and waiters are very attentive and sweet, dining area a bit small so might be a bit of wait for seating but not a huge deal. I do like that the ramen bowls are massive though.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally did. I got to say I was a little bit disappointed. My ramen — the tanmen which was #3 on their best list was tasty but had all sorts of crap in it — random veggies — mushroom, cabbage, corn, etc and pieces of pork. I probably should have gotten the Chasu Ramen. Service was good and its a nice, small place. We got there at 6:30 and didn’t have to wait, which was good. Still, I’d rather wait a little for Daikokuya or Tatsu.

Easily one of the best ramen spots in West Los Angeles. Best described as «craft» Asian food. High quality ingredients and a real focus on details. The food presentation is great and the food is beyond delicious! Close to Sawtelle but not too close — that it resides in a strip mall means parking is easier.

Just get the Asian-Ya tan tan men already! My favorite ramen in LA hands down, and I’ve had plenty(Tsujita, Daikokuya, Tsuj Annex, Santouka, Shinsengumi, etc.).

Great food, not expensive, and fresh, I had the Midori Yasai-Ramen, simple with a good amount of vegetables(exactly how I like) and I added some chicken. I also had tried my friend’s Tan Tan-Men, hot and no spice, really good, if you are looking for more flavor go for that one. The service is great, as well.

Their Asianya-Tantan is to die for. If you are craving a good bowl of ramen, this place is definitely a good choice. The fried rice here is also really good. Besides the good food, their waiters and waitress are super attentive and nice. Definitely try this place out because it’ll soon turn into a regular spot for good Asian food!

Asian-Ya(or Ramenya) is located in a little plaza on the corner of Gateway and Barrington. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but when you walk in it’s actually pretty nice! Nice, bright lighting with cute light fixtures, wooden tables, and chalkboard menu displays AKA this place is insta-worthy. Service is also super sweet and attentive which is always nice when you go to Asian places. My sister and I shared the Cold Tan Tan Men and the Mixed Tofu Soup which comes with beef, seafood, and mushrooms. If you’ve never had Tan Tan Men, it’s noodles in a spicy sesame broth with ground beef — the cold version comes with cucumbers instead of spinach. The tofu soup comes with three side dishes — I’m not sure if they’re always the same, but we had spinach, radish, and bean sprouts. Side dishes were just OK and the soup had good flavor but I like my broth to be on the thicker side, this one was a little too thin. The Cold Tan Tan Men definitely stole the show! The broth was cold, spicy, and has almost a creamy consistency to it without leaving any film in your mouth. I love the cucumbers in it, I like the texture it brings to this dish. If you get anything here, get this!

They satisfied my Asian craving no questions asked! Small little place in a small little plaza with a small little parking lot, but with big portions and big taste buds and flavors! Do note that they are CLOSEDONMONDAYS. The service here was really good too, very nice and considerate. One of the servers who was trying to seat us kept coming back and checking to see if we were ok and was trying to get us a better table, so cute lol kawaii! It does get crowded around dinner time and since it’s so small, do expect a wait, we got lucky in that we beat the rush and only had to wait for about 10 minutes. At the bar, they have a chalkboard of what the most popular is so for those of you who don’t know what to get, look to the board! We ordered the hot and sour soup with ramen(surantan), seafood ramen(san mar ramen), and the tan tan ramen. They were all really good, at least I loved my hot and sour soup one. Because some of these are based off egg drop soup, the broth is a bit more thick than your regular soup, think of it similar to mushroom soup versus chicken noodle soup. The portions here are huge, definitely will get you filled, and the price is very very reasonable. I didn’t get to try the gyoza but they smelled delicious and looked delicious. If I ever find myself lucky to be in the area again, I will definitely order! bombdotcom! come and try it!

I came here the other day for ramen as I’m on a ramen mission! I got the negi ramen, which is what I used to get at the other location(when there was the separate Ramen-Ya on Olympic), but i got the miso broth. I also split an order of gyoza(6 pieces) and an order of shishito peppers. We also both got a beer. Ramen — the miso broth was pretty miso-y. I liked that there were a ton of spring onions in it, but I guess there should be since it was negi ramen! Otherwise not too notable. It was a pretty large bowl, I didn’t finish it. Not bad. Sides — shishito peppers were good — one was an extremely spicy surprise, but otherwise pretty mild. Gyoza were just ok. Service was good, atmosphere was fine — it was pretty crowded but not too cramped, and we were able to get seated right away. My one complaint is that it ended up being expensive for two people. I guess this is the westside tax. sigh. I won’t be coming back here specifically for ramen, but I definitely want to check out the soondubu since that’s hard to find west of the 405.

Thinkin’ about getting some Ramen this evening on the Westside? The Line at Daikokuya getting you down? Don’t want to trek up past Santa Monica blvd for Shin-Segumi? Well, friends look no further than the best kept Ramen secret on the Westside… I present to you the super underrated and amazing ASIAN-YA Ramen spot… Location: Gateway avenue. Same plaza at the Papa Johns Parking: Spacious. Interior: Tiny as expected. If you’re looking to sit down with a large group it might be a while but worth the wait. Service: Friendly. Ramen: Tan Tan Ramen: I actually originally was gonna get this but opted for the Tomato Ramen instead… DAMN. This thing was awesome. JY graciously let me polish off this bowl cause she couldn’t finish it. I really enjoyed the spicy broth with the ground beef and ramen all meshed into one fantastic bowl of AWESOMENESS. The portion size was pretty good as well. In addition, you can add all the typical ramen fixtures in your bowl. Make sure you get corn!!! Tomato Ramen: It was good but no Tan Tan Ramen. It came with chicken as opposed to beef and tasted what you would expect actually. It was rather bland compared to the Tan Tan. *I’d definitely come back here again and if you want to avoid the main strip of Sawtelle but still want to get your ramen fix on the Westside then look no further than Asian-Ya BRO!
