One of the worst vista points along Mulholland Drive. There is barely a view. See my review at for the details about Mulholland overlooks.

I love to try all the overlooks. When I drive highway one, it drives my honey nuts as I stop at every turnout, but back to Mulholland. The Summit Overlook is great for a sunrise over the valley and for me it is a very peaceful early start to the day. To stop and soak it in as the sun comes up over the horizon is a joy. The soft colors of the morning are simply soothing and mild. I enjoy this overlook, and hop you do too!

blink and you’ll miss it. my favorite overlook of them all, the barbara a. fine overlook sits at the summit of the winding hills that mulholland drive snakes around. it’s less popular than the hollywood bowl overlook, which definitely affords the best views but is always crawling with tourists. i can’t take the crowds when i’m trying to enjoy my city so instead, my boyfriend and i like to race west through the canyon to here. i know mulholland drive like the back of my hand but if you don’t know what you’re looking for and when to expect it, most likely you’ll drive past this overlook without even seeing it. the signage is somewhat obscured and there’s only a three car parking lot that is frequently empty, so be sure to check a map before heading here in order to have a better understanding of the geographical location. there’s a short and secluded nature trail connected to the parking lot that loops a couple hundred yards along the north side of mulholland and offers beautiful views of the canyons, valleys, hills, and mountains that surround you. it’s also the perfect place to steal a kiss. the real payoff, though, is on the south side of mulholland. cross the road and damn. on a clear day you can see straight to the ocean from the heart of hollywood… it’s incredible.

I am inspired. I am amazed. I am speechless. I am coming back. I was literally blinded by the warm golden sunset that emerged across the sky. I knew i wanted to pull over and take a picture, but there weren’t any pullover areas. I pulled into the lot that read Barbara A. Fine Overlook and ran across the street. I began taking photos of a telephone pole that stood still while the day fell asleep. I love exploring. I knew there would be a plague that explained about this overlook. A small trail took us around the bend where we saw the moon shine in the pastel sky. I saw the sun and the moon at the same overlook! This overlook offers views of Fryman Canyon, the San Gabriel Mountains as well as the San Fernando Valley. Until we meet again…
