It’s a great place to study. Lots of tables, lots of outlets, and you can usually find a place to sit, unlike the next door Starbucks. It’s also open pretty late for those weeks before midterms or finals! I don’t have an expert Boba pallette but the Boba here is pretty good with a lot of choices to pick from. With fast free WiFi, this is one of my go-to study spots in Westwood.

I didn’t know that every Boba Loca was franchised, so the things that I look forward to at my other 3 boba local locations in the valley are definitely NOT here at the Westwood location, for instance, at my Sepulveda location I get all of the jellies, boba, and popping boba I want for FREE, here you pay extra for anything more than Boba. The look of this location is much nicer and better laid out than the rest of the BLs that I visit, but they don’t have anything that is like the rest of them other than the name and the cups. The menu is smaller too than the rest of them and the staff here sometimes can be a little snooty when I asked about stamping my boba card — but again, it’s franchised so it won’t work here, thanks barista for blatantly pointing that out. If you want boba, it’s one of the better places around Westwood, but if you want boba you can stop off at a number of other locations there to get your fix.

Boba Loca, thanks for being the best study place and boba around. Cashiers are always friendly, the boba is consistently good and chewy, and the study atmosphere is always on point.

This place has good boba, but upon stopping by today, I found it closed. It was within posted business hours and there was no sign indicating when they would be open or even if they’d be open that day. A phone call did not even get an answering machine. Very disappointed at these poor business practices.

Favorite boba in Westwood right now. Avoid the taro unless you like the liquified popcorn taste, but most other flavors I’ve tried are good!

Wow, this was probably the rudest encounter I’ve had in a very long time. I was walking through Westwood with my occasional craving for a cold delicious beverage when I walked into this shop and was very happy to see almond milk tea listed on the menu. I, a non native speaker, asked if and what kind of bobas they have and that’s when boba boy Regina George went off. No matter what I said, explained with a shy smile, no matter how much I tried to ease the situation — The guy working here acted extremely defensive and hostile till the very end. It was crazy. Another female customer began to giggle that’s how bad the dialogue was. This guy had like a negative value of social skills. Five minutes later, I ask for the wifi password. He gives me a wrong password. I hand him over my MacBook, he still couldn’t enter the right password explaining that it must be my computer. Right. Who hurt you boba boy? I will never know as this place sure won’t get to see my Euros ever again.

The cashier, Rio(I think) was great. Awesome guy. Would come back here again just cause of his great service. P. S. Ask him for the Mint Mojito! It’s delicious!

I went in to purchase a large quantity of gift certificates because I know that I have purchased some in the past, years ago and the young guy working at the counter told me that they didn’t sell gift certificates. I pointed to the sample certificates taped to the counter and asked him about them and he said he knew nothing about it and had to ask his manager. This was all after waiting for five minutes at the counter while he made 3 drinks and never looked up to it knowledge me at all. Unfortunately they lost my business and lot of money that I was going to spend here. Aside from this experience I have purchased drinks from here on a number of occasions and I remember enjoying what I purchased. That’s why I bumped up my review from 1 to 2 stars. However with two other, new Boba places nearby, they now have some competition and us customers have options so small mistakes like this could affect their business greatly.

Ordered the almond milk tea. The taste was spot on; the boba was just the right sweetness and chewiness; plus I love it when they use the crushed ice so I don’t have to go fishing for boba later. A small milk tea is $ 2.95. A regular milk tea is $ 3.45. They also offer slushies, smoothies, teas, frappes, and other stuff. In terms of studying, I’m not quite sure how people study here as the area is small and the tables are all clustered together. For me, this would be more of a grab and go kind of place.

This boba place has been in the neighborhood for years, and is a favorite spot for locals and students alike. It’s a little café situated just a few blocks from the UCLA campus, and there are likely to be some students working here on their laptops at any time of the day. They serve a variety of different drink options like the usual milk and green teas, and have a selection of smoothies and other fruity drinks to choose from as well. I usually go for the regular tapioca milk tea. The drink itself is alright, but probably just average for taste. It’s not bad, but I think I have tried better tasting milk tea elsewhere. It’s really all to your preference though, and you might find their milk tea here to be really good. The location itself is quite convenient and makes for a great stop right after or before you head to one of the local theaters. There’s also a public parking structure located right around the corner.
