Have been coming here for 5 years since my sister and mother suggested it. Not sure why I waited this long to write a review. I go back and forth from la to sd a lot and this is my go-to spot for a haircut in la. It’s a no frills mom and pop store. Bonnie and Sam have always been so wonderful to me and the price is so great($ 25 for women’s cut). I always call 30 minutes prior to going in to make sure they can take me in. I’ve never had a fail haircut. Granted, I have never asked for a bob or anything crazy. Sam is silent while he cuts your hair— I could see how some ppl might be turned off by this… But I love that I don’t have to feel like making small talk or answering a thousand questions while I’m getting my haircut.

Don’t go to this hair salon! Although I dyed my hair twice a year by myself, I had smooth and silky hair. I permed my hair here and guess what, Bonnie burned half of my hair that I spent over $ 100 for treatment, hair mask, and cut which costs more than I paid her for perm. When I asked her for refund, she angrily gave me the money in front of the door and kicked me out. She didn’t even say sorry! She is very rude and I’m disappointed in her service.

The price is extremely affordable for the quality of the service. It’s not your typical hair salons in Koreatown. The thing I like the most about this place is that I know that the service is reliable. Like most of the hair beauty salon place in Ktown, you might find a lot of good hair stylists who are freelancing AKA renting a place within a big, fancy hair salon. The problems with this are: 1. They don’t control the price. The store owner is in charge of any refund and price modification. 2. They are there by freelance contract, meaning that they can leave to move to next hair salons anytime. It’s a hassle tracking your favorite stylists down and following them to a whole new salon place. Bonnie & Sam are Korean couple, who are extremely sweet and efficient at their job. Get your hair cut by Sam(husband) and hair dyed by Bonnie(wife). The price is what’s getting me through the door, but the satisfaction afterwards is what gets me to come back!

This place is amazing. I’ve been getting my hair cut here for about a year now. My men’s cut is always exactly how I ask Sam to do it(I’m guessing it’s Sam from«Bonnie & Sam»). The $ 16 men’s cut is also a great price! Definitely would recommend you to check it out.
