Over priced items specially the books! Take advantage of the students necessity for the text books and testing materials. The staff?.. never really had a run in with them i never need their help since. All the books are shelved by class. Its a good looking store but just wish it wasn’t. So god damnad expensive

The college is fine so far, but the bookstore is overpriced and poorly managed. LACC students, my advice is to stay away from this train wreck at all costs: check out Textbook One across the street or get what you need online. I went to the bookstore to buy the textbook for a class that I will be adding. Not yet officially enrolled, but the instructor will have add cards tomorrow and so I wanted to start the reading now. OK, after waiting 510 minutes in one line, it turned out that the checkers there did not take credit cards: those of us who were charging books had to wait in a different line. Why there was no «CASHONLY» sign anywhere, I can’t imagine, but OK, off to the next line for a 15 minute wait, only to be told that I needed my student ID. When I explained that I did not yet have that, I was adding the class and would get that tomorrow but want to start the reading now, and I can give my social(not something I give out lightly but I wanted to get the book) I was told that there was no way they could sell the book to me. Now, I have a BA already(am taking a class to beef up my business skill set), and I went to a community college before, and NEVER have I had this much difficulty buying a book, for God’s sake. Fortunately, after that experience I went across the street to Textbook One, which not only sold me the book, but I got it for $ 40 less. I’ll never set foot into LACC’s bookstore again.
