Got to sit in the second row to see author, Cassandra Clare, at the LA Times Festival of Books! There was plenty of room for everyone but it was packed. The seats are comfortable and the aisles had plenty of space for walking. There’s restrooms upstairs and gender neutral single restrooms as well. Right next to the auditorium, there was a book signing for Cassandra Clare for a limit of 500 people but I think when I was in line there couldn’t have been more than 250.

One of the iconic buildings on campus. Before Hoover was closed off, the front of Bovard was an open street. Auditorium hosts several events. Been here multiple times: when Bill Nye the Science Guy gave a lecture, when Diego Luna came to give a talk, performed on several occasions with The Greatest Marching Band in the History of the Universe, came to see Junot Diaz give a talk, All Schools Day with the Social Work Department, etc. Staff is friendly and very efficient with helping patrons.

Great performance by Ira Glass. I loved it! I was in the dead-last row on the first balcony, so my experience in this very steep section wasn’t ideal. I could only see a sliver of the stage… also, for some strange reason, crowd control decided to have only one entrance and exit on the first balcony. It made for a very very slow departure. But still, Ira Glass! IRAGLASS!!! Fantastic man! Parking was relatively easy on campus, albeit expensive($ 10).

Bovard gave me a sour impression to start. At orientation they crammed all the incoming freshman in here to deliver«this school is awesome» indoctrination — you know, those endless speeches by over-excited alumni-administrators who don’t know when to stop talking and don’t pay attention to the distracted faces in the crowd. There was better fare with time. Famous people come here to speak all the time, and the experience is as good as they make it. The interior feels dark and dingy. The brick exterior is beautiful, and it’s actually genuine, unlike many of the newer additions to campus. It feels lived-in, like people have actually spent time here and done interesting things in this building.

This theater was beautiful. I was there to see John Green at the LA Times Festival of Books. the ushers moved us in quickly and in just a few minutes we were all seated. The lighting was soft and colorful — pinks and purples — highlighting the architecture. The chair in theaters are not always that comfortable, but I was on the edge of my seat because of the speaker. Definitely a space I would return to so that I can see another kind of production. The auditorium staff really knew what was going on and made the 1300 seat theater a great experience.

Beautiful, beautiful auditorium! Not only does the last row have a decent view, I am dying to see what the front row was like. I saw John Green here, during the Festival of Books, and enjoyed myself immensely. The outside is just as beautiful and it made me miss being an undergrad so much!

a classic auditorium theatre. Its an old one. Set on the USC campus and used for general events but they do have big time USC sponsored gigs here once in a while. It opens up to a gorgeous lawn and to the center of the USC campus with tommy trojan right next to it!

Loved working in the admin department in Bovard. The auditorium is very large, and the design is beautiful. I have many fond memories of Vision and Voices events(you should go to these if you’re a USC student!), Orientation, and performing in and watching Songfest here. This is the building that is shown in many movies as the college«dorm» or classroom and is located right in the center of campus with plenty of trees and grass in front to picnic on. The ushers are always good and the auditorium is always clean — including the bathrooms to the sides ! Definitely will miss this building when I leave !

Bottom line at the top: love bovard with all of my heart. :) home to usc administration as well as some awesome events. – Bovard is a signature building at the University of Southern California. As a graduating senior, I have seen: Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser, Shephard Fairey, Maya Angelou, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and most recently Louis Zamperini under this great roof. Line up early so that you can get floor seats. :)

Giant auditorium with an amazing ambiance behind it. It’s one of USC’s signature buildings and with reason. It’s huge and I can recall all the events I’ve been to in this auditorium and they all have fond memories of me transitioning from my high school days to my college years now. If you plan on booking this venue for your event, you probably have to do it about a year in advance, this place is always scheduled for some business as a FYI for you USC students who need a place for your thing.

Bovard is a cool Auditorium and I have many a fond memory of various events that were held here from my years at USC. It’s big and beautiful and well cared for by the university. There are also a bunch of academic offices located in this building as well, so it’s not just an auditorium. PS. There are a ton of bathrooms in here and usually people don’t think to go here so it’s pretty empty!

Early March 2012, evening visit for a play Two stars, mainly for massive parking hassle Bovard is lovely; a well-preserved building and every seat is a pretty good one. Easy in/out with quick will-call and helpful ushers. Having said that… the parking is awful. It literally could not be any further from the auditorium. The laws of physics would no longer apply. The only thing worse than the parking was the wait to enter the campus… many many green lights came and went before we could make the left into the entry gate. There was a USC(?) traffic officer who had long since given up trying to handle the situation; he was just trying to stay alive and get home safely. If you’re headed to Bovard for an event, add another hour to your game plan. I wish I’d known… PS: As a UCLA alum, I have no idea why the 2 campuses are rivals. They are exactly equal when it comes to creating utter mayhem around parking and logistics.

I visit this place once a year to see my niece perform in her dance show and the place is small, the seats are not that comfortable, and it needs to be updated. I would say it’s okay for a University auditorium. I really can’t judge it on anything else so for an attendee it’s nothing spectacular but I can guarantee that I’ll be going again next year.

A great venue for school productions. We had quite a few amazing events here — including his Holiness the Dalai Lama and the TED speaker series. It’s a beautiful building from the outside, too, especially when the landscaping is done and roses have bloomed. They frame the entryway(when looking from Doheny) perfectly.

Review for the Auditorium itself(not the performance I watched): Parking — you have to pay(which we were not informed of, prior to the event) and walk a little bit. Our event didn’t have signs posted around to direct us(which was rather annoying, seeing as it’s summer and there’s not a lot of students around to ask for directions). Staff — the students that were volunteering/working(?) for the event were very nice. It seems that they’re very skilled with the lighting and sound, etc. Set up/Layout — well-sized. You can use just the bottom seating for smaller, and the view from those seats are great. Don’t know how good the view is from the two sections above, but it’s not too huge of an auditorium, so I can’t assume they’d be too bad Sound — Really good, and again, because it’s smaller, you’re not filling a giant ampitheatre, so you should be okay

Bovard is really a great venue. I can’t even count how many times I’ve performed on that stage or sat in that audience… it’s a lot. A lot of schools don’t have access to that level of quality. Not to say it’s Radio City Music Hall, but it really is a very nice auditorium, especially for a college campus. Props, Bovard.

Earlier this week, USC’s sold-out Bovard Auditorium hosted over 1,200 people for«Ira Glass: Radio Stories and Other Stories.» The event staff made check-in a breeze; signage was plentiful and there was no shortage of staff to lead you in the right direction. In a refreshing move, the doors were even opened a few minutes ahead of the scheduled time. As you’re lead into the venue and you get your first glimpse, it’s no surprise that this building was built over 90 years for church services. Renovations over the years have kept the place in tip-top shape and the stage, audio and lighting aspects come together to provide a quality atmosphere. Keeping in mind that this is the second oldest concert hall in LA, this ol’ lady is in great shape.

Attended an event last week, «Making Movies, Making Deals, & Making It Big»…featuring Rob Lowe & Tom Barrack as guest speakers. The auditorium was packed with over 1,000 students and guests. We were lucky enough to be in the 3rd row, center stage, lower section. The acoustics and lighting was perfect. The temperature was just right too… not too hot or too cold, which can sometimes be a problem with an event like this. The building is beautiful and well kept… an excellent place to view an event. Overall, I was very impressed with this place. Will I return? Absolutely!

Revisited my alma mater and had a nostalgic… sorta…trip down memory lane as I walked around campus here. It’s been about a year or two since I last came here but today I went back since there was a concert going on at Bovard. It’s my third time in this auditorium and it’s quite beautiful inside. The set up has a gothic feel to it… like the outside of Notre Dame cathedral. I feel like I am going back in time in the 1600s(1500s? 1400s?) in Paris when I’m inside. The sound is amazing and USC’s done a good job with this auditorium. Good job SC’!
