Mixed bag. Good food but not for the money. Good service but could be better for as much as you will spend here. Atmosphere is OK. I don’t know, probably won’t come back.

Our friends live a block away so this is a regular spot for them. The crowd is a lot older but our friends swear the bar is fun late night. The food is definitely overpriced and mediocre at best. I had the New Brentwood Caesar Salad and it was pretty sad. Some of the endive leaves were wilted and brown so freshness is not a priority. The mac and cheese was okay but nothing to write home about. My husband had the seafood salad that had shrimp and thousand island dressing… meh. Glad I tried it but no need to go back. The atmosphere is great but the food definitely needs a reboot.

This place was a HUGE disappointment. My fiancé wants me to say«it sucked» but it needs way more explanation. My fiancé and I arrived before the 4 other guests. The other guests recommended this place based on excellent food and prior experiences. They had moved out of town and wanted to experience the great food they remembered. The drinks came first. We ordered margaritas. Mostly alcohol, tequila. Tasted like tequila on the rocks with salt but that’s not the worst thing. $ 13/piece for mostly tequila with salt and a huge piece of ice. Not rocks. Ice chunk. One. Some might argue I’m not a foodie. But I am a boozy and margaritas are my thing. No one comes here for the margarita’s. Second thing I noticed was the prices. The prices are outrageous. I’m not a 1%er so I really mind throwing money away. The entrée me and my fiancé split was $ 50. The services was fine. Ok, congenial, not an issue. Maybe even a bit sympathetic. My starter was a squash soup with ginger. It sounded delicious when I ordered it. 3 people ordered it and 1 of us as a main course. It arrived and we immediately dug in. Disgusting! Tasted like backed-up drain-water at best. Inedible. So gross. The maitre de came over after we told the waitress how terrible it was and asked us to describe it to him so he could relay it the chef. We all used as many adjectives as possible. The man assured us he’d investigate. We canceled future orders and proceeded. Our main course arrived. It was the veal chops scaloppine. We paid $ 3 splitting charge on a $ 50 entrée. The portion was split In 2 in what I can only describe as a prison meal. Split right down the middle with zero finesse, the fontina cheese was still in the shape of a processed school lunch square encased in plastic. I was actually embarrassed for the chef. The square shape of processed cheese was unmistakable on our $ 50 entrée. To make matters worse, the salt and pepper shakers were identical to each other and our friend ground pepper(salt) all over his meal not realizing it and took a bite and realized both shakers were salt. We nodded sympathetically while the waitress explained the mix up. We waited another 30 minutes for his fresh meal. Finally, they comped us some dessert cookies and it was over. We won’t be returning.

For a relaxed grown up environment you can not go wrong and the service and quality of the food is five stars. Do not let the entrance put you off as it is a small oasis inside.

Enjoyed an excellent meal here the other night. I was recommended and accompanied by a dear friend of mine who was ecstatic about the food. We started with the boneless chicken tenders tossed in spicy buffalo and topped with crumbled blue cheese. Delicious! Then we shared the New York for two with a bottle of vino rosso. The steak was grilled a perfect medium rare with hearty vegetables on the side. The staff was attentive and caring at every step of the evening, and the restaurant’s ambiance was just right for catching up with an old friend. I could also see this as an ideal and comfortable spot for future dates, special occasions, or an excuse for a fine meal. We ended the night at the bar, because three glasses of Appleton Estate rum is the best way to enjoy dessert and keep the night going! Bravo Brentwood Restaurant & Lounge!

The Brentwood is a great place no matter what mood you’re in! You can get dressed up or keep it casual. Either way, it’s a great environment with delicious food and amazing cocktails and wine. When you walk in, it feels like you’re discovering a special place that no one else knows about, yet everyone is there. The staff was really friendly and knowledgable and I immediately felt greeted and comfortable. I recommend starting with a cold martini and a burrata caprese and then moving on to red wine and the New York steak! That’s just me, but you can’t go wrong with anything on this eclectic, super accessible menu! Overall, I always have a great experience when I go and look forward to going back!

This place was way better than I was expecting. Stopped by because a friend recommended it and went in with no expectations other than the decent Unilocal reviews. I was very pleasently surprised. The service was kind, gracias and accomidating. Our server walked us through the menu because we had never dined with them before. I basically let him choose our meal for us. We had the bruschetta to start.(11 on the delicious scale), we shared the beet and goat cheese salad after that, which to my amazment was… amazing. I hate beets but the gf loves them. As for dinner we had the wild salmon and ribeye steak. I think it was the best(non-sushi) salmon I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The ribeye was also superb. Dessert. Chocolate bread pudding and the cobbler. Thank me later. Other positives. Our server was funny. Great service but also not overbearing. Huge bar selection. Ambiance was old school and intimate It’s open until midnight most nights. Celebrity diners.

Came here on a Tuesday night with my boyfriend for dinner. Place was packed, suggest reservations. Cute little neighborhood feel with an old-California swanky vibe where you would expect Frank Sinatra to walk in at any moment. Great service, great bartender with a nice non-fancy cocktail. Had a great margarita and the martinis look good too. Nice variety on menu. Many different cuts of meat available as well as pasta dishes that looked fantastic or something as basic as a cheeseburger so appeals to a wide audience. They have many«comfort food» menu items such as turkey chili, chicken pot pie, meatloaf, ribs etc… but in a fancy style. I had the ribs which was a huge portion of very meaty ribs and homemade bbq sauce(not too sticky, or super bbq feel) served with cream corn, very tasty. My bf had the turkey chili with a corn muffin – nice flavor not super filling. Did not have desert, but the homemade doughnuts, cobbler, and bread pudding sounded very good. I would recommend as a classic neighborhood place. Nothing super modern about it, but a good«go-to» option.

The Brentwood is one those fun local restaurants that if you happen upon you think to yourself, ‘How did I not know about this place?’ The food is comforting and delicious… The music is fun and lively… The staff is friendly and surprisingly knowledgable… The bar is well stocked and the wine list filled with interesting choices. I’ll definitely be back!

Every time I eat here I love the food. The service is good and food is consistently good. My only complaint is that it tends to be a bit pricey. Outside of that, I’m a fan!

As far as comfort food goes this place is pretty good. As far as service goes this place is very good. The atmosphere, likewise. What I’m still trying to understand is four salads and two hamburgers(split, as in cut in two) costing $ 160.00? I brought home the dinner receipt and have added it up four times and I still don’t get it. Is it correct — Yes. But for the life of me I don’t see THAT dinner being $ 160.00? I mean I get the«Brentwood» thing. I used to live there in my single days so sticker shock is not out of the question in that environment. But I experienced this dinner and no way was this a $ 160.00’er! I probably won’t go back unless I’m in Bentwood during rush hour dreading the 405 and craving meat loaf. Not a likely scenario.

I think most of the other reviews are accurate on this place. This was my second and last time here for dinner. My guess is they’ve been around for so long as an old school spot in Brentwood, that they think they can charge high prices for mediocre dishes. There were quite a few locals, older crowd and the service was below average — especially at these prices. The food is uninspired and does not change much seasonally. So, while there are a few signature dishes, for the most part the food is «rote», not uniquely prepared and reminds me of hotel dishes. I had a house speciality — short ribs & polenta, it was 1 star at best. the short ribs were 3 symmetrical dull(and tough) pieces of meat plated in the center with a few dried out roasted vegetables and some pre-prepared polenta. The wait staff did periodic fly by’s, but are not very attentive or inspired. We started with the artichoke appetizer, was boring with too much shaved parmesan cheese. Another of us had the Pork Chop, also a speciality and boy was it tough. I’m not opposed to paying $ 50pp for a steak or fabulous dish. But the food here is not at that level of quality. Candidly I think a chain like Hillstone or Bandera has better food and consistently better service. If you’re looking for a spot in Brentwood, in my humble opinion try Divino or head to Bandera a few miles west. Hope this is helpful for your dining adventures.

Unless your a cougar, Looking to hang out with cougars. This is not the spot. Horribly stuffy. We rather go to a college bar near ucla for wine then bare the horrible atmosphere here.

I understand some restaurants have their select few signature dishes that are very good, aaaand apparently we did not find those when we came here for dinner. First, the cocktails. I ordered the blood orange martini and it was pretty bad. Fresh blood orange, which is a major plus, but the drink was just too sweet and the taste was completely off. My bf ordered some type of whiskey drink which he liked. I never like his whiskey drinks and this one I liked because again… super sweet. The food. The only reason I didn’t give this place 1 star is because of the mac n’ cheese, which was pretty damn good, especially with the crispies on top. I ordered the buffalo chicken strips because I wasn’t too hungry, and maybe you’re thinking that was a poor choice on my end, but hey they sounded good. They weren’t. I had better at Q’s Bar. I saw a commercial for Wingstop when I was eating them and even those looked better(and I’m 99.9% sure tasted better) than the ones I was eating. The bf ordered the turkey chili, which was more like a turkey stew and definitly NOT chili. He wasn’t a fan. which says a lot because he like some questionable food. and he didn’t finish it. I tried a carrot and decided to stop there. Although the bf lives in the area, we definitely won’t be coming back here again. Not only was our food not great, but it was completely overpriced. Probs would’ve been more satisified with Sizzler.

I happen to think the Brentwood Lounge has one of the best steaks in LA. The bone in Kansas City New York strip is excellent. However it’s $ 55.00. And everything else On the menu is right up there in price. We had dinner for two the other night …$ 190.00 … The problem, for that Kind of money don’t you think you Should have A-1 service? Well, Far from it. While we waited and waited For the bread to be served … People Who had come in 15 minutes after Us were served immediately. I had To remind the busboy our drinks We’re at the bar … And had been sitting There for 10 minutes. I had to remind The waiter I wanted a baked potato With my dinner after he brought French fries … 3 times … So I didn’t eat the potato with The steak. Nor did I have The wine we ordered. And this Is not the only time … It’s EVERYTIME!!! I give up … The service is the worst … Too bad … Food is great … But too Frustrating to enjoy.

Made reservations here on Valentine’s Day. There was no wait and we were seated right away, and the host was very friendly. Our waiter Michael was also great! He told us about the specials of the night in great detail(he knew his stuff) and we didn’t have to ask for refills or anything. The atmosphere of the place was classy and low key, which I loved made the experience more personal. My boyfriend and I ordered the flat iron steak and it was AMAZING! The meat was tender and in a yummy sauce complimented with potatoes that were just as delicious. The portion was perfect leaving me full not stuffed. The ladies that night all got free roses which was sweet. I wish we had dessert, looked delicious but couldn’t eat another bite.

First the pluses… Terrific service. Waitstaff was extremely attentive, professional and friendly. Great ingredients. The produce and meats were of a very high quality. Now the minuses… What they did with those ingredients was a shame. The Jidori fried chicken was juicy on the inside, but completely soggy on the outside. The gravy was tasteless and tepid. The mashed potatoes were fine, but rather pedestrian. Fried chicken for $ 29.50 should be a lot better than this. The creamed spinach lacked seasoning and was drowning in cream. The blueberry cobbler had a nice cobbler topping, but the flavor of the blueberries was completely masked by an over-abundance of lemon zest.

This is a really really cute dinner spot that has awesome music. The restaurant is dimply lit for dinner, making it a great date spot. The bar is dark and delicious and they give you very generous pours. Food wise, its good. Not outstanding but it hits the spot and you enjoy a good meal with good company, good drinks. Its packed every night of the week, which is a testament to the food and the ambiance in sleepy Brentwood.
